who_o be_v all_o thing_n and_o we_o by_o he_o howbeit_o there_o be_v not_o in_o every_o man_n that_o knowledge_n for_o some_o with_o conscience_n of_o the_o idol_n unto_o this_o hour_n eat_v it_o as_o a_o thing_n offer_v unto_o a_o idol_n and_o their_o conscience_n be_v weak_a be_v defile_v but_o meat_n commend_v we_o not_o to_o god_n for_o neither_o if_o we_o eat_v be_v we_o the_o better_a neither_o if_o we_o eat_v not_o be_v we_o the_o worse_o but_o take_v heed_n lest_o by_o any_o mean_v this_o liberty_n of_o you_o become_v a_o stumble_a block_n to_o they_o that_o be_v weak_a for_o if_o any_o man_n see_v thou_o which_o have_v knowledge_n sit_v at_o meat_n in_o the_o idol_n temple_n shall_v not_o the_o conscience_n of_o he_o which_o be_v weak_a be_v embolden_v to_o eat_v those_o thing_n which_o be_v sacrifice_v to_o idol_n etc._n etc._n read_v 1_o cor._n 8._o 4._o to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o chap._n observe_v here_o that_o some_o with_o conscience_n of_o the_o idol_n do_v eat_v thing_n sacrifice_v unto_o it_o and_o their_o conscience_n therein_o and_o thereby_o be_v defile_v the_o christian_n who_o know_v there_o be_v no_o other_o god_n but_o one_o be_v warn_v by_o the_o apostle_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o sit_v in_o the_o idol_n temple_n at_o meat_n with_o those_o who_o eat_v their_o meat_n unto_o the_o idol_n lest_o their_o so_o do_v shall_v embolden_v those_o ignorant_a idolater_n to_o persist_v in_o their_o ignorance_n and_o idolatry_n for_o though_o some_o may_v say_v they_o do_v not_o eat_v it_o to_o the_o idol_n as_o the_o idolater_n do_v but_o for_o strength_n and_o sustenance_n to_o the_o outward_a man_n yet_o this_o will_v not_o answer_v the_o counsel_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o apostle_n nor_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n in_o their_o own_o soul_n but_o they_o be_v to_o abstain_v from_o eat_v with_o they_o at_o such_o sacrifice_n thereby_o to_o prevent_v embolden_v they_o therein_o and_o in_o chap._n 10._o ver_fw-la 20._o take_v his_o testimony_n against_o this_o sort_n of_o idolatry_n in_o these_o
word_n viz_o but_o i_o say_v that_o the_o thing_n which_o the_o gentile_n sacrifice_v they_o sacrifice_v to_o devil_n and_o not_o to_o god_n see_v act_n 15._o 28._o and_o i_o will_v not_o that_o you_o shall_v have_v fellowship_n with_o devil_n my_o friend_n these_o testimony_n i_o bring_v not_o only_o to_o show_v good_a conscience_n from_o evil_a conscience_n and_o weak_a from_o strong_a but_o something_o further_o concern_v they_o that_o be_v weak_a in_o the_o faith_n the_o apostle_n write_v to_o the_o believe_a roman_n write_v thus_o viz._n he_o that_o be_v weak_a in_o the_o faith_n receive_v you_o but_o not_o to_o doubtful_a disputation_n for_o one_o believe_v that_o he_o may_v eat_v all_o thing_n another_o who_o be_v weak_a eat_v herb_n let_v not_o he_o that_o eat_v despise_v he_o that_o eat_v not_o and_o let_v not_o he_o which_o eat_v not_o judge_v he_o that_o eat_v for_o god_n have_v receive_v he_o one_o man_n esteem_v one_o day_n above_o another_o another_o esteem_v every_o day_n alike_o let_v every_o man_n be_v full_o persuade_v in_o his_o own_o mind_n etc._n etc._n see_v rom._n 8._o 1_o 5_o etc._n etc._n my_o friend_n some_o unruly_a and_o some_o unskilful_a person_n of_o our_o time_n who_o will_v be_v account_v strong_a faithful_a and_o wise_a under_o the_o profession_n of_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n within_o have_v endeavour_v to_o strain_n and_o wrest_v this_o last_o cite_v scripture_n thereby_o to_o justify_v and_o cover_v themselves_o in_o the_o practise_n of_o some_o thing_n which_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o truth_n as_o it_o be_v in_o christ_n jesus_n as_o also_o in_o the_o omit_v and_o neglect_v of_o some_o thing_n which_o the_o light_n of_o jesus_n