rebuke_n be_v a_o pronounce_v of_o some_o misbehaviour_n 2._o or_o know_v wickedness_n of_o any_o with_o condemn_v of_o the_o same_o by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n whereby_o they_o may_v have_v shame_n that_o other_o may_v fear_v correction_n be_v a_o sharp_a thing_n and_o therefore_o 19_o not_o easy_o bear_v of_o our_o nature_n which_o be_v full_a of_o self-love_n and_o through_o the_o corruption_n of_o nature_n it_o be_v turn_v into_o a_o occasion_n of_o great_a frowardness_n sturdiness_n and_o naughtiness_n where_o it_o be_v not_o wise_o deal_v in_o now_o the_o better_a to_o minister_v correction_n with_o more_o hope_n of_o do_v good_a by_o it_o we_o must_v consider_v first_o the_o end_n of_o correct_v second_o the_o matter_n for_o which_o correction_n must_v be_v give_v three_o the_o manner_n of_o correct_v 1._o the_o end_n in_o correct_v must_v not_o be_v to_o wreck_n and_o revenge_v thy_o anger_n or_o malice_n or_o to_o revenge_v thyself_o for_o any_o injury_n do_v nor_o yet_o alone_o the_o prevent_n of_o the_o like_a hurt_n by_o the_o like_a fault_n afterward_o but_o in_o zeal_n of_o god_n glory_n who_o be_v dishonour_v by_o the_o lewdness_n of_o the_o offender_n and_o in_o love_n to_o the_o party_n thou_o must_v seek_v by_o wise_a correction_n to_o reclaim_v he_o from_o such_o evil_a as_o bring_v danger_n to_o he_o &_o to_o make_v he_o more_o careful_a of_o his_o duty_n afterward_o herein_o they_o fail_v who_o in_o correct_v have_v no_o respect_n but_o to_o their_o own_o commodity_n 2._o for_o the_o matter_n that_o deserve_v correction_n this_o be_v a_o rule_n that_o there_o must_v be_v no_o rebuke_v much_o less_o chastise_v but_o where_o there_o be_v a_o fault_n for_o where_o any_o be_v unjust_o correct_v beside_o the_o injury_n it_o hurt_v he_o by_o harden_v he_o against_o just_a correction_n for_o he_o will_v think_v that_o it_o be_v the_o rash_a hastiness_n of_o his_o governor_n that_o put_v he_o to_o smart_v and_o not_o his_o own_o desert_n by_o fault_n i_o mean_v not_o only_o the_o commit_n of_o that_o which_o be_v forbid_v but_o also_o the_o omit_v of_o that_o good_a which_o be_v command_v but_o every_o such_o fault_n be_v not_o to_o be_v censure_v with_o correction_n sometime_o ignorance_n mistake_v oversight_n and_o a_o desire_n to_o please_v in_o one_o thing_n make_v inferior_n to_o offend_v in_o other_o except_o there_o be_v contempt_n or_o willing_a negligence_n or_o reckless_a oversight_n a_o gentle_a admonition_n may_v serve_v and_o indeed_o superior_n must_v take_v heed_n of_o come_v to_o the_o great_a remedy_n of_o correction_n too_o soon_o for_o so_o they_o may_v soon_o mar_v the_o party_n by_o over-sharpe_a deal_n which_o by_o a_o wise_a proceed_n by_o degree_n may_v have_v be_v gain_v furthermore_o governor_n must_v know_v yet_o more_o express_o for_o what_o to_o correct_v some_o never_o correct_v but_o for_o their_o own_o matter_n never_o regard_v the_o fault_n commit_v against_o god_n but_o the_o godly_a governor_n that_o aim_v at_o god_n glory_n and_o seek_v the_o lord_n and_o not_o himself_o be_v most_o grieve_a for_o those_o disorder_n in_o his_o family_n that_o tend_v to_o god_n dishonour_n and_o such_o he_o correct_v most_o careful_o and_o as_o for_o the_o default_n of_o his_o family_n that_o be_v against_o himself_o he_o look_v more_o to_o god_n dishonour_n by_o they_o then_o to_o his_o own_o hurt_n or_o loss_n &_o in_o zeal_n of_o god_n be_v draw_v to_o correct_v and_o not_o of_o self-love_n he_o therefore_o count_v these_o thing_n worthy_a of_o correction_n if_o any_o delight_n in_o the_o ignorance_n of_o god_n or_o be_v careless_a to_o approve_v himself_o as_o one_o that_o whole_o depend_v on_o he_o love_v he_o fear_v he_o reverence_v he_o labour_v to_o approve_v all_o his_o way_n before_o he_o if_o