true_o weigh_v and_o try_v it_o may_v prove_v but_o a_o vain_a vision_n and_o a_o divination_n of_o thy_o own_o heart_n as_o all_o who_o consider_v thy_o testimony_n of_o the_o law_n of_o faith_n in_o say_v that_o the_o discovery_n thereof_o arise_v from_o what_o be_v without_o and_o that_o it_o have_v never_o be_v know_v nor_o never_o think_v of_o nor_o never_o will_v it_o or_o can_v it_o rational_o have_v come_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n to_o have_v conceive_v such_o a_o thing_n but_o from_o the_o declaration_n of_o god_n in_o his_o promise_n here_o it_o do_v appear_v faith_n be_v a_o mystery_n to_o thou_o and_o thy_o eye_n have_v not_o see_v it_o nor_o the_o ear_n hear_v neither_o have_v it_o enter_v into_o thy_o heart_n to_o conceive_v faith_n in_o the_o work_n and_o operation_n of_o it_o and_o in_o that_o thou_o say_v well_o that_o it_o be_v not_o give_v thou_o to_o understand_v how_o it_o be_v write_v upon_o every_o man_n heart_n and_o thou_o have_v do_v well_o if_o thou_o have_v not_o stretch_v thyself_o beyond_o the_o line_n of_o thy_o knowledge_n and_o understanding_n for_o thou_o thyself_o confess_v that_o unto_o those_o first_o believer_n abel_n enoch_n noah_n abraham_n isaac_n jacob_n moses_n david_n daniel_n and_o the_o rest_n there_o be_v communicate_v unto_o they_o a_o spirit_n of_o faith_n and_o a_o light_n suitable_a and_o proportionable_a whereby_o they_o be_v enable_v to_o behold_v christ_n who_o be_v the_o object_n of_o their_o faith_n then_o if_o it_o do_v arise_v from_o the_o spirit_n of_o faith_n within_o they_o &_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n who_o be_v the_o author_n of_o their_o faith_n it_o do_v not_o arise_v from_o the_o declaration_n of_o god_n in_o the_o promise_n without_o so_o that_o the_o mystery_n of_o faith_n which_o be_v hold_v in_o a_o pure_a conscience_n be_v yet_o to_o be_v learn_v which_o be_v witness_v among_o the_o saint_n so_o when_o thou_o write_v again_o of_o the_o law_n of_o work_n or_o the_o law_n of_o faith_n or_o the_o discovery_n which_o the_o lord_n make_v to_o his_o creature_n under_o the_o diversity_n of_o these_o administration_n keep_v back_o to_o the_o measure_n of_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o then_o will_v thy_o testimony_n be_v no_o large_a than_o thy_o knowledge_n which_o be_v a_o guilt_n have_v spread_v over_o many_o in_o these_o day_n but_o this_o i_o say_v bless_a be_v the_o man_n which_o do_v not_o condemn_v himself_o in_o the_o thing_n which_o he_o allow_v and_o which_o do_v not_o destroy_v himself_o with_o the_o breath_n of_o his_o own_o mouth_n but_o there_o be_v a_o generation_n which_o their_o own_o breath_n as_o fire_n shall_v devour_v they_o again_o concern_v the_o light_n which_o every_o man_n be_v enlighten_v withal_o which_o be_v thy_o stumbling-block_n and_o rock_n of_o offence_n as_o it_o be_v unto_o all_o the_o rest_n who_o deed_n be_v evil_a thou_o say_v god_n have_v not_o anoint_v it_o to_o that_o work_n nor_o lay_v the_o weight_n of_o eternal_a salvation_n upon_o the_o shoulder_n thereof_o it_o be_v too_o weak_a for_o that_o service_n answ._n he_o have_v god_n anoint_v who_o be_v the_o light_n of_o the_o world_n and_o be_v as_o true_o the_o condemnation_n of_o those_o who_o deed_n be_v evil_a as_o he_o be_v the_o saviour_n of_o they_o that_o believe_v and_o as_o those_o that_o believe_v in_o the_o light_n be_v already_o save_v by_o christ_n so_o also_o those_o that_o believe_v not_o in_o his_o light_n which_o he_o have_v enlighten_v they_o withal_o be_v already_o condemn_v and_o so_o christ_n be_v near_o unto_o every_o one_o to_o answer_v every_o man_n work_n according_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o whether_o he_o serve_v sin_n unto_o death_n or_o be_v find_v in_o the_o obedience_n of_o truth_n unto_o eternal_a life_n for_o now_o be_v the_o day_n appear_v to_o try_v every_o man_n work_n of_o what_o sort_n it_o be_v and_o now_o be_v many_o offend_v because_o the_o light_n be_v break_v forth_o and_o their_o eye_n be_v evil_a because_o the_o lord_n be_v good_a but_o woe_n unto_o the_o world_n because_o of_o offence_n if_o any_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o a_o king_n let_v he_o search_v out_o the_o cause_n of_o the_o offence_n which_o be_v now_o break_a forth_o among_o the_o child_n of_o man_n that_o the_o enmity_n which_o be_v in_o all_o sort_n of_o people_n of_o all_o profession_n shall_v rise_v up_o together_o and_o become_v a_o body_n the_o wicked_a join_v hand_n in_o hand_n preach_v and_o print_v and_o cry_v for_o unity_n which_o they_o be_v make_v up_o of_o enmity_n that_o they_o may_v be_v strong_a against_o that_o which_o the_o lord_n have_v now_o bring_v forth_o in_o his_o light_n and_o power_n to_o be_v witness_n unto_o he_o in_o every_o place_n wheresoever_o he_o they_o call_v quaker_n and_o put_v this_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o his_o book_n than_o it_o pass_v with_o toleration_n and_o have_v as_o good_a approbation_n from_o the_o world_n as_o any_o of_o the_o priest_n have_v for_o their_o ministry_n but_o if_o any_o man_n begin_v to_o speak_v of_o the_o light_n within_o and_o the_o anoint_v within_o and_o the_o word_n of_o faith_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o of_o the_o mystery_n of_o faith_n in_o a_o pure_a conscience_n and_o of_o the_o sprinkle_n of_o the_o heart_n from_o a_o evil_a conscience_n and_o of_o believe_v in_o the_o light_n as_o christ_n say_v such_o a_o one_o speak_v of_o these_o thing_n and_o not_o direct_v his_o speech_n in_o open_a reproach_n against_o they_o call_v quaker_n the_o people_n heart_n will_v be_v fill_v with_o jealousy_n lest_o he_o be_v one_o so_o that_o even_o the_o light_n be_v become_v a_o reproach_n unto_o they_o and_o their_o derision_n daily_o but_o the_o lord_n hand_n be_v
