and_o that_o be_v express_v 1._o if_o we_o look_v upon_o the_o cause_n of_o his_o suffering_n it_o be_v not_o suffer_v but_o the_o cause_n of_o suffer_v that_o cast_v disgrace_n or_o dirt_n upon_o a_o man_n that_o make_v he_o contemptible_a because_o he_o suffer_v as_o the_o say_n of_o old_a in_o this_o case_n be_v non_fw-la paena_fw-la sed_fw-la causa_fw-la facit_fw-la martyrem_fw-la nor_o it_o be_v not_o the_o punishment_n but_o the_o cause_n that_o make_v a_o malefactor_n and_o so_o make_v a_o man_n liable_a to_o shame_n and_o reproach_n if_o a_o man_n suffer_v for_o a_o good_a cause_n it_o be_v honorificall_a not_o shameful_a and_o reproachful_a if_o paul_n have_v suffer_v as_o a_o malefactor_n his_o friend_n may_v have_v hang_v down_o their_o head_n and_o hide_v their_o face_n and_o have_v count_v it_o as_o a_o disparagement_n unto_o the_o family_n of_o paul_n and_o all_o his_o friend_n and_o all_o those_o that_o be_v in_o relation_n to_o he_o but_o to_o suffer_v in_o a_o noble_a and_o good_a cause_n not_o as_o a_o malefactor_n but_o as_o a_o martyr_n for_o the_o gospel_n sake_n there_o be_v no_o reason_n that_o any_o follower_n of_o his_o shall_v be_v ashamed_a of_o he_o and_o the_o apostle_n express_v that_o in_o the_o 11_o and_o 12_o verse_n of_o which_o i_o be_o make_v a_o preacher_n and_o apostle_n and_o teacher_n of_o the_o gentile_n for_o the_o which_o cause_n i_o also_o suffer_v these_o thing_n but_o i_o be_o not_o ashamed_a etc._n etc._n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v there_o be_v nothing_o can_v be_v cast_v in_o my_o tooth_n and_o however_o i_o touch_v afterward_o that_o it_o may_v admit_v of_o another_o interpretation_n and_o that_o in_o a_o very_a good_a sense_n yet_o i_o think_v that_o be_v part_n of_o the_o apostle_n meaning_n to_o express_v the_o manner_n how_o he_o shall_v hold_v fast_o a_o form_n of_o sound_n and_o wholesome_a word_n verse_n 2_o in_o faith_n and_o love_n which_o be_v in_o christ_n jesus_n they_o be_v the_o two_o hold_v fast_n and_o the_o latter_a be_v express_v but_o more_o deep_a and_o from_o a_o high_a ground_n and_o strong_a head_n and_o that_o be_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o dwell_v in_o we_o he_o must_v keep_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v commit_v to_o he_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o indeed_o that_o be_v the_o spring_n and_o root_n our_o grace_n do_v immediate_o lay_v fast_o hold_v on_o these_o thing_n that_o be_v commit_v to_o we_o from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n that_o breathe_v in_o we_o that_o grace_n whereby_o we_o lie_v this_o same_o epistle_n the_o next_o chap._n 2.15_o he_o say_v study_v to_o approve_v thyself_o to_o god_n a_o workman_n that_o need_v not_o to_o be_v ashamed_a right_o divide_v the_o word_n of_o truth_n now_o this_o seem_v rather_o direct_o to_o aim_v at_o or_o at_o least_o direct_o to_o suppose_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o form_n of_o sound_n or_o wholesome_a word_n in_o the_o justify_v the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n nor_o to_o vindicat_fw-la that_o from_o the_o many_o subtle_a wind_n which_o the_o serpent_n will_v use_v to_o corrupt_v and_o pervert_v that_o will_v redound_v to_o the_o church_n of_o god_n in_o general_a and_o to_o every_o christian_a in_o particular_a by_o this_o let_v i_o name_n but_o some_o few_o and_o but_o name_v they_o of_o man_n agree_v in_o every_o particular_a opinion_n concerning_o every_o particular_a thing_n but_o if_o they_o do_v agree_v in_o the_o main_a foundation_n of_o religion_n in_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v sufficient_a to_o salvation_n and_o such_o be_v sound_a and_o wholesome_a word_n such_o as_o that_o all_o that_o be_v to_o be_v save_v be_v to_o be_v save_v by_o believe_v and_o practise_v of_o
