in_o his_o station_n first_o fidelity_n to_o his_o master_n i_o place_v this_o first_o because_o all_o his_o prayer_n and_o sacrifice_n without_o this_o can_v be_v accept_v by_o god_n his_o diligence_n in_o read_v and_o hear_v the_o word_n be_v without_o this_o hypocrisy_n and_o his_o communicate_v of_o the_o sacrament_n be_v without_o this_o but_o a_o bold_a and_o presumptuous_a profanation_n of_o it_o and_o i_o place_v this_o here_o as_o a_o duty_n towards_o god_n because_o i_o will_v have_v every_o servant_n know_v that_o it_o real_o be_v so_o nothing_o can_v be_v plain_a eye_n be_v upon_o he_o that_o be_v govern_v by_o this_o conscience_n he_o will_v not_o do_v how_o far_o soever_o he_o be_v absent_a for_o he_o will_v fear_v damnation_n more_o than_o the_o loss_n of_o his_o service_n and_o the_o displeasure_n of_o god_n more_o than_o that_o of_o man._n a_o second_o duty_n towards_o god_n which_o i_o will_v recommend_v to_o servant_n be_v god_n 2._o trust_v in_o god_n trust_v in_o he_o or_o dependence_n upon_o he_o there_o be_v no_o state_n so_o secure_a or_o so_o fortunate_a as_o not_o to_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o god_n and_o consequent_o none_o wherein_o this_o be_v not_o a_o proper_a duty_n but_o yet_o it_o seem_v most_o proper_a and_o indispensible_a for_o such_o as_o have_v few_o friend_n few_o support_v to_o rely_v upon_o and_o such_o be_v servant_n they_o be_v therefore_o to_o endeavour_v to_o be_v eminent_a in_o this_o grace_n there_o be_v no_o way_n by_o which_o they_o can_v more_o direct_o and_o immediate_o own_o god_n by_o which_o they_o can_v make_v a_o more_o public_a and_o eminent_a profession_n of_o their_o firm_a belief_n of_o his_o wisdom_n power_n and_o goodness_n the_o servant_n therefore_o must_v learn_v to_o look_v upon_o god_n as_o his_o father_n as_o his_o patron_n as_o his_o guardian_n as_o all_o in_o all_o to_o he_o to_o he_o he_o must_v resort_v for_o counsel_n to_o he_o he_o must_v complain_v if_o wrong_a of_o he_o he_o must_v beg_v assistance_n and_o on_o he_o alone_o he_o must_v rely_v for_o a_o blessing_n in_o all_o he_o do_v and_o for_o provision_n he_o must_v learn_v to_o call_v upon_o he_o in_o that_o apply_v themselves_o to_o he_o the_o second_o that_o god_n will_v bless_v he_o and_o all_o he_o have_v for_o his_o servant_n sake_n this_o be_v the_o advantage_n which_o potiphar_n enjoy_v in_o the_o service_n of_o joseph_n and_o laban_n in_o that_o of_o jacob_n the_o prosperity_n of_o those_o idolater_n be_v owe_v to_o the_o religion_n of_o their_o servant_n the_o servant_n beside_o the_o contentment_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o his_o mind_n arise_v from_o his_o frequent_a address_n to_o god_n and_o beside_o the_o actual_a blessing_n which_o god_n will_v one_o time_n or_o other_o certain_o bestow_v upon_o those_o that_o trust_v in_o he_o will_v also_o find_v a_o good_a support_n a_o ready_a antidote_n against_o all_o the_o real_a and_o imaginary_a evil_n of_o his_o state_n for_o be_v but_o this_o duty_n of_o trust_n in_o god_n conscientious_o practise_v servant_n of_o ability_n and_o spirit_n will_v never_o want_v encouragement_n nor_o those_o of_o mean_a capacity_n towards_o one_o even_o to_o fondness_n and_o dotage_n and_o aggravate_v their_o unkindness_n to_o another_o even_o to_o coldness_n &_o hatred_n one_o while_o they_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o insinuate_v the_o peevishness_n or_o jealousi'e_n of_o a_o parent_n another_o while_n they_o will_v magnify_v the_o fortune_n of_o the_o young_a heir_n they_o will_v provoke_v he_o by_o lay_v before_o side_n and_o natural_a affection_n on_o the_o other_o can_v never_o be_v firm_a and_o steady_a any_o little_a accident_n will_v undo_v all_o nature_n in_o the_o child_n will_v return_v to_o it_o be_v bend_v some_o