obedience_n otherwise_o a_o man_n may_v be_v discharge_v from_o the_o obligation_n of_o the_o law_n by_o break_v it_o 3._o rom._n 4._o 1_o joh._n 3._o and_o then_o he_o that_o have_v sin_v once_o a_o precept_n of_o the_o gospel_n direct_v to_o the_o transgressor_n of_o the_o law_n as_o a_o remedy_n for_o the_o breach_n of_o it_o and_o a_o condition_n of_o pardon_n not_o allow_v by_o the_o original_a law_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o a_o precept_n only_o but_o a_o privilege_n peculiar_a to_o the_o gospel_n be_v a_o gracious_a dispensation_n and_o mitigation_n of_o the_o rigour_n of_o the_o law_n act._n 11.18_o god_n have_v grant_v to_o the_o gentile_n repentance_n unto_o life_n that_o a_o sinner_n upon_o his_o repentance_n through_o faith_n in_o a_o mediator_n that_o have_v express_a word_n of_o our_o saviour_n before_o allege_a if_o thou_o will_v enter_v into_o life_n keep_v the_o commandment_n and_o this_o i_o take_v to_o be_v a_o duty_n of_o such_o necessity_n as_o can_v not_o be_v discharge_v or_o dispense_v with_o by_o any_o positive_a will_n or_o covenant_n of_o god_n upon_o any_o consideration_n whatsoever_o no_o not_o upon_o that_o of_o a_o most_o perfect_a satisfaction_n for_o the_o breach_n of_o the_o law_n with_o a_o entire_a fulfil_n of_o it_o by_o a_o surety_n for_o and_o in_o the_o stead_n of_o the_o transgressor_n i_o say_v that_o neither_o upon_o this_o nor_o any_o other_o consideration_n the_o duty_n of_o obedience_n to_o the_o moral_a law_n of_o god_n can_v be_v discharge_v or_o dispense_v with_o for_o these_o reason_n 1._o because_o such_o a_o discharge_n or_o dispensation_n be_v contrary_a to_o the_o sovereignty_n of_o god_n which_o import_v a_o authority_n to_o command_v all_o creature_n that_o be_v capable_a of_o receive_v and_o which_o can_v be_v blot_v out_o by_o any_o abrogation_n without_o blot_v out_o the_o reason_n that_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o man_n that_o which_o be_v in_o itself_o evil_a can_v without_o contradiction_n become_v indifferent_a or_o lawful_a but_o that_o which_o be_v not_o restrain_v or_o forbid_v by_o any_o bind_a law_n must_v needs_o be_v lawful_a therefore_o the_o opinion_n of_o libertine_n and_o antinomian_o affirm_v christian_n under_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v discharge_v from_o the_o duty_n of_o obedience_n to_o any_o law_n or_o command_n of_o god_n as_o such_o be_v not_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n the_o mediator_n thereof_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v impute_v to_o the_o penitent_a sinner_n that_o by_o a_o true_a faith_n lay_v hold_v upon_o that_o mediator_n so_o that_o there_o be_v some_o sin_n which_o do_v not_o make_v void_a the_o effect_n and_o benefit_n of_o repentance_n but_o be_v consistent_a with_o the_o truth_n of_o it_o and_o a_o regenerate_a state_n such_o a_o repentance_n as_o be_v available_a to_o salvation_n it_o be_v employ_v that_o other_o be_v not_o so_o and_o such_o be_v all_o gross_a wilful_a and_o presumptuous_a sin_n but_o 3._o neither_o do_v such_o sin_n as_o these_o after_o a_o man_n have_v once_o true_o repent_v exclude_v a_o sinner_n from_o the_o benefit_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o be_v still_o capable_a of_o the_o same_o remedy_n which_o be_v allow_v for_o all_o sort_n of_o sin_n which_o a_o man_n be_v find_v guilty_a of_o before_o his_o first_o conversion_n although_o such_o sin_n do_v evacuate_v the_o it_o be_v never_o out-dated_n not_o be_v restrain_v to_o one_o general_a pardon_n as_o the_o novatian_o heretical_o teach_v nor_o limit_v to_o any_o number_n of_o repetition_n there_o be_v no_o sin_n and_o therefore_o the_o resolution_n will_v be_v as_o clear_v what_o be_v reasonable_a to_o be_v do_v in_o this_o case_n as_o be_v in_o any_o of_o the_o former_a with_o this_o only_a difference_n that_o the_o practice_n under_o this_o duplicitie_n of_o doubt_n can_v be_v without_o a_o necessity_n of_o sin_n what_o then_o can_v i_o or_o shall_v i_o do_v more_o in_o this_o case_n than_o this_o commit_v myself_o to_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n with_o a_o cautionary_a profession_n of_o my_o desire_n to_o obey_v he_o and_o that_o if_o i_o can_v any_o way_n possible_o avoid_v the_o hazard_n of_o transgress_v his_o will_n i_o will_v do_v it_o notwithstanding_o any_o motive_n whatever_o respect_v myself_o or_o my_o own_o interest_n but_o because_o i_o can_v so_o do_v at_o this_o time_n for_o
