year_n by_o the_o help_n of_o charitable_a person_n and_o have_v dear_o buy_v more_o wit_n by_o the_o sad_a experience_n of_o his_o poverty_n may_v buckle_v close_o to_o his_o work_n and_o by_o future_a diligence_n against_o the_o follow_a harvest_n be_v master_n of_o as_o rich_a a_o crop_n as_o any_o in_o the_o field_n but_o if_o thou_o defer_v thy_o repentance_n till_o the_o harvest_n of_o death_n there_o be_v no_o possibility_n for_o thou_o to_o have_v another_o year_n no_o in_o that_o harvest_n thou_o shall_v be_v reap_v thyself_o and_o bind_v up_o with_o the_o tare_n to_o be_v cast_v into_o the_o fire_n nor_o do_v thou_o adventure_v to_o trust_v to_o the_o charity_n of_o other_o but_o remember_v that_o although_o the_o wise_a virgin_n have_v oil_n in_o their_o lamp_n yet_o be_v they_o so_o far_o from_o have_v any_o to_o spare_v that_o they_o have_v hardly_o enough_o for_o themselves_o and_o when_o the_o foolish_a one_o that_o want_v come_v to_o they_o for_o a_o supply_n they_o be_v send_v away_o with_o a_o flat_a denial_n and_o it_o be_v then_o too_o late_o to_o get_v any_o for_o their_o money_n they_o be_v shut_v out_o from_o the_o feast_n of_o the_o bridegroom_n for_o ever_o 8._o oh_o what_o sad_a story_n may_v be_v relate_v to_o thou_o upon_o the_o subject_a of_o delay_a repentance_n how_o many_o example_n be_v there_o of_o person_n that_o after_o long_o sleep_v secure_o in_o sin_n have_v be_v rouse_v of_o a_o sudden_a by_o the_o sharp_a sting_n of_o conscience_n at_o the_o approach_n of_o death_n and_o fright_v from_o the_o vain_a confidence_n they_o whereof_o till_o then_o they_o have_v groundless_o make_v themselves_o too_o sure_o nor_o can_v they_o in_o that_o condition_n be_v persuade_v there_o be_v any_o pardon_n to_o be_v get_v for_o they_o though_o they_o shall_v repent_v never_o so_o much_o they_o can_v not_o believe_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n though_o infinite_a be_v large_a enough_o to_o afford_v they_o any_o share_n in_o that_o weather-beaten_a upon_o the_o unquiet_a billow_n of_o a_o wound_a spirit_n and_o to_o be_v dash_v in_o piece_n against_o the_o rock_n of_o despair_n by_o the_o violent_a gust_n of_o his_o displeasure_n methinks_v i_o hear_v their_o loud_a complaint_n and_o lamentable_a cry_n and_o though_o i_o dare_v not_o so_o much_o as_o imagine_v the_o horrible_a blasphemy_n which_o some_o of_o they_o utter_v in_o that_o woeful_a anguish_n of_o their_o soul_n yet_o i_o can_v but_o learn_v how_o amaze_a their_o condition_n be_v and_o how_o insupportable_a since_o it_o make_v divers_a of_o they_o hang_v drown_v poison_n or_o stab_v themselves_o and_o blind_o to_o fly_v from_o temporal_a into_o eternal_a torment_n oh_o take_v warning_n by_o such_o dismal_a example_n which_o the_o divine_a providence_n sometime_o permit_v as_o humane_a justice_n do_v notorious_a malefactor_n to_o be_v expose_v in_o chain_n for_o the_o great_a terror_n of_o all_o that_o behold_v or_o but_o hear_v the_o narrative_a of_o their_o execution_n 9_o and_o yet_o there_o be_v another_o state_n which_o though_o quite_o contrary_a be_v no_o less_o dangerous_a than_o they_o and_o numberless_a be_v the_o multitude_n of_o those_o that_o be_v in_o it_o which_o make_v i_o the_o more_o earnest_o beg_v of_o thou_o to_o be_v careful_a thou_o be_v not_o one_o of_o they_o these_o flatter_v themselves_o vain_o with_o the_o false_a notion_n of_o god_n infinite_a mercy_n and_o quite_o forget_v the_o strict_a severity_n of_o his_o justice_n they_o think_v it_o enough_o to_o avoid_v gross_a and_o scandalous_a sin_n and_o count_v those_o they_o commit_v so_o inconsiderable_a that_o they_o be_v safe_a though_o they_o neither_o repent_v of_o they_o nor_o regard_v the_o performance_n of_o religious_a duty_n thus_o do_v they_o pass_v their_o day_n in_o a_o lethargy_n of_o security_n till_o their_o dead_a sleep_n be_v change_v into_o the_o sleep_n of_o death_n and_o they_o swallow_v up_o in_o the_o gulf_n of_o presumption_n without_o any_o noise_n few_o reflect_v upon_o their_o end_n and_o few_o be_v warn_v by_o their_o example_n some_o of_o they_o indeed_o seem_v to_o be_v more_o awaken_v to_o