little_a obligation_n pass_v upon_o he_o or_o wholesome_a advice_n insinuate_v in_o a_o fit_a season_n will_v awaken_v his_o natural_a affection_n and_o then_o he_o will_v make_v no_o blessing_n of_o a_o father_n and_o virtue_n the_o great_a blessing_n of_o the_o child_n but_o also_o because_o he_o have_v hereby_o lay_v the_o best_a foundation_n of_o the_o child_n honour_n and_o of_o his_o master_n child_n wherever_o you_o can_v advance_v these_o you_o be_v to_o refuse_v no_o pain_n no_o hazard_n the_o lest_o you_o can_v do_v be_v to_o conceal_v their_o defect_n or_o excuse_v they_o to_o lay_v hold_n on_o every_o opportunity_n to_o speak_v honourable_o of_o what_o be_v virtuous_a and_o praiseworthy_a in_o they_o to_o increase_v the_o number_n of_o their_o friend_n and_o to_o be_v want_v neither_o in_o advice_n nor_o travail_n to_o promote_v their_o interest_n nothing_o therefore_o can_v be_v more_o repugnant_a to_o this_o duty_n in_o a_o servant_n than_o to_o and_o grace_n to_o assist_v we_o be_v tender_v to_o all_o alike_o and_o all_o do_v alike_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o both_o and_o of_o this_o sort_n of_o obligation_n be_v the_o command_n of_o christ_n renounce_v the_o faith_n and_o fall_v almost_o into_o the_o guilt_n of_o open_a apostasy_n all_o these_o argument_n and_o motive_n to_o the_o frequent_a use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n do_v as_o strong_o bind_v and_o forcible_o press_v servant_n as_o any_o other_o sort_n of_o people_n whatever_o servant_n obligation_n peculiar_a to_o servant_n but_o beside_o these_o there_o be_v some_o consideration_n which_o may_v more_o peculiar_o concern_v servant_n than_o other_o and_o which_o seem_v to_o render_v the_o neglect_n of_o this_o duty_n more_o inexcusable_a in_o they_o than_o in_o any_o other_o as_o first_o as_o they_o enjoy_v not_o the_o pleasure_n which_o man_n of_o plentiful_a fortune_n do_v so_o neither_o be_v they_o distract_v by_o the_o care_n which_o master_n of_o family_n may_v reasonable_o be_v suppose_v to_o be_v nor_o be_v they_o engage_v in_o so_o many_o contention_n as_o the_o many_o design_n and_o interest_n of_o their_o superior_n do_v necessary_o expose_v they_o to_o they_o live_v if_o it_o be_v not_o their_o own_o fault_n by_o constant_a rule_n they_o have_v all_o the_o advantage_n of_o retirement_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o world_n lie_v under_o no_o press_a temptation_n either_o to_o care_n or_o contest_v or_o sensuality_n so_o that_o unless_o they_o be_v extreme_o careless_a of_o their_o soul_n unless_o they_o be_v extreme_o insensible_a of_o the_o love_n of_o jesus_n they_o must_v live_v in_o a_o habitual_a preparation_n for_o the_o sacrament_n or_o at_o least_o they_o can_v have_v no_o tolerable_a excuse_n for_o the_o neglect_n of_o it_o it_o deserve_v well_o to_o be_v further_o consider_v that_o the_o great_a stress_n of_o business_n which_o lie_v upon_o many_o master_n of_o family_n in_o their_o trade_n and_o employment_n lie_v not_o alike_o upon_o they_o or_o if_o it_o do_v it_o may_v indispose_v and_o incapacitate_v the_o master_n for_o the_o communion_n and_o yet_o not_o the_o servant_n it_o be_v the_o master_n choice_n but_o the_o servant_n necessity_n that_o put_v he_o upon_o it_o it_o be_v often_o the_o master_n ambition_n and_o covetousness_n but_o it_o be_v the_o servant_n obedience_n and_o faithfulness_n that_o engage_v he_o so_o that_o the_o weight_n of_o business_n which_o may_v be_v the_o master_n fault_n be_v the_o servant_n duty_n and_o therefore_o though_o it_o keep_v the_o one_o it_o must_v not_o the_o other_o from_o the_o sacrament_n for_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o any_o one_o shall_v be_v make_v unfit_a for_o the_o communion_n by_o do_v his_o duty_n it_o be_v true_a to_o advance_v a_o
