together_o that_o be_v to_o say_v tare_n be_v sow_v by_o the_o enemy_n near_o the_o wheat_n in_o the_o lord_n ground_n and_o they_o will_v grow_v together_o till_o the_o harvest_n but_o true_o such_o be_v the_o love_n of_o our_o god_n to_o his_o ground_n such_o the_o benevolence_n of_o the_o almighty_a towards_o his_o church_n that_o he_o will_v never_o permit_v the_o wheat_n to_o be_v suffocate_v by_o the_o tare_n the_o evangelical_n doctrine_n by_o heresy_n and_o discipline_n by_o schism_n and_o therefore_o we_o have_v no_o reason_n to_o fear_v our_o church_n sustain_v so_o many_o assault_n of_o its_o adversary_n see_v it_o be_v buoy_v up_o by_o a_o omnipotent_a god_n as_o a_o pure_a and_o sound_a member_n of_o his_o universal_a church_n but_o true_o the_o pure_a and_o sound_a our_o church_n be_v and_o therefore_o more_o acceptable_a to_o god_n the_o more_o and_o fierce_a enemy_n it_o have_v among_o man_n who_o from_o one_o side_n to_o other_o set_v themselves_o whole_o against_o it_o and_o if_o they_o can_v destroy_v at_o least_o endeavour_v to_o disturb_v it_o for_o on_o the_o one_o hand_n popish_a priest_n on_o the_o other_o sectary_n traduce_v slander_n and_o wound_v it_o in_o their_o word_n and_o action_n they_o try_v all_o way_n to_o obtrude_v their_o new_a fangle_n and_o ceremony_n on_o we_o and_o that_o so_o they_o may_v either_o utter_o pull_v down_o or_o command_n that_o synod_n be_v summon_v from_o whence_o it_o appear_v that_o the_o nicene_n father_n use_v the_o same_o argument_n against_o the_o asian_a church_n that_o the_o apostle_n do_v against_o the_o corinthian_a which_o he_o deduce_v from_o the_o custom_n of_o all_o the_o other_o church_n also_o st._n cyprian_n have_v the_o same_o against_o novatian_n and_o st._n augustin_n against_o the_o donatist_n but_o epiphanius_n bring_v it_o against_o all_o heretic_n and_o likewise_o schismatic_n condemn_v they_o all_o of_o heresy_n that_o either_o in_o doctrine_n or_o discipline_n apostatise_v therefore_o our_o proposition_n may_v well_o be_v infer_v from_o they_o for_o this_o argument_n which_o the_o catholic_n church_n have_v always_o use_v take_v for_o grant_v that_o it_o be_v at_o lest_o just_a and_o rational_a that_o all_o her_o rite_n shall_v be_v every_o where_o retain_v upon_o which_o account_n we_o have_v more_o large_o prosecute_v this_o subject_n because_o hereby_o we_o may_v the_o better_o when_o occasion_n serve_v repress_v all_o the_o adversary_n of_o our_o church_n even_o the_o romanist_n themselves_o who_o assume_v the_o name_n of_o catholic_n do_v insolent_o glory_n in_o it_o for_o the_o romish_a church_n who_o faith_n and_o custom_n all_o papist_n be_v solemn_o engage_v to_o maintain_v have_v invent_v so_o many_o new_a tenet_n and_o late_o innovate_v so_o many_o superstitious_a ceremony_n either_o reject_v or_o unknown_a to_o the_o universal_a and_o be_v at_o this_o day_n so_o imperious_a in_o her_o command_n that_o she_o only_o deserve_v the_o name_n of_o a_o most_o corrupt_a much_o less_o catholic_n church_n for_o she_o have_v nothing_o common_a with_o the_o catholic_n nothing_o with_o all_o other_o church_n but_o rather_o all_o thing_n dissentaneous_a and_o repugnant_a except_v wherein_o she_o agree_v with_o we_o but_o omit_v these_o thing_n as_o not_o pertinent_a to_o this_o place_n let_v we_o rather_o advance_v those_o thing_n which_o we_o have_v hitherto_o discourse_v that_o we_o may_v the_o better_o accomplish_v the_o business_n in_o hand_n now_o then_o it_o be_v apparent_a from_o what_o we_o have_v already_o premise_v how_o expedient_a it_o be_v that_o ancient_a rite_n and_o manner_n observe_v hitherto_o by_o the_o universal_a that_o the_o same_o shall_v also_o now_o be_v observe_v by_o every_o particular_a church_n just_o so_o it_o be_v even_o in_o body_n politic_a as_o for_o