any_o be_v give_v to_o idolatry_n and_o superstition_n &_o care_v not_o in_o every_o part_n of_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n to_o follow_v his_o reveal_v will_n or_o if_o in_o the_o part_n command_v he_o appear_v negligent_a &_o cold_a or_o put_v they_o to_o any_o other_o use_n than_o be_v command_v or_o be_v give_v to_o image_n or_o superstitious_a monument_n custom_n occasion_n or_o such_o like_a if_o any_o dishonour_n the_o name_n of_o god_n either_o in_o the_o unreverent_a use_n or_o abuse_v or_o 〈◊〉_d and_o not_o use_v it_o with_o that_o preparation_n before_o feel_v at_o the_o present_a time_n and_o fruit_n after_o which_o be_v prescribe_v his_o title_n word_n sacrament_n or_o work_n if_o any_o profane_a his_o sabbath_n by_o vain_a pastime_n and_o game_n as_o card_n dice_n dance_v etc._n etc._n go_v to_o play_n or_o give_v not_o himself_o to_o the_o exercise_n appoint_v for_o that_o day_n out_o of_o the_o word_n if_o any_o neglect_v special_a duty_n towards_o their_o equal_n superior_n or_o inferior_n in_o year_n gift_n authority_n as_o magistrate_n minister_n master_n parent_n servant_n child_n or_o people_n if_o any_o declare_v not_o a_o conscience_n to_o fly_v evil_a anger_n malice_n contention_n quarrel_v fight_a or_o any_o hurt_v of_o the_o person_n of_o man_n either_o in_o soul_n or_o 〈◊〉_d be_v careful_a to_o succour_v the_o same_o according_a to_o his_o call_n if_o any_o be_v find_v unchaste_a in_o body_n word_n countenance_n or_o gesture_n untemperate_a in_o diet_n in_o apparel_n dissolute_a not_o care_v to_o maintain_v the_o contrary_a holiness_n in_o himself_o and_o other_o if_o any_o be_v not_o careful_a to_o preserve_v the_o good_n of_o another_o man_n or_o shall_v by_o falsehood_n flattery_n and_o oppression_n diminish_v the_o same_o if_o he_o be_v negligent_a in_o increase_v of_o his_o own_o by_o honest_a and_o lawful_a mean_n or_o misspend_v they_o in_o card_n dice_n game_n &c_n &c_n if_o any_o care_v not_o to_o maintain_v the_o good_a name_n of_o other_o but_o be_v give_v to_o

they_o command_v they_o and_o to_o refrain_v from_o those_o thing_n which_o they_o forbid_v they_o thankfulness_n beside_o that_o there_o be_v many_o other_o branch_n be_v always_o mindful_a of_o benefit_n receive_v and_o therefore_o carry_v continual_o a_o vigilant_a and_o watchful_a eye_n towards_o the_o party_n by_o who_o it_o have_v be_v pleasure_v that_o no_o discourtesy_n in_o any_o case_n be_v offer_v or_o any_o occasion_n be_v minister_v whereby_o he_o may_v conceive_v unkindness_n and_o by_o this_o familiar_a description_n of_o these_o three_o head_n wherein_o stand_v chief_o contrary_a to_o their_o mind_n and_o like_n and_o therefore_o such_o child_n as_o match_v in_o this_o sort_n as_o it_o be_v in_o spite_n of_o the_o tooth_n of_o their_o father_n and_o mother_n be_v neither_o reverend_a obedient_a nor_o thankful_a unto_o they_o and_o so_o consequent_o they_o do_v not_o honour_v they_o whereby_o they_o incur_v and_o run_v into_o the_o curse_n of_o god_n which_o without_o true_a and_o unfeigned_a repentance_n must_v needs_o pull_v down_o upon_o the_o head_n of_o themselves_o and_o their_o family_n the_o fearful_a plague_n of_o god_n his_o most_o heavy_a and_o hot_a indignation_n against_o they_o to_o their_o utter_a subversion_n decay_n and_o ruin_n let_v all_o dutiful_a and_o good_a nurture_a child_n therefore_o in_o the_o reverence_n and_o fear_n of_o god_n consider_v what_o honour_n and_o obedience_n they_o owe_v unto_o their_o parent_n and_o what_o power_n and_o authority_n he_o have_v in_o his_o word_n sanctify_v unto_o they_o over_o their_o father_n and_o be_v just_o punish_v 22._o for_o it_o likewise_o absalon_n use_v wicked_a practice_n to_o 14._o get_v the_o kingdom_n from_o david_n his_o father_n for_o rebellion_n and_o
