gross_a rank_n and_o stupid_a carelessness_n and_o sloth_n if_o thus_o then_o be_v not_o the_o doctrine_n of_o fall_v away_o any_o way_n prejudicial_a to_o the_o peace_n and_o comfort_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o respect_n of_o itself_o but_o mere_o accidental_o and_o occasional_o viz._n as_o the_o saint_n will_v voluntary_o and_o without_o any_o necessity_n either_o from_o within_o or_o from_o without_o compeling_o they_o break_v out_o into_o such_o extravagancy_n of_o sin_n which_o that_o doctrine_n be_v true_a may_v just_o fill_v they_o with_o fear_n of_o fall_v away_o and_o perish_v this_o i_o demonstrate_v by_o the_o light_n of_o this_o argument_n if_o the_o principle_n of_o the_o doctrine_n we_o speak_v of_o dissolve_v the_o efficiency_n of_o the_o say_v threaten_n towards_o the_o end_n for_o the_o accomplish_n whereof_o they_o be_v give_v than_o they_o render_v they_o unsavoury_a useless_a and_o vain_a but_o the_o principle_n of_o this_o doctrine_n be_v guilty_a of_o this_o offence_n ergo._n the_o term_n of_o the_o major_a proposition_n be_v sufficient_a witness_n of_o the_o truth_n thereof_o in_o order_n to_o the_o proof_n of_o the_o minor_a we_o suppose_v 1._o that_o which_o be_v evident_a enough_o viz._n that_o the_o end_n intend_v by_o god_n in_o such_o threaten_n which_o threaten_v those_o that_o shall_v apostatise_v with_o eternal_a death_n be_v to_o prevent_v apostasy_n in_o the_o saint_n and_o to_o work_v or_o cause_n they_o to_o persevere_v 2._o that_o this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o principle_n of_o the_o common_a doctrine_n of_o perseverance_n god_n have_v absolute_o promise_v final_a perseverance_n unto_o the_o saint_n and_o this_o another_o god_n will_v certain_o infrustrable_o and_o infallible_o work_v this_o perseverance_n in_o the_o saint_n these_o two_o thing_n only_o suppose_v the_o light_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o say_v minor_a proposition_n break_v forth_o from_o between_o they_o with_o much_o evidence_n and_o power_n for_o 1._o if_o the_o say_a threaten_n be_v intend_v by_o god_n for_o the_o prevention_n of_o apostasy_n in_o the_o saint_n and_o consequent_o to_o effect_v their_o perseverance_n the_o way_n or_o manner_n wherein_o this_o end_n intend_v by_o god_n be_v to_o be_v effect_v by_o they_o must_v needs_o be_v by_o their_o ingenerate_a or_o raise_v a_o fear_n or_o apprehension_n in_o the_o saint_n of_o eternal_a death_n it_o be_v the_o native_a property_n of_o fear_n mix_v with_o hope_n to_o awaken_v and_o provoke_v man_n to_o the_o use_n of_o such_o mean_n which_o be_v proper_a to_o prevent_v the_o danger_n or_o evil_a fear_v there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n imaginable_a how_o or_o wherein_o the_o threaten_n we_o speak_v of_o shall_v operate_v towards_o the_o perseverance_n of_o the_o saint_n or_o the_o prevention_n of_o their_o apostasy_n but_o that_o mention_a viz._n by_o work_v in_o they_o a_o fear_n or_o dread_n of_o the_o evil_n threaten_v therefore_o 2._o evident_a it_o be_v that_o such_o promise_n make_v and_o make_v know_v unto_o the_o saint_n by_o which_o they_o be_v make_v uncapable_a of_o any_o such_o fear_n be_v absolute_o destructive_a of_o that_o efficiency_n which_o be_v proper_a to_o the_o say_a threaten_n to_o exhibit_v towards_o the_o prevention_n of_o apostasy_n in_o the_o saint_n or_o for_o the_o cause_v of_o they_o to_o persevere_v 3._o and_o last_o it_o be_v every_o whit_n as_o evident_a that_o such_o promise_n wherein_o god_n shall_v assure_v the_o saint_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o apostatise_v but_o persevere_v be_v apt_a and_o proper_a to_o
