constant_o and_o continual_o to_o go_v on_o in_o his_o holy_a way_n as_o kind_o and_o natural_o by_o virtue_n of_o that_o godly_a nature_n whereof_o he_o be_v make_v partaker_n by_o the_o holy_a spirit_n even_o as_o the_o fountain_n spring_v and_o the_o river_n run_v and_o how_o soever_o there_o may_v be_v both_o in_o the_o regenerate_a and_o the_o unregenerate_a a_o heat_n of_o love_n and_o zeal_n which_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o their_o motion_n and_o action_n yet_o there_o be_v great_a difference_n between_o they_o for_o the_o one_o be_v like_o the_o heat_n in_o a_o bath_n who_o cause_n be_v natural_a and_o in_o itself_o and_o be_v therefore_o constant_a and_o continual_a and_o not_o abate_v and_o lessen_v but_o rather_o intend_v and_o increase_v by_o the_o outward_a cold_a of_o cross_n and_o affliction_n but_o the_o other_o like_o the_o heat_n of_o ordinary_a hot_a water_n which_o be_v natural_o cold_a and_o only_o hot_a by_o accident_n and_o heat_n of_o the_o fire_n be_v not_o constant_a but_o though_o for_o a_o time_n it_o may_v be_v much_o more_o hot_a than_o the_o other_o yet_o the_o cause_n be_v not_o in_o itself_o but_o outward_a and_o accidental_a when_o this_o be_v put_v out_o the_o heat_n continue_v not_o but_o again_o return_v to_o more_o than_o wont_a coldness_n for_o so_o the_o heat_n in_o the_o unregenerate_a be_v only_o cause_v by_o outward_a prosperity_n and_o temporal_a benefit_n they_o seem_v fervent_a in_o their_o love_n towards_o god_n while_o these_o continue_v but_o if_o this_o fuel_n which_o nourish_v it_o be_v take_v away_o and_o they_o be_v compass_v about_o with_o affliction_n and_o persecution_n they_o become_v more_o cold_a in_o their_o love_n and_o zeal_n towards_o god_n then_o ever_o they_o be_v before_o or_o else_o they_o may_v be_v resemble_v to_o a_o live_a body_n and_o dead_a carcase_n the_o one_o whereof_o be_v hot_a by_o a_o inward_a cause_n even_o the_o radical_a and_o vital_a heat_n which_o warm_v the_o blood_n in_o all_o the_o vein_n but_o the_o other_o howsoever_o it_o may_v be_v make_v hot_a by_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o fire_n and_o by_o much_o friction_n and_o rub_v yet_o it_o continue_v not_o any_o long_a than_o these_o mean_n be_v apply_v because_o it_o have_v no_o inward_a cause_n but_o they_o be_v remove_v it_o become_v again_o as_o cold_a as_o a_o stone_n or_o the_o earth_n and_o clay_n whereof_o it_o be_v make_v oil_n §_o sect._n 8._o the_o former_a operation_n of_o the_o sanctifi_a spirit_n signify_v by_o diverse_a metaphor_n as_o first_o wine_n and_o oil_n and_o these_o be_v the_o effect_n respect_v our_o repentance_n which_o the_o spirit_n work_v in_o we_o the_o which_o be_v also_o employ_v by_o diverse_a metaphor_n or_o similitude_n by_o which_o in_o the_o thereof_o to_o outward_a anoint_v in_o respect_n of_o that_o supply_a &_o soften_a virtue_n which_o it_o have_v whereby_o it_o mollify_v our_o hard_a and_o stony_a heart_n and_o make_v they_o to_o become_v flesh_n tender_a and_o pliable_a to_o god_n will_v and_o word_n and_o also_o because_o our_o power_n and_o part_n be_v spiritual_o anoint_v 20._o 1_o joh._n 2._o 20._o with_o this_o holy_a oil_n they_o be_v make_v strong_a and_o