have_v lead_v the_o faithful_a into_o not_o only_o the_o elder_n or_o age_a in_o christ_n but_o the_o young_a also_o in_o bear_v with_o weakness_n we_o be_v of_o the_o apostle_n mind_n and_o concern_v eat_v of_o herb_n or_o any_o sort_n of_o food_n or_o meat_n we_o will_v have_v all_o who_o profess_v the_o light_n of_o christ_n jesus_n to_o wait_v diligent_o in_o it_o that_o by_o it_o their_o understanding_n may_v be_v clear_v that_o they_o may_v see_v as_o the_o apostle_n do_v and_o be_v persuade_v as_o he_o and_o many_o more_o be_v and_o be_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o unclean_a of_o itself_o that_o so_o out_o of_o weakness_n they_o may_v grow_v strong_a in_o the_o lord_n the_o same_o apostle_n who_o take_v this_o care_n that_o they_o may_v not_o judge_v one_o another_o about_o meat_n drink_n and_o day_n hear_v what_o he_o further_o say_v concern_v these_o thing_n when_o some_o among_o the_o christian_n will_v or_o do_v command_v to_o abstain_v from_o meat_n and_o will_v have_v it_o receive_v as_o a_o principle_n or_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n in_o his_o church_n than_o the_o apostle_n judge_v it_o and_o rank_n it_o as_o one_o of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o devil_n see_v tim._n 4._o 1_o 2_o 3._o observe_v whilst_o the_o abstain_v from_o meat_n in_o the_o before_o mention_v sense_n be_v practise_v as_o a_o weakness_n which_o it_o real_o be_v through_o shortness_n of_o understanding_n he_o bear_v with_o it_o and_o exhort_v other_o so_o to_o do_v say_v we_o who_o be_v strong_a aught_o to_o bear_v the_o infirmity_n of_o the_o weak_a rom._n 15._o 1._o but_o when_o some_o do_v account_v themselves_o strong_a and_o wise_a in_o christianity_n but_o be_v christ_n jesus_n this_o be_v accordiog_n to_o the_o apostle_n doctrine_n who_o thus_o go_v on_o gradual_o towards_o perfection_n be_v no_o apostate_n backslider_n or_o drawer_n back_o to_o perdition_n but_o presser_n forward_o for_o the_o complete_a redemption_n of_o their_o soul_n so_o these_o be_v in_o a_o better_a condition_n than_o they_o be_v in_o the_o begin_n of_o their_o profession_n of_o the_o spirit_n truth_n and_o light_n of_o christ_n within_o as_o he_o say_v â—very_n scribe_n that_o be_v teach_v or_o instruct_v unto_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v like_a unto_o a_o man_n that_o be_v a_o housholder_n which_o bring_v out_o of_o his_o treasure_n thing_n new_a and_o old_a all_o that_o come_v to_o this_o state_n walk_v in_o the_o light_n as_o aforesaid_a they_o increase_v in_o good_a order_n in_o the_o power_n of_o god_n and_o again_o christ_n say_v take_v heed_n what_o you_o hear_v etc._n etc._n and_o he_o say_v whereunto_o shall_v we_o liken_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n beautiful_a in_o the_o order_n of_o their_o growth_n now_o this_o grain_n of_o wheat_n and_o the_o fruit_n and_o product_v of_o it_o in_o the_o several_a degree_n of_o the_o growth_n thereof_o to_o its_o perfection_n be_v make_v by_o christ_n a_o parable_n of_o the_o heavenly_a seed_n of_o god_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o his_o people_n and_o of_o the_o several_a degree_n of_o its_o work_n and_o appearance_n in_o they_o and_o of_o thâ—ir_n several_a degree_n of_o growth_n in_o it_o from_o their_o infancy_n therein_o to_o their_o compleatness_n or_o ripe_a age_n in_o christ_n all_o you_o that_o profess_v to_o be_v the_o generation_n or_o offspring_n of_o this_o heavenly_a seed_n try_v and_o prove_v yourselves_o in_o this_o matter_n be_v retire_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o your_o mind_n and_o with_o the_o light_n you_o make_v profession_n of_o take_v a_o view_n of_o your_o state_n and_o condition_n and_o see_v whether_o your_o
