be_v say_v to_o this_o i_o answer_v answ_n first_o that_o although_o he_o make_v his_o people_n blessing_n yet_o sometime_o it_o prove_v not_o effectual_a god_n blessing_n do_v not_o always_o take_v effect_n upon_o the_o son_n of_o man_n through_o their_o sin_n as_o he_o have_v promise_v his_o blessing_n upon_o his_o word_n that_o be_v that_o god_n himself_o will_v be_v present_a with_o it_o and_o work_v in_o and_o by_o it_o for_o which_o cause_n it_o be_v not_o a_o common_a but_o a_o holy_a word_n namely_o so_o in_o itself_o yet_o be_v it_o not_o always_o effectual_a to_o the_o hearer_n close_o walk_v with_o god_n as_o his_o servant_n and_o friend_n as_o they_o ought_v to_o do_v and_o then_o no_o wonder_n if_o such_o person_n and_o their_o child_n come_v short_a of_o this_o blessing_n because_o god_n who_o ordain_v to_o the_o end_n ordain_v also_o to_o the_o mean_n therefore_o the_o child_n of_o such_o parent_n by_o such_o example_n will_v be_v apt_a to_o grow_v remiss_a and_o careless_a in_o religion_n 2._o because_o although_o his_o promise_n be_v to_o carry_v his_o election_n so_o as_o to_o cast_v elect_a child_n upon_o elect_a parent_n yet_o he_o reserve_v to_o himself_o and_o also_o use_v in_o this_o a_o liberty_n namely_o ever_o and_o anon_o to_o be_v still_o break_v off_o some_o and_o graft_n in_o other_o into_o this_o holy_a root_n so_o he_o pass_v by_o ishmael_n and_o take_v isaac_n pass_v by_o esau_n and_o take_v jacob_n afterward_o he_o break_v off_o the_o nation_n of_o the_o jew_n and_o graff_v in_o the_o gentile_n at_o last_o he_o will_v graft_v the_o jew_n again_o into_o their_o own_o root_n so_o now_o a_o day_n a_o believer_n child_n prove_v ungodly_a then_o be_v that_o child_n break_v off_o a_o unbeliever_n child_n be_v convert_v to_o the_o faith_n then_o be_v that_o child_n graff_v into_o this_o holy_a root_n therefore_o for_o a_o right_a understanding_n of_o this_o promise_n make_v to_o abraham_n we_o must_v take_v in_o that_o caution_n or_o qualification_n to_o it_o and_o it_o be_v necessary_a as_o god_n have_v so_o far_o confine_v himself_o in_o his_o election_n namely_o to_o family_n and_o nation_n that_o he_o shall_v withal_o reserve_v this_o liberty_n because_o if_o he_o have_v so_o entail_v his_o election_n to_o believer_n family_n as_o that_o none_o of_o their_o posterity_n shall_v ever_o be_v break_v off_o
