way_n or_o except_o these_o man_n have_v receive_v a_o new_a gospel_n and_o another_o dispensation_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n hitherto_o unknown_a and_o unrevealed_a chap._n ii_o touch_v the_o motive_n of_o the_o law_n whether_o these_o also_o be_v abolish_v so_o that_o to_o propose_v the_o expectation_n of_o reward_n as_o a_o invitation_n to_o good_a work_n and_o to_o deter_v man_n from_o sin_n by_o the_o fear_n of_o punishment_n be_v altogether_o inconsistent_a with_o the_o doctrine_n of_o grace_n not_o only_o the_o precept_n of_o the_o law_n be_v bequarrel_v by_o those_o man_n but_o also_o the_o argument_n of_o persuasion_n in_o do_v good-work_n and_o live_v a_o godly_a and_o holy_a life_n we_o must_v not_o at_o all_o look_n to_o any_o reward_n from_o god_n but_o must_v do_v good_a work_n mere_o in_o reference_n to_o god_n glory_n and_o the_o good_a of_o other_o otherwise_o our_o service_n will_v be_v mere_o mercenary_a grant_v indeed_o that_o we_o must_v do_v good_a we_o not_o encourage_v ourselves_o to_o cheerfulness_n in_o our_o obedience_n by_o have_v a_o eye_n to_o the_o recompense_n of_o reward_n which_o god_n have_v gromise_v do_v not_o the_o scripture_n propound_v a_o reward_n for_o our_o encouragement_n and_o why_o do_v the_o scripture_n propound_v it_o but_o that_o we_o shall_v believe_v it_o and_o by_o believe_v be_v put_v forward_o to_o work_v the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n upon_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n hence_o the_o conclusion_n of_o comfort_n be_v this_o promise_n be_v i_o my_o portion_n be_v in_o it_o and_o hence_o both_o peace_n and_o joy_n in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o now_o look_v upon_o the_o antinomian_a ground_n of_o comfort_n and_o let_v even_o reason_n judge_v whether_o it_o can_v produce_v any_o true_a consolation_n aforesaid_a name_n of_o particular_a person_n be_v not_o write_v in_o the_o word_n but_o what_o hinder_v that_o thou_o may_v not_o have_v part_n in_o christ_n the_o pardon_n be_v to_o all_o thief_n may_v not_o each_o particular_a take_v his_o part_n this_o general_a tender_a of_o free_a grace_n be_v as_o sufficient_a for_o satisfaction_n of_o man_n spirit_n as_o if_o his_o name_n be_v write_v well_o but_o this_o pardon_n be_v to_o all_o thief_n be_v it_o not_o if_o they_o will_v come_v in_o and_o sure_o it_o be_v intend_v that_o they_o come_v in_o as_o penitent_n not_o as_o perverse_a howsoever_o in_o the_o prosecution_n of_o the_o point_n his_o word_n do_v seem_v to_o drive_v far_a for_o thus_o he_o conclude_v in_o one_o of_o his_o sermon_n so_o then_o notwithstanding_o any_o sinfulness_n which_o thou_o find_v in_o thyself_o thou_o may_v bold_o come_v to_o christ_n and_o commit_v thyself_o unto_o he_o as_o a_o all-sufficient_a saviour_n touch_v the_o second_o author_n have_v a_o effectual_a work_a power_n in_o the_o conversion_n of_o man_n and_o cause_v they_o by_o repentance_n to_o return_v to_o god_n in_o as_o much_o as_o the_o efficacy_n of_o the_o ministry_n conscience_n but_o than_o do_v it_o perform_v this_o spiritual_a cure_n when_o it_o be_v apply_v and_o the_o sacrament_n be_v a_o mean_a of_o application_n a_o mean_a i_o say_v by_o which_o the_o spirit_n appli_v the_o blood_n of_o christ_n unto_o the_o conscience_n in_o which_o respect_n by_o a_o communication_n of_o phrase_n it_o be_v say_v to_o wash_v away_o sin_n act._n 22._o 16._o and_o god_n be_v say_v to_o save_v we_o by_o the_o wash_n of_o regeneration_n titus_n 3._o 5._o and_o christ_n be_v say_v to_o cleanse_v his_o church_n by_o the_o wash_n of_o water_n ephesian_n 5._o 26._o not_o christ_n finish_v the_o take_v away_o sin_n by_o his_o one_o and_o alone_a offering_n this_o i_o say_v be_v not_o to_o the_o purpose_n in_o as_o much_o as_o beside_o the_o pay_n of_o the_o price_n there_o must_v also_o be_v a_o application_n of_o it_o otherwise_o the_o work_n be_v not_o do_v a_o wound_n in_o the_o flesh_n be_v not_o cure_v by_o the_o preparation_n of_o a_o effectual_a be_v this_o break_v off_o thy_o sin_n it_o be_v a_o wash_n in_o conversation_n sc._n to_o manifest_v to_o the_o world_n that_o thou_o be_v another_o man_n and_o he_o note_v that_o one_o wash_v in_o respect_n of_o god_n imputation_n and_o wash_v in_o conscience_n in_o respect_n of_o manifestation_n and_o apprehension_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n may_v yet_o be_v exhort_v
