there_o be_v a_o discovery_n of_o these_o in_o a_o manner_n and_o measure_n to_o all_o for_o all_o have_v that_o spiritual_a light_n all_o have_v notice_n of_o that_o ambassage_n of_o peace_n of_o love_n and_o of_o life_n bring_v they_o in_o and_o by_o christ_n and_o by_o that_o overbear_a power_n and_o light_n those_o good_a thing_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o gospel_n be_v discover_v so_o convict_o and_o set_v on_o so_o efficacious_o that_o the_o heart_n be_v keep_v to_o they_o by_o such_o a_o knowledge_n they_o come_v to_o be_v apprehend_v and_o receive_v but_o there_o be_v a_o reflect_v act_n when_o our_o understanding_n view_v and_o look_n over_o the_o work_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o heart_n so_o that_o we_o know_v that_o we_o do_v know_v and_o know_v that_o we_o do_v receive_v this_o the_o saint_n may_v and_o do_v want_v many_o time_n for_o some_o while_n we_o have_v this_o dispatch_v the_o four_o particular_n and_o so_o clear_v our_o way_n to_o the_o understanding_n of_o the_o doctrine_n propose_v which_o be_v the_o saint_n have_v a_o special_a knowledge_n that_o the_o lord_n christ_n be_v send_v of_o god_n the_o father_n for_o the_o work_n of_o their_o salvation_n we_o shall_v now_o proceed_v to_o the_o reason_n and_o use_v in_o few_o word_n the_o reason_n of_o the_o point_n be_v double_a 1._o from_o the_o office_n of_o our_o saviour_n 1._o reas_n 1._o and_o the_o aim_n and_o scope_n he_o have_v in_o the_o execution_n of_o the_o work_n thereof_o he_o come_v not_o to_o do_v his_o own_o will_n nor_o to_o seek_v his_o own_o glory_n but_o to_o do_v the_o will_n and_o seek_v the_o glory_n of_o he_o that_o send_v he_o therefore_o he_o must_v dispense_v all_o as_o from_o he_o draw_v all_o eye_n and_o heart_n towards_o he_o for_o the_o therefore_o etc._n etc._n we_o have_v then_o these_o two_o thing_n here_o to_o be_v attend_v 1._o the_o work_n of_o our_o saviour_n what_o he_o have_v do_v he_o have_v make_v know_v this_o name_n that_o be_v for_o time_n past_a 2._o the_o profession_n and_o engagement_n of_o christ_n what_o he_o will_v do_v for_o time_n to_o come_v he_o will_v make_v it_o know_v to_o the_o first_o i_o have_v make_v know_v thy_o name_n to_o they_o the_o doctrine_n we_o shall_v observe_v from_o hence_o it_o this_o viz._n to_o make_v know_v the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n to_o the_o true_o humble_a soul_n doct._n doct._n be_v a_o work_n in_o a_o peculiar_a manner_n appropriate_a to_o our_o saviour_n christ_n i_o say_v in_o a_o peculiar_a manner_n appropriate_v to_o our_o saviour_n in_o that_o he_o take_v it_o here_o unto_o himself_o as_o a_o part_n of_o that_o prerogative_n royal_a that_o do_v appertain_v to_o he_o i_o have_v make_v know_v i_o will_v make_v know_v as_o though_o this_o trade_n be_v whole_o and_o only_o in_o his_o hand_n this_o knowledge_n and_o science_n be_v only_o teach_v in_o christ_n school_n and_o be_v only_o to_o be_v learn_v there_o and_o that_o by_o himself_o alone_o and_o this_o be_v do_v to_o the_o true_o humble_a soul_n for_o such_o only_o be_v to_o be_v conceive_v as_o intend_v in_o the_o word_n they_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d with_o a_o eye_n and_o reference_n to_o that_o which_o be_v mention_v in_o verse_n 24._o to_o they_o that_o thou_o have_v give_v i_o these_o be_v believer_n but_o if_o you_o look_v at_o they_o as_o under_o that_o name_n and_o special_a respect_n in_o which_o they_o must_v be_v consider_v when_o they_o become_v as_o proper_a subject_n unto_o which_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n come_v to_o be_v manifest_v in_o the_o order_n appoint_v by_o christ_n this_o be_v the_o most_o proper_a expression_n that_o can_v be_v make_v and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n speak_v most_o exact_o to_o in_o this_o behalf_n so_o john_n 17.6_o i_o have_v manifest_v thy_o name_n to_o they_o that_o thou_o give_v i_o out_o of_o the_o world_n this_o as_o have_v former_o be_v prove_v can_v imply_v election_n proper_o for_o that_o be_v mean_v in_o another_o phrase_n in_o the_o same_o verse_n thy_o they_n be_v that_o be_v by_o election_n and_o thou_o give_v they_o to_o i_o this_o be_v a_o effect_n of_o election_n and_o so_o distinct_a from_o it_o else_o it_o will_v be_v a_o vain_a repetition_n which_o can_v fall_v upon_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n nor_o may_v by_o we_o be_v once_o imagine_v those_o who_o be_v give_v to_o christ_n be_v give_v he_o out_o of_o the_o world_n so_o verse_n 6._o that_o be_v out_o of_o the_o corrupt_a world_n but_o it_o be_v not_o a_o truth_n nor_o orthodoxal_a to_o affirm_v that_o election_n be_v out_o of_o the_o corrupt_a mass_n you_o see_v then_o the_o scope_n and_o full_a purpose_n of_o the_o doctrine_n propound_v and_o so_o of_o the_o place_n in_o hand_n we_o shall_v hence_o proceed_v to_o the_o explication_n which_o we_o shall_v do_v by_o open_v of_o three_o thing_n 1._o what_o this_o name_n be_v 2._o what_o it_o be_v to_o make_v it_o know_v 3._o why_o this_o be_v proper_o give_v to_o our_o saviour_n 1._o what_o be_v mean_v by_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o general_n signify_v any_o thing_n by_o which_o god_n come_v to_o be_v know_v as_o a_o man_n be_v know_v by_o his_o name_n exod._n 20.7_o but_o here_o it_o must_v of_o necessity_n be_v restrain_v to_o a_o narrow_a sense_n but_o what_o that_o be_v be_v hard_o to_o discover_v we_o may_v thus_o gather_v in_o upon_o it_o by_o the_o several_a circumstance_n in_o the_o text._n look_v backward_o to_o that_o which_o follow_v it_o be_v the_o discovery_n mercy_n as_o well_o as_o of_o man_n that_o must_v extend_v such_o love_n to_o such_o undeserving_a one_o again_o as_o such_o who_o be_v miserable_a and_o forlorn_a in_o themselves_o can_v have_v