rise_v out_o of_o this_o spiritual_a lethargy_n and_o to_o walk_v in_o the_o course_n of_o religious_a duty_n but_o rest_v in_o the_o outward_a performance_n of_o they_o without_o the_o sincerity_n of_o repentance_n or_o fervency_n of_o devotion_n they_o be_v but_o like_a man_n that_o walk_v in_o their_o sleep_n and_o while_o they_o dream_v they_o be_v go_v in_o the_o right_a way_n to_o heaven_n drop_v into_o hell_n with_o more_o presumption_n in_o themselves_o and_o less_o warning_n to_o other_o than_o the_o former_a most_o think_v they_o in_o a_o safe_a condition_n and_o be_v therefore_o encourage_v to_o follow_v they_o in_o the_o same_o road._n but_o oh_o take_v heed_n of_o that_o security_n and_o of_o rest_v upon_o the_o break_a reed_n of_o formal_a religion_n for_o even_o some_o of_o those_o despairer_n that_o strike_v so_o much_o terror_n into_o those_o that_o see_v they_o may_v soon_o escape_v provide_v their_o despondency_n proceed_v from_o

any_o thing_n to_o help_v towards_o his_o own_o resurrection_n but_o i_o will_v not_o revive_v thou_o unless_o thou_o do_v something_o on_o thy_o part_n and_o how_o will_v thou_o be_v able_a o_o wretched_a man_n to_o perform_v that_o under_o a_o double_a death_n thy_o soul_n in_o that_o of_o sin_n and_o thy_o body_n so_o near_o to_o that_o of_o corruption_n thy_o spirit_n be_v conquer_v and_o have_v yield_v itself_o a_o slave_n to_o thy_o appetite_n which_o have_v domineer_v powerful_o all_o thy_o life_n and_o force_v thy_o soul_n to_o the_o drudgery_n of_o sin_n do_v thou_o believe_v body_n indeed_o shall_v rise_v from_o the_o grave_a as_o do_v that_o of_o lazarus_n to_o be_v join_v again_o with_o thy_o soul_n yet_o not_o as_o his_o to_o life_n but_o to_o die_v eternal_o and_o to_o be_v for_o ever_o banish_v from_o my_o sight_n 6._o thou_o have_v use_v thyself_o all_o thy_o life_n to_o follow_v thy_o own_o will_n and_o never_o to_o deny_v thyself_o in_o any_o thing_n and_o do_v thou_o think_v thou_o shall_v have_v power_n to_o do_v that_o in_o the_o end_n of_o it_o which_o have_v always_o be_v so_o contrary_a to_o thy_o inclination_n or_o if_o thou_o have_v endeavour_v to_o get_v victory_n over_o thyself_o and_o have_v fight_v without_o success_n that_o spiritual_a combat_n be_v it_o probable_a thou_o shall_v overcome_v thyself_o better_a in_o thy_o utmost_a weakness_n and_o when_o thou_o lie_v gasp_v for_o breath_n if_o thou_o can_v not_o conquer_v that_o enemy_n when_o thou_o have_v all_o thy_o strength_n if_o with_o the_o force_n of_o reason_n the_o apostle_n themselves_o and_o their_o successor_n with_o so_o many_o other_o excellent_a saint_n fight_v against_o all_o their_o life_n will_v thou_o conquer_v with_o the_o dregs_o of_o thou_o be_v without_o memory_n without_o understanding_n and_o even_o without_o sense_n in_o that_o great_a disorder_n and_o confusion_n which_o death_n use_v to_o bring_v especial_o to_o those_o who_o have_v always_o suffer_v their_o appetite_n to_o triumph_v over_o they_o 7._o how_o long_o o_o sinner_n will_v thou_o go_v on_o in_o this_o foolish_a presumption_n i_o do_v not_o bid_v thou_o save_n of_o a_o man_n at_o his_o death_n who_o have_v all_o his_o life-time_n be_v a_o thief_n and_o a_o wicked_a person_n seem_v to_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o a_o oath_n for_o to_o make_v it_o be_v believe_v i_o say_v unto_o thou_o be_v add_v as_o who_o shall_v say_v do_v not_o believe_v other_o if_o they_o shall_v say_v it_o be_v easy_a for_o those_o to_o be_v save_v who_o delay_n their_o repentance_n till_o their_o death_n no_o that_o be_v no_o easy_a matter_n but_o i_o will_v now_o at_o this_o time_n make_v that_o easy_a for_o thou_o which_o else_o do_v seem_v impossible_a as_o if_o he_o have_v limit_v that_o grace_n then_o unto_o that_o soul_n because_o it_o depart_v from_o his_o body_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o his_o die_a saviour_n i_o say_v unto_o thou_o now_o for_o as_o for_o other_o i_o shall_v see_v hereafter_o how_o i_o shall_v deal_v with_o they_o this_o day_n that_o be_v this_o day_n of_o so_o great_a mercy_n this_o day_n a_o day_n of_o so_o many_o prodigy_n this_o
