james_n 4._o length_n confound_v they_o body_n and_o soul_n they_o will_v be_v always_o root_a in_o the_o earth_n and_o scrape_v together_o the_o pelf_n of_o this_o world_n but_o the_o word_n tell_v admonish_v and_o exhort_v let_v we_o have_v forcible_a and_o unanswerable_a reason_n for_o the_o convince_a of_o our_o judgement_n and_o the_o win_n of_o our_o affection_n to_o the_o love_n and_o like_n of_o those_o good_a duty_n which_o we_o have_v be_v former_o negligent_a to_o perform_v if_o we_o can_v come_v thus_o prepare_v to_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o word_n we_o shall_v receive_v in_o the_o church_n among_o true_a christian_n object_n but_o though_o they_o do_v not_o hear_v the_o word_n preach_v yet_o will_n some_o say_v they_o pray_v very_o much_o answer_n what_o of_o that_o do_v they_o imagine_v to_o have_v any_o benefit_n by_o their_o prayer_n if_o they_o do_v they_o will_v be_v much_o deceive_v for_o solomon_n say_v he_o that_o turn_v 9_o prou._n 28._o 9_o away_o his_o ear_n from_o hear_v the_o law_n even_o his_o prayer_n shall_v be_v abominable_a let_v they_o pretend_v what_o they_o will_v for_o their_o wilful_a absent_v of_o themselves_o from_o our_o assembly_n and_o what_o meditation_n and_o conference_n they_o have_v concern_v it_o when_o they_o be_v depart_v of_o which_o point_v if_o they_o will_v without_o partiality_n examine_v themselves_o they_o shall_v easy_o discern_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o backwardness_n in_o their_o nature_n and_o in_o their_o practice_n if_o a_o man_n shall_v protest_v that_o he_o go_v to_o the_o market_n with_o a_o great_a desire_n to_o buy_v food_n for_o himself_o and_o his_o family_n yet_o if_o he_o always_o play_v the_o unthrift_n with_o his_o money_n and_o never_o bring_v home_o any_o provision_n we_o will_v not_o give_v credit_n to_o his_o word_n but_o account_v he_o a_o mere_a dissembler_n and_o the_o like_a censure_n may_v we_o pass_v on_o such_o as_o pretend_v they_o be_v willing_a to_o reap_v benefit_n by_o the_o word_n to_o the_o intent_n they_o may_v be_v able_a to_o help_v both_o themselves_o and_o their_o family_n and_o yet_o never_o carry_v away_o any_o thing_n to_o the_o purpose_n but_o if_o you_o ask_v they_o what_o point_n be_v handle_v they_o can_v say_v nothing_o but_o this_o sure_o we_o hear_v a_o very_a good_a sermon_n god_n be_v thank_v but_o my_o memory_n be_v very_o
