throw_v it_o away_o which_o before_o they_o have_v cry_v and_o roar_v for_o the_o old_a and_o true_a way_n to_o a_o peace_n between_o different_a party_n have_v always_o be_v by_o treaty_n and_o so_o be_v it_o hitherto_o judge_v by_o these_o man_n as_o themselves_o tell_v we_o but_o now_o they_o dislike_v it_o only_o because_o the_o king_n propound_v it_o and_o another_o way_n they_o have_v devise_v and_o that_o must_v be_v by_o proposition_n of_o their_o own_o make_n which_o by_o this_o their_o preface_n be_v promise_v to_o be_v such_o as_o benhadad_n send_v to_o the_o king_n of_o israel_n neither_o good_a for_o he_o nor_o for_o his_o people_n but_o destructive_a unto_o both_o but_o his_o sacred_a majesty_n the_o true_a mirror_n of_o wisdom_n meekness_n and_o patience_n receive_v from_o they_o after_o divers_a message_n and_o forty_o day_n wait_v only_o this_o reproachful_a paper_n which_o be_v able_a to_o stir_v passion_n in_o a_o very_a moses_n do_v send_v back_o on_o the_o very_a same_o day_n without_o return_v one_o word_n of_o ill_a language_n this_o ensue_a answer_n his_o majesty_n six_o message_n charles_n r._n his_o majesty_n think_v not_o fit_a now_o to_o answer_v those_o aspersion_n which_o be_v return_v as_o argument_n for_o his_o not_o admittance_n to_o westminster_n for_o a_o personal_a treaty_n because_o it_o will_v enforce_v a_o style_n not_o suitable_a to_o his_o end_n it_o be_v the_o peace_n of_o these_o miserable_a kingdom_n yet_o thus_o much_o he_o can_v but_o say_v to_o those_o who_o have_v send_v he_o this_o answer_n that_o if_o they_o have_v consider_v what_o they_o have_v do_v themselves_o in_o occasion_v the_o shed_n of_o so_o much_o innocent_a blood_n by_o withdraw_v themselves_o from_o their_o duty_n to_o he_o in_o a_o time_n when_o he_o have_v grant_v so_o much_o to_o his_o subject_n and_o in_o violate_v the_o know_a law_n of_o the_o kingdom_n to_o draw_v a_o exorbitant_a power_n to_o themselves_o over_o their_o fellow_n subject_n to_o say_v no_o more_o to_o do_v as_o they_o have_v do_v they_o can_v not_o have_v give_v such_o a_o false_a character_n of_o his_o majesty_n action_n wherefore_o his_o majesty_n must_v now_o remember_v they_o that_o have_v some_o hour_n before_o his_o receive_n of_o their_o last_o paper_n of_o the_o 13._o of_o jan._n send_v another_o message_n to_o they_o of_o the_o 15._o wherein_o by_o divers_a particular_n he_o enlarge_v himself_o to_o show_v the_o reality_n of_o his_o endeavour_n for_o peace_n by_o his_o desire_a personal_a treaty_n which_o he_o still_o conceive_v to_o be_v the_o likely_a way_n to_o attain_v to_o that_o bless_a end_n he_o think_v fit_a by_o this_o message_n to_o call_v for_o a_o answer_n to_o that_o and_o indeed_o to_o all_o the_o former_a for_o certain_o no_o rational_a man_n can_v think_v their_o last_o paper_n can_v be_v any_o answer_n to_o his_o former_a demand_n the_o scope_n of_o it_o be_v that_o because_o there_o be_v a_o war_n therefore_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o treaty_n for_o peace_n and_o be_v it_o possible_a to_o expect_v that_o the_o proposition_n mention_v shall_v be_v the_o ground_n of_o a_o last_a peace_n when_o the_o person_n that_o send_v they_o will_v not_o endure_v to_o hear_v their_o own_o king_n speak_v but_o whatever_o the_o success_n have_v be_v of_o his_o majesty_n former_a message_n or_o how_o small_a soever_o