according_a to_o scripture_n it_o be_v odious_a in_o they_o to_o contradict_v it_o by_o wicked_a rebellion_n and_o to_o evidence_n by_o their_o opposition_n that_o they_o be_v not_o tender_a walker_n and_o that_o this_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o heinous_a that_o they_o see_v his_o whole_a carriage_n and_o the_o nature_n and_o scope_n of_o his_o doctrine_n tend_v onâ—y_a to_o glorify_v his_o father_n and_o not_o to_o advance_v his_o own_o private_a glory_n doctrine_n 1._o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o the_o lord_n people_n not_o to_o receive_v doctrine_n or_o teacher_n upon_o trust_n but_o in_o search_v it_o out_o but_o only_o to_o inform_v their_o judgement_n or_o satisfy_v their_o curiosity_n may_v ready_o get_v leave_n to_o go_v wrong_n 5._o such_o as_o make_v conscience_n of_o know_a light_n in_o their_o practice_n be_v in_o god_n way_n for_o attain_v further_o light_n in_o dubious_a contraversy_n 6._o such_o as_o come_v to_o hear_v with_o a_o purpose_n to_o examine_v doctrine_n by_o carnal_a reason_n and_o to_o like_v or_o dislike_v of_o it_o according_a as_o it_o shall_v relish_v or_o be_v displease_v to_o their_o lust_n will_v ready_o reject_v sound_a doctrine_n but_o he_o that_o come_v with_o a_o subject_v mind_n and_o fix_a resolution_n to_o receive_v and_o obey_v what_o shall_v be_v find_v to_o be_v the_o will_n of_o god_n shall_v get_v a_o discern_a spirit_n unless_o god_n have_v he_o to_o humble_a for_o some_o former_a guilt_n of_o which_o he_o have_v not_o yet_o repent_v doctrine_n 4._o the_o great_a scope_n of_o preacher_n and_o of_o their_o doctrine_n shall_v be_v to_o deny_v and_o abase_v themselves_o and_o to_o exalt_v and_o seek_v god_n honour_n for_o so_o do_v christ_n teach_v ver_fw-la 18._o that_o a_o teacher_n shall_v seek_v his_o to_o go_v wrong_n 6._o as_o true_a doctrine_n do_v tend_v to_o set_v forth_o god_n glory_n and_o to_o exalt_v he_o so_o corrupt_a doctrine_n devise_v by_o man_n do_v not_o aim_v at_o god_n glory_n indeed_o whatever_o
it_o seem_v to_o do_v for_o in_o this_o respect_n also_o he_o that_o spake_v of_o himself_o seek_v his_o own_o glory_n the_o nature_n of_o his_o doctrine_n rise_v no_o high_a than_o his_o own_o or_o another_o creature_n glory_n whereas_o he_o that_o be_v true_a or_o sound_v in_o doctrine_n seek_v his_o glory_n that_o send_v he_o that_o this_o may_v appear_v consider_v 1._o many_o corrupt_a and_o erroneous_a doctrine_n do_v eminent_o exalt_v the_o creature_n in_o its_o merit_n freewill_n liberty_n to_o dispose_v of_o its_o action_n etc._n etc._n to_o the_o manifest_a deprive_v of_o god_n of_o think_v that_o he_o need_v a_o lie_n to_o set_v out_o his_o glory_n and_o to_o maintain_v error_n under_o a_o pretext_n that_o otherwise_o he_o will_v want_v his_o glory_n see_v joh._n 13.7_o 8_o 9_o 4._o as_o no_o erroneous_a opinion_n do_v tend_v to_o god_n glory_n so_o no_o erroneous_a person_n do_v real_o mind_n it_o in_o maintain_v that_o error_n but_o will_v exalt_v himself_o under_o a_o they_o be_v perfect_a though_o christ_n be_v so_o be_v truth_n and_o righteousness_n itself_o but_o that_o be_v true_a he_o deal_v righteous_o in_o not_o have_v any_o fraud_n in_o his_o doctrine_n verse_n 19_o do_v not_o moses_n give_v you_o the_o law_n and_o yet_o none_o of_o you_o keep_v the_o law_n why_o go_v you_o about_o to_o kill_v i_o christ_n have_v vindicate_v his_o doctrine_n the_o law_n void_a by_o their_o tradition_n doctrine_n 1._o faithful_n minister_n ought_v not_o only_o to_o be_v able_a to_o hold_v forth_o sound_a doctrine_n and_o to_o give_v a_o reason_n of_o it_o but_o also_o to_o stop_v their_o mouth_n who_o by_o unjust_a aspersion_n cast_v upon_o their_o person_n labour_v to_o frustrate_v and_o make_v void_a their_o ministry_n therefore_o christ_n have_v
