wherein_o he_o will_v judge_v the_o world_n in_o righteousness_n act._n 17.31_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v you_o shall_v be_v sure_a to_o be_v judge_v and_o therefore_o repent_v and_o yet_o we_o apparel_n and_o so_o many_o day_n in_o vanity_n who_o dare_v be_v drink_v who_o dare_v swear_v and_o lie_v and_o commit_v adultery_n what_o will_v become_v of_o our_o may-game_n dance_v green_n and_o bower_n and_o such_o conventicle_n of_o spiritual_a fugitive_n from_o god_n on_o his_o sabbath_n who_o will_v not_o rather_o pass_v the_o time_n that_o remain_v in_o god_n service_n and_o run_v to_o sermon_n and_o read_v and_o pray_v devout_o and_o bestow_v good_a hour_n well_o and_o not_o spend_v time_n in_o chamber_v and_o wantonness_n but_o we_o be_v not_o sure_a that_o that_o day_n shall_v tarry_v till_o may_n next_o and_o we_o know_v not_o that_o christ_n day_n will_v come_v this_o week_n or_o the_o next_o or_o this_o present_a day_n and_o hour_n or_o while_o i_o be_o speak_v of_o it_o and_o yet_o we_o walk_v in_o as_o great_a security_n and_o as_o desperate_o in_o sin_n as_o if_o we_o be_v certain_a it_o will_v not_o come_v in_o our_o time_n if_o we_o hear_v a_o sudden_a cry_n of_o fire_n fire_n we_o be_v astonish_v out_o of_o measure_n and_o yet_o hear_v by_o our_o preacher_n the_o lord_n trumpet_n so_o many_o and_o fearful_a threaten_n by_o the_o word_n concern_v the_o fire_n of_o hell_n and_o judgement_n when_o not_o a_o few_o house_n but_o the_o whole_a world_n shall_v burn_v like_o a_o oven_n we_o be_v not_o move_v every_o one_o almost_o will_v give_v his_o best_a help_n for_o the_o quench_n of_o a_o material_a fire_n but_o who_o regard_v to_o save_v himself_o or_o to_o preserve_v other_o from_o the_o unquenchable_a fire_n of_o hell_n and_o terrible_a fire_n of_o the_o lord_n come_v that_o will_v most_o certain_o we_o know_v not_o how_o soon_o flame_n out_o to_o the_o burn_a of_o this_o great_a sodom_n of_o the_o earth_n in_o the_o which_o the_o heaven_n shall_v pass_v away_o with_o a_o noise_n the_o element_n shall_v melt_v with_o heat_n and_o all_o thing_n corruptible_a shall_v be_v dissolve_v most_o speedy_o as_o if_o they_o do_v flee_v away_o 2._o take_v it_o well_o that_o after_o so_o many_o knock_v be_v and_o long_o stand_v without_o he_o shall_v find_v no_o door_n of_o admission_n into_o we_o or_o open_v by_o we_o and_o shall_v still_o be_v as_o the_o darken_n of_o the_o sun_n and_o moon_n the_o roar_a of_o the_o sea_n and_o water_n not_o by_o a_o ordinary_a but_o strange_a unquietness_n the_o fail_v of_o man_n heart_n the_o general_a palsy_n or_o shake_a disposition_n that_o shall_v be_v in_o all_o the_o heavenly_a power_n which_o shall_v be_v so_o violent_a and_o with_o such_o perturbation_n of_o all_o light_n and_o element_n that_o the_o star_n shall_v fall_v that_o be_v shall_v seem_v to_o fall_v from_o heaven_n and_o the_o sign_n of_o the_o son_n of_o man_n which_o i_o take_v to_o be_v the_o burn_a of_o the_o high_a heaven_n and_o this_o low_a earth_n which_o at_o the_o instant_n of_o his_o come_n shall_v be_v set_v on_o fire_n these_o and_o the_o like_a sign_n not_o of_o peace_n but_o of_o war_n to_o the_o world_n and_o not_o of_o favour_n but_o of_o great_a wrath_n to_o sinner_n how_o can_v they_o but_o pierce_v with_o fear_n all_o such_o as_o shall_v come_v before_o the_o lord_n in_o their_o sin_n without_o repentance_n at_o this_o day_n if_o the_o wind_n keep_v we_o in_o some_o awe_n when_o they_o be_v high_a and_o loud_o and_o if_o we_o fear_v the_o sea_n when_o it_o be_v but_o a_o little_a move_v if_o every_o sudden_a noise_n and_o crack_v at_o mignight_n fright_v we_o and_o if_o the_o thunder_n make_v we_o afraid_a what_o shall_v their_o fear_n be_v and_o how_o great_a the_o confusion_n of_o their_o face_n who_o shall_v stand_v in_o no_o faith_n and_o therefore_o with_o no_o boldness_n before_o the_o son_n of_o god_n when_o all_o these_o matter_n of_o intolerable_a fear_n shall_v come_v together_o and_o meet_v upon_o the_o then_o fiery_a stage_n of_o this_o world_n and_o be_v ready_a to_o execute_v in_o their_o fierce_a wrath_n and_o great_a power_n the_o law_n and_o will_n of_o their_o most_o excellent_a creator_n against_o all_o faithless_a reprobate_n four_o this_o will_v be_v a_o day_n not_o of_o mercy_n but_o of_o rebuke_n to_o all_o god_n enemy_n and_o of_o her_o appoint_a end_n by_o fire_n can_v but_o say_v that_o it_o can_v continue_v long_o and_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v come_v short_o among_o us._n when_o we_o see_v a_o man_n in_o who_o face_n wear_v age_n have_v many_o wrinkle_n and_o deep_a surrowe_n we_o say_v this_o man_n can_v not_o live_v long_o so_o when_o we_o see_v the_o furrow_n of_o old_a age_n to_o appear_v and_o be_v manifest_a in_o so_o many_o waste_v and_o consumption_n as_o this_o feeble_a world_n be_v enter_v into_o why_o do_v we_o not_o see_v that_o the_o death_n of_o it_o be_v near_a more_o particular_o and_o special_o as_o there_o be_v no_o great_a sign_n that_o a_o man_n be_v draw_v towards_o death_n then_o that_o he_o be_v always_o catch_v at_o the_o sheet_n and_o blanket_n and_o always_o snatch_v and_o pull_v at_o somewhat_o so_o see_v that_o every_o one_o catch_v what_o he_o can_v in_o this_o griple_a and_o covetous_a age_n and_o see_v that_o there_o be_v so_o insatiable_a a_o mind_n of_o have_v in_o all_o condition_n and_o calling_n of_o people_n now_o it_o be_v a_o sure_a sign_n to_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o wiseman_n that_o this_o world_n be_v sick_a unto_o death_n and_o so_o as_o it_o can_v hold_v out_o long_o and_o if_o there_o be_v no_o great_a sign_n of_o death_n then_o that_o the_o body_n be_v so_o cold_a that_o no_o heat_n will_v come_v unto_o it_o sure_o the_o cold_a charity_n of_o the_o world_n man_n no_o zeal_n to_o religion_n our_o nullity_n of_o faith_n or_o poor_a growth_n in_o faith_n insomuch_o as_o sermon_n be_v seldom_o hear_v or_o with_o small_a amendment_n can_v not_o but_o testify_v that_o the_o world_n itself_o come_v to_o be_v of_o no_o long_a life_n
