they_o receive_v these_o thing_n of_o one_o shepherd_n or_o pastor_n and_o digest_v they_o in_o this_o order_n as_o if_o some_o one_o of_o we_o sit_v at_o a_o table_n shall_v discourse_v of_o man_n affair_n other_o be_v present_a write_v what_o be_v say_v preacher_n so_o that_o this_o book_n be_v a_o public_a oration_n which_o they_o hear_v solomon_n make_v of_o the_o which_o oration_n they_o think_v good_a to_o call_v this_o book_n cohele_v that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o preacher_n not_o that_o solomon_n be_v any_o preacher_n but_o for_o that_o the_o book_n make_v as_o it_o be_v a_o to_o speak_v as_o the_o common_a sort_n use_v differ_v far_o from_o his_o father_n plainness_n of_o speech_n and_o from_o moses_n who_o of_o all_o other_o be_v most_o plain_a and_o yet_o have_v many_o notable_a figure_n in_o he_o as_o have_v also_o david_n but_o they_o be_v common_a and_o use_v figure_n most_o vain_a vanity_n this_o a_o hebrew_a phrase_n for_o where_o the_o hebrew_n have_v no_o superlative_a nor_o comparative_a degree_n they_o be_v constrain_v by_o way_n of_o compound_v to_o make_v their_o superlative_a and_o comparative_a degree_n double_v so_o they_o use_v to_o call_v a_o most_o excellent_a and_o singular_a song_n the_o song_n of_o song_n as_o solomon_n have_v do_v a_o vanity_n of_o vanity_n that_o be_v the_o great_a vanity_n that_o can_v be_v that_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o vanity_n all_o this_o he_o speak_v not_o against_o the_o creature_n themselves_o but_o against_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n that_o abuse_v the_o creature_n to_o his_o own_o hindrance_n labour_n be_v vain_a it_o avail_v nothing_o for_o they_o neither_o enjoy_v thing_n present_a nor_o absent_a because_o their_o mind_n be_v not_o quiet_a &_o so_o they_o be_v carry_v between_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o prevail_v nothing_o for_o this_o word_n vanity_n proper_o signify_v that_o that_o we_o call_v nothing_o they_o heap_v up_o treasure_n riches_n and_o seek_v to_o be_v of_o power_n etc_n etc_n and_o all_o these_o be_v nothing_o gold_n in_o deed_n be_v a_o thing_n but_o to_o thou_o that_o can_v not_o use_v it_o it_o be_v nothing_o that_o he_o say_v of_o all_o his_o labour_n speak_v must_v be_v understand_v as_o speak_v with_o a_o kind_n of_o vehemency_n for_o hereby_o he_o declare_v that_o he_o will_v not_o entreat_v of_o god_n work_n which_o be_v holy_a and_o wholesome_a as_o be_v all_o his_o creature_n but_o of_o man_n work_n which_o be_v lead_v and_o bear_v about_o with_o their_o own_o way_n and_o device_n mean_v hereby_o to_o repress_v their_o teach_v we_o their_o vanity_n counsel_n and_o to_o withstand_v it_o as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v howbeit_o those_o who_o we_o be_v not_o able_a by_o our_o admonishment_n to_o convert_v unto_o
