any_o doctrine_n or_o practice_n whether_o it_o be_v of_o god_n or_o no_o we_o shall_v find_v they_o lay_v down_o in_o the_o scripture_n and_o may_v thereby_o try_v any_o doctrine_n or_o practice_n when_o we_o can_v not_o so_o clear_o see_v they_o in_o the_o particular_n viz._n 1_o such_o doctrine_n and_o practice_n as_o be_v not_o repugnant_a to_o but_o agree_v and_o correspond_v with_o the_o fundamental_a article_n of_o the_o christian_a religion_n or_o the_o first_o principle_n that_o be_v according_a to_o the_o proportion_n or_o analogy_n of_o faith_n rom._n 12.6_o they_o be_v of_o god_n receive_v and_o embrace_v they_o but_o if_o they_o be_v not_o consonant_a thereunto_o then_o reject_v they_o 2_o such_o doctrine_n and_o practice_n as_o tend_v to_o holiness_n tit._n 1.2_o shun_v as_o not_o of_o god_n this_o mark_n discover_v the_o evil_a of_o such_o opinion_n as_o teach_v man_n to_o cast_v off_o sabbath_n ordinance_n scripture_n family_n and_o closet_n devotion_n and_o other_o libertine_n principle_n yet_o here_o beware_v on_o the_o contrary_a of_o a_o pretend_a holiness_n above_o what_o be_v write_v of_o be_v righteous_a over_o much_o above_z and_z beyond_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o word_n this_o be_v the_o occasion_n of_o monkish_a or_o solitary_a live_n among_o the_o papist_n of_o their_o pretend_a holy_a order_n vow_n etc._n etc._n and_o among_o other_o it_o have_v cause_v separation_n superstition_n and_o many_o other_o irregular_a act_n 3_o such_o doctrine_n and_o way_n as_o tend_v not_o to_o division_n and_o faction_n but_o to_o peace_n love_n and_o union_n among_o such_o as_o fear_v god_n those_o be_v of_o god_n and_o to_o be_v follow_v by_o we_o 1_o cor._n 1.10_o phil._n 2.1_o 2._o eph._n 4.3_o 4_o 5_o 6._o but_o the_o contrary_a to_o be_v shun_v and_o avoid_v rom._n 16.17_o 4_o such_o thing_n as_o tend_v to_o edification_n and_o to_o further_a the_o salvation_n of_o our_o soul_n be_v to_o be_v receive_v as_o of_o god_n 1_o cor._n after_o you_o have_v thus_o do_v the_o utmost_a you_o be_v able_a to_o find_v out_o the_o mind_n of_o god_n in_o these_o controvert_v
