soul_n to_o hell_n who_o loathe_v all_o remedy_n can_v taste_v any_o thing_n which_o shall_v do_v it_o good_a but_o belong_v for_o all_o sinful_a matter_n whereby_o it_o be_v every_o hour_n make_v ripe_a for_o hell_n certain_o where_o the_o conscience_n can_v but_o confess_v a_o life_n to_o come_v how_o fearful_a be_v this_o condition_n which_o evident_o show_v the_o soul_n to_o be_v dead_a unto_o that_o life_n dead_a in_o sin_n and_o trespass_n for_o what_o life_n can_v be_v in_o any_o creature_n which_o desire_v not_o and_o that_o necessary_o the_o mean_n whereby_o this_o life_n be_v maintain_v thrive_v and_o prosper_v what_o affection_n of_o life_n where_o we_o delight_v not_o in_o that_o which_o preserve_v it_o now_o be_v this_o death_n as_o in_o the_o death_n of_o beast_n the_o deprivation_n only_o of_o life_n and_o so_o a_o perpetual_a sleep_n without_o dream_n a_o senselessness_n without_o any_o either_o pleasure_n or_o trouble_v it_o be_v the_o less_o miserable_a but_o when_o the_o heart_n know_v that_o after_o this_o life_n so_o short_a there_o succeed_v another_o which_o be_v endless_a where_o both_o soul_n and_o body_n again_o unite_v shall_v continue_v for_o ever_o either_o in_o a_o most_o joyful_a glory_n or_o a_o hellish_a torment_n no_o hope_n of_o change_n how_o miserable_a be_v this_o estate_n which_o testify_v to_o our_o face_n that_o we_o have_v no_o sign_n of_o this_o life_n but_o be_v mark_v to_o that_o endless_a and_o fearful_a perdition_n consolat_a now_o how_o sovereign_a a_o cordial_a be_v this_o doctrine_n to_o those_o who_o can_v true_o apply_v it_o to_o their_o own_o soul_n if_o thou_o finde_v thy_o heart_n take_v pleasure_n in_o this_o word_n &_o thou_o can_v say_v as_o the_o prophet_n and_o as_o he_o true_o say_v thy_o word_n be_v find_v by_o i_o and_o i_o do_v eat_v it_o and_o it_o be_v the_o joy_n and_o rejoice_v of_o my_o heart_n 16._o thou_o shall_v find_v the_o same_o comfort_n which_o be_v there_o give_v to_o that_o saint_n and_o assure_v thyself_o that_o god_n will_v make_v good_a to_o thou_o what_o here_o he_o promise_v thou_o shall_v be_v bless_v sure_o even_o then_o when_o thy_o disquiet_a soul_n i_o exhortation_n suffer_v then_o the_o word_n of_o exhortation_n and_o labour_n for_o this_o delight_n in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n strive_v with_o thy_o dead_a heart_n to_o bring_v it_o to_o this_o observation_n that_o include_v diligent_a attend_v mark_v and_o remember_v 2._o in_o practise_v so_o what_o he_o there_o particulary_a commend_n to_o joshua_n he_o enforce_v other_o where_o general_o upon_o all_o deut._n 6._o 3_o 4_o 5_o 6â—_n 7._o etc._n etc._n where_o we_o be_v command_v to_o get_v these_o word_n by_o heart_n to_o teach_v they_o other_o continual_o to_o think_v of_o they_o that_o we_o may_v bring_v our_o heart_n to_o the_o love_n of_o god_n 2._o night_n and_o day_n be_v a_o phrase_n of_o speech_n imply_v not_o only_a frequency_n but_o such_o a_o continuance_n as_o though_o it_o be_v not_o without_o some_o intermission_n yet_o be_v without_o negligence_n careful_o and_o cheerful_o perform_v in_o the_o season_n of_o it_o some_o have_v think_v that_o night_n signify_v the_o time_n of_o affliction_n and_o trouble_n day_n the_o time_n of_o our_o prosperity_n and_o gladness_n and_o no_o doubt_n but_o darkness_n be_v in_o scripture_n often_o take_v for_o grievance_n and_o trouble_v light_n for_o solace_n and_o comfort_n no_o question_n also_o but_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n in_o the_o evil_a day_n and_o in_o all_o our_o rejoice_v to_o meditate_v in_o this_o word_n but_o see_v the_o former_a be_v not_o only_o the_o genuine_a or_o natural_a interpretation_n of_o the_o word_n but_o also_o include_v the_o latter_a by_o night_n and_o day_n must_v here_o be_v understand_v a_o continual_a revolve_v of_o the_o will_n of_o god_n sometime_o in_o hear_v it_o when_o the_o season_n give_v leave_v sometime_o read_v it_o frequent_o recollect_v it_o in_o our_o memory_n and_o without_o intermission_n express_v it_o in_o all_o our_o action_n and_o constant_a practice_n thus_o then_o run_v the_o word_n whosoever_o with_o a_o fervent_a and_o zealous_a heart_n give_v up_o himself_o to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o hear_v read_v think_v of_o it_o to_o practice_n and_o do_v it_o and_o that_o not_o by_o start_n but_o in_o a_o continual_a course_n of_o life_n and_o conversation_n this_o man_n be_v already_o bless_a and_o shall_v at_o length_n attain_v to_o perfect_a happiness_n 33._o proof_n bless_a be_v the_o man_n that_o hear_v i_o watch_v daily_o at_o my_o gate_n and_o attend_v at_o the_o post_n of_o my_o door_n bless_a be_v they_o that_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o keep_v it_o 28._o he_o that_o look_v in_o the_o perfect_a law_n of_o rain_n and_o the_o blessing_n of_o that_o almighty_a creator_n and_o governor_n all_o be_v in_o vain_a thus_o god_n have_v make_v the_o law_n to_o be_v as_o a_o coulter_n to_o break_v up_o this_o fallow_a ground_n of_o our_o heart_n send_v in_o his_o minister_n with_o this_o his_o plough_n to_o prepare_v and_o fit_v it_o so_o he_o give_v his_o gospel_n to_o be_v the_o seed_n of_o life_n cause_v his_o servant_n to_o scatter_v it_o nay_o make_v the_o same_o ordinance_n to_o be_v as_o rain_v and_o heat_n to_o draw_v out_o the_o virtue_n and_o power_n of_o it_o into_o our_o practice_n yet_o all_o this_o be_v do_v by_o his_o blessing_n he_o only_o give_v all_o the_o success_n and_o cause_v it_o to_o work_v to_o salvation_n use_v this_o first_o for_o instruction_n instruction_n 1._o
