your_o majesty_n act_n of_o parliament_n and_o letter_n patent_n under_o the_o great_a seal_n of_o this_o kingdom_n we_o now_o in_o all_o duty_n and_o humility_n beg_v leave_n to_o represent_v further_o to_o your_o majesty_n that_o whereas_o in_o the_o say_a act_n of_o parliament_n and_o letter_n patent_n there_o be_v a_o special_a clause_n by_o which_o your_o majesty_n be_v gracious_o please_v to_o promise_v that_o if_o contrary_a to_o the_o right_n and_o privilege_n therein_o mention_v or_o contrary_a to_o the_o general_a treaty_n of_o peace_n and_o commerce_n between_o your_o majesty_n and_o any_o potentate_n prince_n or_o state_n in_o amity_n with_o your_o majesty_n the_o ship_n good_n merchandise_n person_n or_o other_o effect_n whatsoever_o belong_v to_o the_o say_a company_n shall_v happen_v to_o be_v stop_v detain_v embezelled_a or_o take_v away_o or_o in_o any_o sort_n prejudice_v or_o damnify_v that_o your_o majesty_n will_v interpose_v you_o royal_a authority_n to_o have_v restitution_n reparation_n and_o satisfaction_n make_v for_o the_o damage_n do_v and_o that_o upon_o the_o public_a charge_n and_o whereas_o likewise_o by_o the_o x_o and_o xi_o article_n of_o the_o treaty_n conclude_v between_o the_o crown_n of_o great_a britain_n and_o spain_n at_o madrid_n the_o 8_o 18_o day_n of_o july_n 1670._o it_o be_v special_o stipulate_v that_o in_o case_n any_o of_o the_o subject_n of_o either_o the_o confederate_n with_o their_o ship_n be_v force_v at_o any_o time_n through_o stress_n of_o wether_n pursuit_n of_o pirate_n or_o shipwreck_n to_o retreat_n and_o enter_v for_o shelter_n and_o harbour_v into_o any_o of_o the_o river_n creek_n bay_n havens_n roads_n and_o port_n belong_v to_o the_o other_o in_o america_n that_o the_o person_n so_o shipwreck_a or_o force_v a_o shoar_n shall_v in_o no_o sort_n be_v detain_v prisoner_n but_o that_o on_o the_o contrary_a all_o friendly_a assistance_n and_o relief_n shall_v be_v administer_v to_o their_o distress_n both_o for_o the_o sustenance_n of_o their_o person_n and_o reparation_n of_o their_o ship_n and_o conveniency_n of_o their_o voyage_n and_o that_o letter_n of_o safe_a conduct_n shall_v be_v give_v they_o for_o their_o free_a and_o quiet_a passage_n thence_o yet_o notwithstanding_o thereof_o a_o ship_n call_v the_o dolphin_n belong_v to_o our_o company_n be_v send_v from_o our_o say_a colony_n to_o some_o of_o the_o leeward_n island_n with_o a_o cargo_n for_o buy_v provision_n and_o the_o say_a ship_n in_o a_o few_o day_n time_n after_o her_o go_v to_o sea_n and_o ply_v to_o windward_n for_o the_o speedy_a passage_n strike_v unfortunate_o upon_o a_o rock_n spring_v a_o leak_n and_o be_v force_v to_o run_v ashore_o under_o the_o very_a wall_n of_o
