shall_v belong_v to_o he_o this_o he_o can_v believe_v for_o want_v of_o faith_n so_o that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v fain_o to_o come_v in_o and_o end_v the_o controversy_n before_o the_o soul_n will_v be_v satisfy_v 2._o if_o it_o be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o comfort_v the_o heart_n of_o his_o people_n then_o all_o the_o comfort_n of_o christless_a and_o graceless_a soul_n be_v nothing_o worth_a there_o be_v no_o true_a peace_n for_o they_o be_v not_o the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v the_o prop●●_n subject_n of_o this_o comfort_n they_o will_v not_o hearken_v to_o 〈◊〉_d nor_o learn_v of_o christ_n but_o they_o cast_v his_o word_n behind_o their_o back_n and_o break_v his_o band_n a_o sunder_o those_o that_o do_v not_o learn_v christ_n precept_n and_o follow_v christ_n canon_n and_o obey_v christ_n command_n they_o be_v none_o of_o christ_n disciple_n and_o to_o be_v sure_a they_o have_v not_o the_o 〈◊〉_d of_o christ_n which_o be_v the_o efficient_a ●n_n this_o 〈◊〉_d and_o 〈◊〉_d the_o root_n there_o can_v be_v the_o fruit_n for_o this_o inward_a peace_n 〈◊〉_d the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o therefore_o what_o comfort_n they_o have_v it_o be_v either_o a_o sinful_a comfort_n which_o to_o be_v sure_o will_v end_v in_o sorrow_n or_o else_o at_o best_a it_o be_v but_o a_o carnal_a comfort_n which_o will_v soon_o vanish_v like_o the_o crackle_n of_o thorn_n under_o a_o pot_n there_o be_v no_o peace_n say_v god_n to_o the_o wicked_a there_o be_v no_o peace_n with_o god_n as_o long_o as_o you_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o sin_n 3._o here_o they_o be_v stumble_v with_o the_o riddle_n that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v sorrow_v yet_o always_o rejoice_v as_o sorrow_v yet_o always_o rejoice_v the_o carnal_a world_n think_v this_o to_o be_v a_o contradiction_n though_o they_o be_v trouble_v without_o yet_o they_o have_v peace_n within_o though_o they_o have_v matter_n of_o sorrow_n in_o respect_n of_o outward_a affliction_n yet_o they_o have_v fellowship_n with_o the_o holy_a ghost_n the_o comforter_n which_o give_v peace_n in_o affliction_n joy_n in_o sorrow_n light_n in_o darkness_n which_o fill_v they_o with_o joy_n unspeakable_a and_o full_a of_o glory_n second_o if_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v the_o only_a comforter_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o god_n people_n then_o let_v i_o exhort_v every_o one_o of_o you_o to_o labour_v for_o a_o interest_n in_o this_o comforter_n friend_n i_o beseech_v you_o be_v restless_a till_o you_o have_v get_v some_o evidence_n of_o the_o comforter_n in_o your_o soul_n by_o the_o inhabitation_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o your_o heart_n without_o you_o have_v a_o interest_n in_o christ_n there_o be_v no_o comfort_n no_o true_a comfort_n to_o be_v expect_v no_o comfort_n in_o prosperity_n no_o comfort_n in_o adversity_n no_o comfort_n in_o life_n nor_o in_o death_n no_o peace_n with_o your_o conscience_n man_n may_v make_v a_o shift_n to_o keep_v themselves_o at_o quiet_a for_o the_o present_a by_o lull_v conscience_n they_o may_v have_v a_o kind_n of_o peace_n from_o a_o false_a principle_n ah_o but_o what_o will_v you_o do_v when_o storm_n arise_v wh●●_n will_v you_o do_v