his_o hope_n be_v of_o a_o better_a consider_v the_o high_a strain_n of_o those_o who_o deal_v with_o his_o majesty_n yet_o he_o will_v neither_o want_v fatherly_a bowel_n to_o his_o subject_n in_o general_a nor_o will_v he_o forget_v that_o god_n have_v appoint_v he_o for_o their_o king_n with_o who_o he_o treat_v wherefore_o he_o now_o demand_v a_o speedy_a answer_n to_o his_o last_o and_o former_a message_n give_v at_o our_o court_n at_o oxon_n this_o 17._o of_o jan._n 1645._o for_o the_o speaker_n of_o the_o house_n of_o peer_n pro_fw-la tempore_fw-la to_o be_v the_o commissioner_n of_o the_o parliament_n of_o scotland_n as_o christ_n meekness_n and_o mighty_a work_n make_v his_o enemy_n more_o obdurate_a so_o the_o king_n mildness_n and_o many_o message_n make_v these_o man_n more_o obstinate_a who_o be_v as_o dumb_a to_o this_o last_o as_o to_o the_o former_a and_o though_o his_o majesty_n tell_v they_o that_o the_o god_n and_o blood_n of_o his_o subject_n do_v cry_v so_o much_o for_o peace_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v force_v thereby_o to_o utter_v his_o impatience_n yet_o these_o hard-hearted_a man_n have_v rather_o hear_v those_o sad_a and_o charge_v he_o with_o their_o own_o do_n and_o condition_n well_o his_o majesty_n after_o he_o have_v send_v this_o last_o message_n wait_v yet_o another_o month_n for_o some_o answer_n though_o to_o as_o little_a purpose_n as_o before_o he_o do_v but_o pursue_v the_o shadow_n that_o flee_v from_o he_o by_o seek_v peace_n at_o their_o hand_n for_o they_o be_v resolve_v by_o slight_v he_o to_o make_v he_o desist_v at_o length_n from_o write_v thus_o to_o they_o but_o behold_v the_o true_a image_n of_o our_o most_o patient_a god_n in_o this_o our_o most_o christian_n king_n who_o have_v to_o do_v with_o a_o like_a stifnecked_n and_o rebellious_a people_n as_o he_o of_o old_a have_v think_v it_o his_o duty_n to_o follow_v he_o still_o in_o the_o same_o path_n though_o with_o as_o little_a comfort_n or_o hope_n of_o prevail_a and_o hereupon_o send_v the_o ten_o time_n and_o offer_v to_o come_v and_o trust_v himself_o whole_o with_o they_o if_o he_o may_v but_o have_v their_o own_o faith_n and_o promise_n for_o the_o safety_n of_o his_o person_n honour_n and_o estate_n which_o themselves_o have_v so_o solemn_o protest_v to_o defend_v and_o that_o his_o friend_n who_o have_v do_v according_a to_o their_o duty_n and_o protestation_n may_v not_o for_o the_o same_o be_v deprive_v of_o their_o liberty_n or_o estate_n but_o enjoy_v both_o with_o a_o freedom_n of_o conscience_n desire_v to_o obtain_v their_o end_n by_o force_n rather_o than_o treaty_n which_o may_v just_o discourage_v his_o majesty_n from_o any_o more_o overture_n of_o that_o kind_n yet_o his_o majesty_n conceive_v he_o shall_v be_v much_o want_v to_o his_o duty_n to_o god_n and_o in_o what_o he_o owe_v to_o the_o safety_n of_o his_o people_n if_o he_o shall_v not_o intend_v to_o prevent_v the_o sake_n he_o offer_v to_o venture_v himself_o among_o they_o but_o they_o will_v none_o of_o he_o he_o will_v come_v to_o his_o own_o as_o they_o call_v themselves_o but_o his_o own_o will_v not_o receive_v he_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v amiss_o if_o the_o world_n to_o who_o the_o appeal_n be_v make_v shall_v call_v to_o mind_n in_o this_o place_n some_o few_o of_o their_o many_o former_a
