34_o 30_o 3â—_n 32._o nehe._n 10.28_o the_o other_o of_o the_o woman_n and_o child_n in_o nehemiahs_n time_n josiah_n as_o the_o text_n tell_v we_o not_o be_v above_o eight_o year_n of_o age_n as_o verse_n 3._o while_o he_o be_v yet_o young_a begin_v to_o seek_v after_o the_o lord_n god_n of_o david_n his_o father_n and_o in_o the_o twelve_o year_n he_o begin_v to_o purge_v judah_n and_o jerusalem_n etc._n etc._n and_o this_o purge_n and_o reformation_n he_o do_v by_o covenant_n wherein_o he_o swear_v to_o walk_v after_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o keep_v his_o commandment_n and_o his_o testimony_n and_o his_o statute_n which_o sure_o at_o that_o age_n we_o can_v conceive_v he_o do_v distinct_o and_o universal_o understand_v no_o more_o can_v all_o the_o man_n their_o wife_n and_o give_v by_o moses_n and_o to_o observe_v and_o do_v all_o the_o commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o judgement_n and_o his_o statute_n sure_o there_o be_v in_o this_o multitude_n not_o a_o inconsiderable_a number_n that_o be_v not_o acquaint_v with_o all_o the_o moral_a precept_n judicial_a law_n and_o ceremonial_a statute_n which_o god_n command_v the_o people_n by_o the_o hand_n of_o but_o not_o so_o in_o a_o government_n and_o dâ—â—â—â—â—pline_n set_v up_o by_o man_n by_o a_o church_n be_v it_o never_o so_o pure_a and_o holy_a for_o their_o light_n be_v but_o a_o borrow_a light_n and_o they_o not_o privilege_v with_o a_o infallible_a spirit_n as_o the_o apostle_n their_o resolation_n and_o ordinance_n may_v be_v liable_a to_o mistake_v and_o error_n and_o therefore_o to_o swear_v observance_n to_o they_o by_o a_o implicit_a faith_n be_v more_o than_o come_v to_o their_o share_n and_o as_o unwarrantable_a as_o it_o be_v unsafe_a for_o a_o people_n or_o person_n to_o do_v who_o be_v yet_o ignorant_a or_o unsatisfied_a in_o the_o whole_a or_o in_o any_o particular_a to_o these_o objection_n i_o rejoin_v oâ—â—ectiâ—â—_n answer_v to_o these_o oâ—â—ectiâ—â—_n first_o that_o that_o description_n of_o the_o covenanter_n in_o nehemiah_n that_o they_o be_v of_o understanding_n and_o knowledge_n suppose_v not_o a_o distinct_a actual_a cognizance_n of_o every_o particular_a ordinance_n judgement_n statute_n and_o provision_n in_o all_o the_o three_o law_n moral_a judicial_a ceremonial_a in_o every_o one_o that_o take_v the_o covenant_n that_o be_v not_o only_o needless_a but_o impossible_a but_o it_o imply_v only_o a_o capacity_n to_o receive_v instruction_n and_o information_n in_o the_o thing_n they_o swear_v unto_o though_o at_o present_a they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o many_o of_o the_o severall_n contain_v in_o that_o oath_n and_o so_o far_o this_o rule_n obtain_v among_o we_o child_n that_o be_v not_o yet_o come_v to_o understanding_n and_o fool_n be_v not_o admit_v to_o this_o service_n as_o not_o capable_a of_o instruction_n ans_fw-fr 2_o to_o the_o second_o though_o more_o considerable_a yet_o the_o answer_n be_v not_o very_o difficult_a for_o first_o we_o do_v not_o swear_v to_o observe_v that_o discipline_n but_o to_o preserve_v it_o i_o may_v preserve_v that_o which_o in_o point_n of_o conscience_n i_o can_v observe_v