instance_n in_o this_o very_a kingdom_n there_o be_v divers_a corporation_n burrough_n and_o other_o inferior_a fraternity_n all_o which_o be_v impower_v to_o give_v law_n to_o themselves_o and_o to_o their_o member_n provide_v always_o they_o neither_o do_v nor_o enact_v any_o thing_n contrary_a to_o the_o statute_n of_o this_o realm_n or_o as_o we_o say_v to_o the_o common_a law_n or_o any_o ancient_a custom_n that_o have_v be_v introduce_v and_o receive_v in_o this_o kingdom_n time_n out_o of_o mind_n and_o so_o have_v obtain_v the_o force_n of_o a_o law._n almost_o after_o the_o same_o manner_n it_o be_v with_o the_o universal_a church_n which_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n for_o this_o have_v its_o decree_n write_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o also_o have_v as_o it_o be_v a_o common_a law_n consist_v of_o some_o certain_a rite_n which_o though_o they_o be_v not_o express_o and_o in_o just_a so_o many_o word_n command_v in_o the_o say_a decree_n yet_o be_v so_o adapt_v if_o i_o may_v so_o say_v to_o the_o general_a design_n and_o purport_n of_o they_o and_o so_o useful_a for_o the_o propagation_n and_o establishment_n of_o that_o religion_n which_o be_v institute_v there_o that_o they_o have_v be_v observe_v at_o all_o time_n and_o every_o where_o throughout_o the_o whole_a argue_v first_o from_o divine_a testimony_n not_o indeed_o direct_o but_o by_o implication_n for_o as_o much_o as_o it_o appear_v from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o man_n be_v the_o image_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o the_o head_n of_o the_o woman_n but_o the_o woman_n the_o glory_n of_o the_o man_n make_v of_o he_o and_o for_o him._n the_o apostle_n large_o handle_v this_o argument_n to_o the_o twelve_o verse_n and_o then_o take_v another_o from_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n and_o the_o common_a custom_n of_o men._n judge_n in_o yourselves_o say_v he_o be_v it_o comely_a that_o a_o woman_n pray_v unto_o god_n uncover_v do_v not_o even_a nature_n itself_o teach_v you_o etc._n etc._n but_o in_o the_o last_o place_n he_o produce_v his_o clear_a argument_n comprise_v in_o these_o word_n but_o if_o any_o man_n seem_v to_o be_v contentious_a we_o have_v no_o such_o custom_n neither_o the_o church_n of_o god._n which_o be_v the_o same_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v but_o if_o any_o man_n be_v so_o contentious_a as_o notwithstanding_o these_o reason_n still_o to_o contend_v that_o it_o be_v lawful_a for_o a_o man_n even_o cover_v but_o a_o woman_n uncover_v public_o to_o pray_v unto_o god_n yet_o there_o be_v one_o argument_n behind_o by_o which_o both_o he_o and_o all_o christian_n must_v of_o necessity_n confess_v themselves_o convict_v which_o be_v this_o that_o we_o have_v no_o such_o custom_n neither_o the_o church_n of_o god_n now_o among_o we_o and_o all_o other_o church_n the_o quite_o contrary_a custom_n have_v obtain_v whereby_o man_n be_v teach_v to_o uncover_v but_o woman_n to_o cover_v their_o head_n when_o they_o join_v in_o the_o service_n of_o god._n i_o know_v that_o these_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n be_v interpret_v a_o little_a otherwise_o by_o some_o as_o if_o he_o affirm_v thus_o viz._n that_o neither_o they_o nor_o the_o church_n of_o god_n have_v such_o a_o custom_n to_o contend_v about_o matter_n of_o this_o nature_n but_o beside_o that_o admit_v this_o exposition_n the_o apostle_n will_v contradict_v himself_o because_o in_o this_o very_a place_n he_o sharp_o dispute_v with_o the_o corinthian_n again_o if_o we_o shall_v grant_v that_o the_o word_n may_v be_v thus_o expound_v it_o equal_o make_v for_o our_o side_n because_o it_o be_v evident_a even_o from_o this_o very_a sense_n of_o the_o word_n as_o well_o
