to_o the_o solemn_a worship_n of_o god_n in_o memory_n of_o his_o special_a blessing_n vouchsafe_v to_o the_o church_n on_o such_o day_n and_o to_o account_v such_o day_n so_o consecrate_v more_o holy_a than_o other_o be_v lawful_a and_o free_a from_o all_o superstition_n and_o judaisme_n and_o however_o that_o they_o who_o will_v fain_o affix_v so_o extraordinary_a holiness_n to_o the_o lord_n day_n shall_v of_o all_o man_n have_v abstain_v from_o this_o last_o imputation_n till_o they_o have_v better_o prove_v the_o immediate_o divine_a

will_v not_o be_v amiss_o before_o we_o proceed_v any_o further_a to_o answer_v some_o of_o the_o principal_a argument_n that_o be_v bring_v to_o this_o purpose_n and_o i_o will_v begin_v with_o that_o of_o our_o saviour_n math._n 1._o 5._o 17._o think_v not_o that_o i_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n or_o the_o prophet_n i_o come_v not_o to_o destroy_v but_o to_o fulfil_v which_o word_n in_o their_o opinion_n make_v strong_o for_o the_o morality_n and_o perpetual_a obligation_n of_o the_o four_o commandment_n for_o from_o hence_o they_o argue_v to_o this_o purpose_n that_o which_o our_o saviour_n do_v not_o destroy_v but_o fulfil_v be_v still_o in_o force_n but_o he_o do_v not_o destroy_v the_o law_n contain_v in_o the_o decalogue_n therefore_o it_o be_v still_o in_o force_n or_o title_n shall_v pass_v from_o the_o law_n but_o both_o these_o be_v beside_o the_o meaning_n and_o intent_n of_o our_o saviour_n as_o will_v easy_o appear_v to_o any_o that_o with_o indifferency_n do_v consider_v his_o word_n for_o first_o the_o law_n which_o our_o saviour_n here_o speak_v of_o be_v of_o large_a extent_n and_o latitude_n and_o comprehend_v not_o only_o the_o decalogue_n or_o law_n moral_a but_o the_o ceremonial_a and_o judicial_a also_o as_o be_v indeed_o put_v for_o the_o pentateuch_n or_o five_o book_n of_o moses_n and_o so_o the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n as_o much_o as_o moses_n 12._o and_o the_o prophet_n which_o form_n of_o speech_n be_v use_v as_o a_o periphrasis_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n of_o which_o these_o two_o be_v the_o main_a essential_a part_n the_o book_n of_o moses_n so_o contain_v and_o describe_v the_o law_n that_o they_o reserre_v whatsoever_o else_o they_o contain_v unto_o that_o receive_v their_o denomination_n from_o it_o as_o from_o the_o principal_a subject_n of_o they_o the_o prophet_n that_o be_v their_o book_n comprehend_v all_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n which_o the_o hebrew_n divide_v into_o the_o former_a and_o latter_a prophet_n and_o the_o hagiographa_n 〈◊〉_d all_o which_o though_o they_o be_v not_o prophecy_n be_v write_v by_o divine_a inspiration_n and_o by_o holy_a man_n as_o they_o be_v move_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n may_v just_o be_v term_v the_o word_n of_o prophecy_n and_o pass_v 1._o under_o the_o name_n of_o the_o prophet_n that_o the_o law_n be_v take_v in_o verse_n 18._o and_o therefore_o interpreter_n general_o upon_o this_o place_n show_v how_o our_o saviour_n do_v not_o destroy_v but_o fulfil_v the_o ceremonial_a law_n also_o as_o well_o as_o the_o moral_a which_o be_v altogether_o needless_a if_o by_o the_o law_n that_o only_o be_v understand_v now_o the_o law_n be_v as_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v thus_o large_o take_v any_o man_n may_v easy_o
