pardon_n in_o the_o first_o verse_n of_o the_o second_o chapter_n he_o say_v he_o write_v these_o thing_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o sin_v all_o true_a doctrine_n about_o christ_n and_o freegrace_n tend_v to_o the_o demolish_n and_o not_o encourage_v of_o sin_n but_o the_o apostle_n suppose_v such_o fragility_n that_o we_o will_v sin_v and_o therefore_o speak_v of_o a_o remedy_n if_o we_o sin_v we_o have_v a_o advocate_n now_o this_o make_v several_a way_n against_o the_o antinomian_a first_o that_o sin_n commit_v after_o our_o justification_n need_v a_o advocate_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o we_o be_v once_o justify_v our_o new_a sin_n will_v condemn_v we_o for_o all_o that_o be_v it_o not_o for_o christ_n second_o in_o that_o christ_n be_v a_o advocate_n it_o suppose_v that_o though_o god_n be_v a_o father_n to_o his_o people_n yet_o he_o be_v also_o a_o judge_n and_o that_o he_o so_o take_v notice_n of_o and_o be_v displease_v with_o their_o sin_n that_o do_v not_o christ_n intercede_v and_o deprecate_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n it_o will_v utter_o consume_v they_o thou_o therefore_o who_o say_v god_n the_o father_n be_v not_o offend_v why_o then_o do_v christ_n now_o it_o shall_v be_v prejudicial_a to_o salvation_n and_o all_o sorrow_n shall_v be_v ungodly_a what_o direct_a antipode_n be_v these_o to_o scripture-direction_n hence_o they_o repent_v that_o true_a and_o when_o our_o saviour_n bid_v we_o forgive_v our_o brother_n seventy_o time_n seven_o we_o may_v not_o think_v there_o be_v more_o love_n in_o the_o creature_n then_o in_o the_o creator_n and_o god_n kindness_n beyond_o that_o of_o a_o man_n be_v most_o emphatical_o describe_v jer._n 3.1_o where_o god_n promise_v a_o reconciliation_n to_o his_o people_n though_o they_o play_v the_o adulteress_n with_o he_o 2._o that_o we_o may_v with_o hope_n and_o faith_n pray_v for_o the_o pardon_n of_o great_a sin_n as_o well_o as_o less_o in_o justification_n by_o christ_n for_o great_a sin_n be_v as_o easy_o forgive_v as_o less_o though_o as_o be_v to_o be_v show_v the_o party_n offend_v do_v not_o come_v by_o pardon_n so_o easy_o and_o more_o be_v require_v of_o he_o now_o this_o be_v a_o good_a cordial_a to_o the_o afflict_a spirit_n who_o be_v apt_a to_o limit_n god_n in_o his_o pardon_n he_o may_v forgive_v such_o and_o such_o sin_n but_o can_v these_o great_a mountain_n ever_o be_v remove_v out_o of_o his_o sight_n sin_n of_o such_o a_o magnitude_n and_o aggravation_n but_o our_o saviour_n do_v not_o determine_v we_o in_o our_o petition_n but_o whatsoever_o your_o sin_n be_v pray_v for_o the_o pardon_n of_o they_o have_v it_o not_o be_v a_o great_a dishonour_n to_o christ_n if_o any_o disease_a man_n have_v say_v his_o malady_n be_v great_a than_o christ_n can_v cure_v he_o may_v heal_v other_o but_o not_o he_o no_o less_o injurious_a be_v thy_o doubt_n when_o the_o greatness_n of_o thy_o sin_n make_v thou_o stagger_v the_o obedience_n of_o christ_n be_v as_o much_o above_o thy_o great_a sin_n as_o christ_n person_n be_v above_o thy_o person_n pardon_n 3._o it_o suppose_v iteration_n of_o pardon_n that_o god_n be_v not_o weary_v out_o neither_o how_o easy_o may_v we_o think_v what_o hope_n be_v there_o to_o have_v i_o speed_v have_v i_o not_o a_o thousand_o and_o thousand_o time_n entreat_v god_n to_o forgive_v i_o such_o pride_n such_o vain_a thought_n such_o negligence_n in_o his_o service_n and_o must_v i_o still_o go_v to_o ask_v pardon_n how_o shall_v i_o look_v up_o into_o heaven_n any_o more_o and_o this_o temptation_n be_v more_o terrible_a as_o be_v to_o be_v show_v if_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n or_o sin_n of_o a_o more_o grievous_a nature_n that_o the_o petitioner_n have_v be_v overtake_v frequent_o with_o but_o as_o we_o if_o he_o be_v a_o believer_n the_o wage_n due_a to_o his_o sin_n be_v only_o temporal_a chastisement_n but_o to_o a_o wicked_a man_n it_o be_v eternal_a death_n i_o say_v this_o be_v not_o safe_a for_o although_o a_o believer_n sin_n shall_v not_o actual_o damn_v he_o yet_o god_n have_v make_v the_o same_o law_n to_o both_o and_o repentance_n as_o a_o mean_n be_v prescribe_v so_o that_o we_o therefore_o have_v the_o same_o motive_n to_o humble_v they_o as_o the_o apostle_n argue_v to_o which_o of_o the_o angel_n say_v he_o sit_v at_o my_o right_a hand_n etc._n etc._n so_o may_v we_o to_o incline_v to_o death_n though_o they_o feed_v on_o the_o bread_n of_o life_n now_o that_o these_o bodily_a disease_n be_v the_o common_a issue_n and_o fruit_n of_o sin_n appear_v leu._n 26.16_o