contemn_v that_o which_o the_o light_n or_o spirit_n of_o truth_n have_v speak_v and_o dictate_v to_o write_v in_o its_o servant_n and_o child_n for_o the_o profit_n edification_n confirmation_n establishment_n &_o comfort_n of_o the_o body_n which_o thousand_o be_v child_n of_o the_o light_n have_v glad_o receive_v and_o find_v the_o great_a comfort_n and_o profit_n of_o these_o be_v not_o the_o light_n child_n these_o do_v not_o walk_v in_o it_o though_o they_o talk_v of_o it_o and_o though_o some_o of_o they_o may_v be_v full_a of_o self-confidence_n that_o they_o walk_v in_o it_o and_o that_o they_o be_v discern_v person_n wise_a strong_a etc._n etc._n yet_o this_o be_v their_o great_a mistake_n herein_o they_o show_v their_o spiritual_a darkness_n blindness_n nakedness_n recover_v out_o of_o the_o snare_n in_o which_o they_o be_v take_v and_o other_o so_o seek_v have_v not_o be_v gain_v but_o have_v persist_v in_o their_o evil_n do_v until_o god_n have_v cease_v any_o long_a to_o strive_v with_o they_o through_o his_o servant_n and_o then_o his_o servant_n have_v witness_v against_o they_o and_o declare_v their_o disunion_n with_o they_o according_a to_o christ_n command_n and_o some_o such_o be_v declare_v against_o as_o aforesaid_a have_v appear_v in_o great_a wrath_n against_o we_o like_o the_o rage_a wave_n of_o the_o sea_n foam_v out_o their_o own_o shame_n but_o we_o pity_v they_o and_o shall_v great_o rejoice_v on_o their_o behalf_n if_o they_o can_v yet_o find_v a_o place_n of_o repentance_n and_o return_n for_o it_o be_v true_a which_o christ_n say_v joy_n shall_v be_v in_o heaven_n over_o one_o sinner_n that_o repent_v etc._n etc._n again_o it_o be_v true_a which_o the_o apostle_n james_n write_v brethren_n if_o any_o of_o you_o concern_v their_o own_o state_n and_o condition_n a_o most_o gross_a and_o lamentable_a error_n be_v they_o in_o as_o the_o before-cited_n word_n of_o christ_n do_v plain_o show_v they_o be_v puff_v up_o with_o self-conceit_n that_o they_o want_v nothing_o when_o in_o reality_n and_o truth_n they_o want_v all_o thing_n that_o shall_v have_v render_v they_o to_o be_v that_o which_o they_o profess_v to_o be_v namely_o such_o who_o be_v complete_a in_o christ_n jesus_n the_o head_n of_o his_o church_n who_o be_v the_o fullness_n who_o clothes_n his_o member_n with_o the_o robe_n of_o his_o own_o righteousness_n and_o fill_v they_o with_o the_o bright_a beam_n of_o his_o divine_a light_n so_o that_o they_o see_v clear_o and_o he_o fill_v their_o heart_n with_o the_o riches_n of_o his_o grace_n in_o the_o abundance_n of_o which_o their_o heart_n and_o soul_n pour_v forth_o praise_n and_o thanksgiving_n to_o the_o lord_n god_n and_o the_o lamb_n who_o be_v worthy_a for_o evermore_o 3._o observe_v though_o their_o state_n be_v so_o miserable_a yet_o in_o his_o tender_a mercy_n he_o call_v they_o to_o repentance_n oh_o consider_v this_o thou_o back-slide_a whoever_o thou_o be_v and_o let_v the_o sense_n thereof_o seize_v upon_o thou_o and_o break_v thy_o heart_n repent_v and_o turn_v to_o the_o lord_n with_o who_o be_v forgiveness_n 4._o observe_v how_o christ_n charge_v this_o congregation_n to_o be_v blind_a and_o be_v blind_a they_o can_v not_o see_v their_o state_n as_o it_o be_v but_o in_o their_o blind_a self-conceit_n say_v it_o be_v what_o it_o be_v not_o 5._o observe_v that_o these_o blind_a self-conceited_a one_o while_o they_o remain_v such_o can_v not_o see_v that_o to_o be_v their_o duty_n which_o the_o child_n of_o light_n see_v to_o be_v they_o 6._o observe_v that_o we_o do_v not_o here_o read_v that_o these_o blind_a self-conceited_a laodicean_n do_v so_o oppose_v the_o child_n of_o light_n in_o their_o faithful_a obedience_n to_o it_o as_o some_o do_v oppose_v in_o our_o day_n we_o do_v not_o read_v they_o call_v they_o apostate_n 7._o observe_v that_o some_o blind_a self-conceited_a one_o in_o our_o age_n have_v appear_v worse_a than_o they_o who_o be_v not_o content_v with_o that_o ungodly_a
