the_o error_n of_o rome_n especial_o to_o those_o that_o have_v not_o money_n to_o buy_v or_o time_n or_o capacity_n to_o read_v and_o understand_v large_a or_o more_o learned_a discourse_n for_o who_o service_n it_o be_v principal_o intend_v and_o some_o such_o thing_n in_o so_o plain_a and_o easy_a a_o method_n seem_v to_o be_v desire_v the_o gentleman_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n we_o may_v be_v sure_a will_v not_o be_v please_v with_o this_o method_n because_o we_o do_v not_o take_v the_o scripture_n in_o their_o sense_n and_o with_o their_o interpretation_n but_o those_o we_o think_v be_v comment_n which_o destroy_v the_o text_n and_o therefore_o we_o have_v no_o mind_n to_o they_o and_o we_o shall_v not_o have_v the_o text_n neither_o by_o their_o good_a will_n for_o they_o do_v not_o love_v that_o that_o dangerous_a book_n shall_v come_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o common_a people_n for_o fear_v lest_o they_o shall_v think_v that_o the_o text_n be_v against_o we_o do_v not_o know_v why_o we_o may_v not_o as_o well_o understand_v their_o sense_n as_o also_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n have_v the_o same_o mean_n for_o it_o only_o the_o worst_a be_v we_o want_v infallible_a part_n which_o we_o do_v not_o know_v but_o they_o may_v want_v as_o well_o as_o we_o but_o what_o be_v it_o but_o a_o great_a derogation_n from_o the_o holy_a scripture_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n the_o author_n of_o it_o to_o think_v that_o of_o itself_o it_o be_v equal_o apt_a to_o deceive_v as_o to_o instruct_v to_o induce_v into_o error_n as_o to_o lead_v into_o truth_n what_o be_v this_o but_o to_o level_v it_o with_o the_o heathen_a oracle_n that_o speak_v always_o with_o that_o ambiguity_n that_o no_o body_n know_v what_o to_o make_v of_o it_o and_o therefore_o they_o be_v as_o soon_o deceive_v by_o it_o as_o not_o but_o yet_o be_v not_o this_o in_o effect_n the_o very_a sense_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n or_o why_o else_o do_v teacher_n and_o professor_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v much_o more_o easy_a for_o superstitious_a and_o conceit_a man_n to_o obtrude_v their_o innovation_n and_o to_o back_v they_o with_o the_o pretence_n of_o tradition_n of_o which_o there_o have_v be_v many_o instance_n and_o hence_o such_o difference_n have_v arisen_a between_o tradition_n themselves_o as_o be_v plain_a in_o the_o controversy_n in_o the_o primitive_a church_n about_o easter_n and_o many_o other_o and_o can_v we_o think_v that_o our_o saviour_n shall_v leave_v his_o church_n to_o such_o a_o uncertain_a rule_n now_o when_o there_o be_v so_o much_o need_n rather_o to_o have_v it_o more_o exact_a and_o settle_a shall_v that_o be_v a_o rule_n of_o faith_n in_o the_o christian_a church_n which_o be_v whole_o disallow_v and_o decry_v in_o the_o jewish_a or_o be_v tradition_n now_o become_v so_o much_o alter_v that_o it_o be_v become_v so_o sure_a and_o harmless_a above_o what_o it_o be_v if_o tradition_n be_v take_v for_o a_o natural_a mean_n there_o be_v nothing_o more_o uncertain_a in_o a_o long_a tract_n of_o time._n and_o sure_a our_o saviour_n will_v not_o leave_v his_o church_n to_o such_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n pretend_v and_o that_o when_o they_o speak_v so_o often_o of_o baptism_n for_o instance_n that_o they_o shall_v never_o tell_v we_o of_o the_o salt_n and_o the_o hospital_n the_o exâ—cisms_n and_o wax-candle_n but_o speak_v only_o of_o be_v baptize_v in_o water_n in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n or_o that_o they_o shall_v never_o when_o they_o speak_v so_o much_o of_o worship_n tell_v we_o of_o the_o worship_v of_o saint_n and_o image_n or_o of_o pray_v for_o the_o dead_a when_o they_o give_v we_o so_o many_o direction_n about_o prayer_n etc._n etc._n we_o must_v hold_v fast_o the_o tradition_n say_v they_o which_o we_o have_v be_v teach_v by_o the_o apostle_n 2_o thess_n 2._o 15._o but_o we_o can_v believe_v that_o these_o and_o suchlike_a thing_n be_v ever_o teach_v by_o they_o when_o we_o have_v nothing_o at_o all_o of_o any_o of_o they_o in_o all_o their_o write_n and_o that_o exhortation_n can_v be_v then_o mean_v only_o of_o those_o thing_n which_o the_o thessalonian_n have_v hear_v from_o they_o and_o be_v very_o sure_a of_o that_o they_o be_v apostolical_a doctrine_n and_o which_o we_o doubt_v not_o be_v no_o other_o but_o what_o be_v after_o set_v down_o in_o the_o holy_a write_n and_o in_o they_o convey_v to_o we_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n to_o show_v that_o they_o be_v any_o other_o by_o tradition_n only_o when_o the_o traditional_a conveyance_n of_o point_n be_v evident_o so_o uncertain_a and_o that_o which_o we_o have_v be_v so_o warn_v
