by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o visible_a church_n of_o england_n this_o doctrine_n of_o ceremony_n be_v set_v down_o we_o think_v it_o convenient_a that_o every_o country_n shall_v use_v such_o ceremony_n as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a to_o the_o set_v forth_o of_o god_n honour_n and_o glory_n and_o to_o the_o reduce_n of_o the_o people_n to_o a_o most_o peafect_v and_o godly_a live_n without_o error_n or_o superstition_n and_o that_o they_o shall_v put_v away_o other_o thing_n which_o they_o perceive_v to_o be_v most_o abuse_v as_o in_o man_n ordinance_n it_o often_o chance_v diverse_o in_o diverse_a country_n and_o thus_o we_o see_v the_o doctrine_n of_o our_o church_n do_v not_o esteem_v any_o ceremony_n as_o part_n of_o god_n worship_n but_o do_v disclaim_v it_o utter_o and_o for_o the_o application_n of_o their_o doctrine_n to_o our_o ceremony_n that_o we_o may_v see_v what_o manner_n of_o ceremony_n and_o of_o what_o nature_n the_o church_n of_o england_n do_v propose_v to_o be_v practise_v and_o with_o what_o affection_n such_o as_o practice_v they_o shall_v perform_v it_o the_o say_a preface_n to_o the_o book_n of_o common_a prayer_n say_v of_o the_o ceremony_n prescribe_v in_o that_o book_n that_o they_o be_v retain_v for_o a_o discipline_n and_o order_n which_o upon_o just_a cause_n may_v be_v alter_v and_o change_v and_o therefore_o not_o to_o be_v esteem_v equal_a to_o god_n law_n now_o according_a to_o this_o doctrine_n and_o application_n thereof_o by_o our_o church_n all_o doctrine_n and_o practice_n of_o intention_n and_o action_n shall_v be_v conform_v to_o this_o they_o shall_v be_v refer_v if_o there_o be_v any_o contrary_a direction_n or_o doctrine_n teach_v publish_v or_o enjoin_v by_o any_o one_o person_n or_o many_o together_o or_o in_o diverse_a place_n it_o be_v nothing_o to_o the_o point_n for_o they_o who_o preach_v esteem_v practiâ—e_v and_o impose_v any_o ceremony_n otherwise_o by_o any_o conceit_n word_n or_o act_n then_o according_a to_o the_o afore_o mention_v direction_n they_o do_v it_o contrary_a to_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n and_o it_o be_v to_o be_v esteem_v as_o the_o judgement_n and_o practice_n of_o private_a person_n violate_v the_o doctrine_n and_o law_n of_o this_o church_n for_o the_o which_o they_o shall_v answer_v unto_o god_n and_o be_v liable_a to_o the_o censure_n of_o authority_n whatsoever_o ceremony_n therefore_o of_o our_o church_n be_v either_o impose_v or_o the_o omission_n censure_v by_o any_o person_n or_o by_o any_o minister_n practise_v or_o observe_v by_o superstitious_a or_o ignorant_a people_n as_o a_o part_n of_o god_n worship_n be_v only_o accidental_a adherent_a and_o not_o inherent_a to_o our_o church_n neither_o ought_v it_o to_o be_v lay_v unto_o the_o charge_n of_o our_o church_n neither_o do_v any_o of_o the_o divine_n 39_o abridg._n fol._n 38._o 39_o mention_v in_o the_o deprive_v minister_n reason_n may_v all_o free_o and_o aught_o as_o in_o obedience_n to_o the_o church_n confess_v the_o doctrine_n thereof_o agree_v to_o god_n word_n and_o conform_v unto_o the_o ceremony_n according_a to_o the_o doctrine_n namely_o as_o to_o thing_n which_o be_v no_o worship_n of_o god_n nor_o needful_a to_o salvation_n and_o as_o for_o they_o that_o hold_v teach_v or_o conform_v unto_o they_o as_o to_o the_o part_n of_o god_n worship_n they_o be_v to_o be_v esteem_v as_o malefactor_n condemn_v by_o the_o church_n which_o can_v no_o more_o prejudice_n the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n than_o the_o practice_n of_o thief_n rebel_n and_o murderer_n can_v prejudice_n the_o good_a law_n of_o our_o commonwealth_n that_o be_v make_v against_o they_o and_o it_o be_v no_o less_o strange_a to_o blemish_v our_o church_n with_o the_o judgement_n or_o practice_n of_o the_o one_o then_o to_o brand_v the_o commonwealth_n with_o the_o practice_n of_o the_o other_o now_o where_o my_o brethren_n say_v that_o the_o apostle_n neither_o observe_v nor_o impose_v the_o ceremony_n of_o the_o jew_n as_o part_n of_o god_n worship_n i_o refer_v they_o to_o my_o answer_n in_o the_o former_a member_n touch_v the_o freedom_n of_o their_o teach_n and_o the_o like_a but_o now_o whereas_o it_o be_v demand_v further_o by_o my_o brethren_n what_o it_o be_v unto_o the_o purpose_n i_o allege_v that_o the_o jew_n
