than_o sleep_v itself_o a_o sleep_n both_o sure_a and_o sweet_a when_o thou_o lie_v down_o at_o night_n to_o thy_o repose_n thou_o can_v not_o be_v so_o certain_a to_o awake_v again_o in_o the_o morning_n as_o when_o thou_o lay_v thyself_o down_o in_o death_n thou_o be_v sure_a to_o wake_v in_o the_o morning_n of_o the_o resurrection_n out_o of_o this_o bodily_a sleep_n thou_o may_v be_v affrighted_o startle_v with_o some_o noise_n of_o sudden_a horror_n with_o some_o fearful_a dream_n with_o tumult_n or_o alarm_n of_o war_n 17._o but_o here_o thou_o shall_v rest_v quiet_o in_o the_o place_n of_o silence_n free_a from_o all_o inward_a and_o outward_a disturbance_n while_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n thy_o soul_n shall_v see_v none_o but_o vision_n of_o joy_n and_o blessedness_n but_o oh_o the_o sweet_a and_o heavenly_a expression_n of_o our_o last_o rest_n and_o the_o issue_n of_o our_o happy_a resuscitation_n which_o our_o gracious_a apostle_n have_v lay_v forth_o for_o the_o consolation_n of_o his_o mournful_a thessalonion_o for_o if_o we_o believe_v say_v he_o that_o jesus_n die_v and_o rise_v again_o even_o so_o they_o also_o which_o sleep_n in_o jesus_n will_v god_n bring_v with_o he_o lo_o our_o belief_n be_v antidote_n enough_o against_o the_o worst_a of_o death_n and_o why_o be_v we_o trouble_v with_o death_n when_o we_o believe_v that_o jesus_n die_v and_o what_o a_o triumph_n be_v this_o over_o death_n that_o the_o same_o jesus_n who_o die_v rose_z again_o and_o what_o a_o comfort_n it_o be_v that_o the_o same_o jesus_n who_o arise_v shall_v both_o come_v again_o and_o bring_v all_o his_o with_o he_o in_o glory_n and_o last_o what_o a_o strong_a cordial_n be_v this_o to_o all_o good_a heart_n that_o all_o those_o which_o die_v well_o do_v sleep_n in_o jesus_n thou_o think_v perhaps_o of_o sleep_v in_o the_o bed_n of_o the_o grave_n and_o there_o indeed_o be_v rest_n but_o he_o tell_v thou_o of_o sleep_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o jesus_n and_o there_o be_v immortality_n and_o blessedness_n oh_o bless_a jesus_n in_o thy_o presence_n be_v the_o fullness_n of_o joy_n and_o at_o thy_o right_a hand_n be_v pleasure_n for_o evermore_o who_o will_v desire_v to_o walk_v in_o the_o world_n when_o he_o may_v sleep_v with_o jesus_n §_o 10._o death_n sweeten_v to_o we_o by_o christ._n thou_o fear_v death_n it_o be_v much_o on_o what_o term_n and_o in_o what_o form_n death_n present_v himself_o to_o thou_o if_o as_o a_o enemy_n as_o that_o be_v somewhere_o his_o style_n the_o last_o enemy_n death_n thy_o unpreparation_n shall_v make_v he_o dreadful_a thy_o readiness_n and_o fortitude_n shall_v take_v off_o his_o terror_n if_o as_o a_o messenger_n of_o god_n to_o fetch_v thou_o to_o happiness_n what_o reason_n have_v thou_o to_o be_v afraid_a of_o thy_o own_o bliss_n it_o be_v one_o thing_n what_o death_n be_v in_o himself_o a_o privation_n of_o life_n as_o such_o nature_n can_v choose_v but_o abhor_v he_o another_o thing_n what_o he_o be_v by_o christ_n make_v unto_o we_o a_o introduction_n to_o life_n a_o harbinger_n to_o glory_n why_o will_v the_o lord_n of_o life_n have_v yield_v unto_o death_n and_o by_o yield_v vanquish_v he_o but_o that_o he_o may_v alter_v and_o sweeten_v death_n to_o we_o and_o of_o a_o fierce_a tyrant_n make_v he_o a_o friend_n and_o benefactor_n and_o if_o we_o look_v upon_o he_o thus_o change_v thus_o reconcile_v how_o can_v we_o choose_v but_o bid_v he_o welcome_a §_o 11._o the_o painfulness_n of_o christ_n â—eath_n thou_o be_v afraid_a of_o the_o pang_n of_o death_n there_o be_v those_o that_o have_v die_v without_o any_o great_a sense_n of_o pain_n some_o we_o have_v know_v to_o have_v yield_v up_o their_o soul_n without_o so_o much_o as_o a_o groan_n and_o how_o know_v thou_o my_o son_n what_o measure_n god_n have_v allot_v to_o thou_o our_o death_n be_v a_o sea_n so_o the_o apostle_n 〈◊〉_d i_o desire_v to_o launch_v forth_o wherein_o some_o find_v a_o rough_a and_o tempestuous_a passage_n other_o calm_a and_o smooth_a such_o thy_o may_v prove_v so_o as_o thy_o dissolution_n may_v be_v more_o easy_a than_o a_o fit_a of_o thy_o sickness_n but_o if_o thy_o god_n have_v determine_v otherwise_o look_v unto_o jesus_n the_o author_n and_o finisher_n of_o our_o faith_n 2_o the_o son_n of_o god_n the_o lord_n of_o glory_n see_v with_o what_o agony_n he_o conflict_v what_o torment_v he_o endure_v in_o his_o death_n for_o thou_o look_v upon_o his_o bloody_a sweat_n his_o bleed_a temple_n his_o furrow_a back_n his_o nail_v hand_n and_o foot_n his_o rack_a joint_n his_o pierce_a side_n hear_v his_o strong_a cry_n consider_v the_o shame_n the_o pain_n the_o câ—rse_n of_o the_o cross_n which_o he_o undergo_v for_o thy_o sake_n say_v whether_o thy_o suffering_n can_v be_v comparable_a to_o he_o he_o be_v a_o cowardly_a and_o unworthy_a soldier_n that_o follow_v his_o general_n sigh_v lo_o these_o be_v the_o step_n wherein_o thy_o god_n and_o saviour_n have_v tread_v before_o thou_o walk_v on_o courageous_o in_o this_o deep_a and_o bloody_a way_n after_o a_o few_o pace_n thou_o shall_v overtake_v he_o in_o glory_n for_o if_o we_o suffer_v with_o he_o 12._o
