to_o dissolve_v these_o body_n and_o congeal_v they_o after_o their_o solution_n with_o that_o thing_n which_o come_v near_o to_o it_o till_o all_o the_o thing_n mix_v together_o by_o a_o apt_a and_o fit_a commixtion_n in_o proportional_a quantity_n be_v firm_o conjoin_v together_o iii_o wherefore_o we_o join_v fire_n and_o water_n earth_n and_o air_n together_o mix_v the_o thick_a with_o the_o thin_a and_o the_o thin_a with_o the_o thick_a so_o as_o they_o may_v abide_v together_o and_o their_o nature_n may_v be_v change_v the_o one_o into_o the_o other_o and_o make_v like_a and_o one_o thing_n in_o the_o compound_n which_o before_o be_v simple_a iv._o because_o that_o part_n which_o generate_v or_o ferment_n bestow_v its_o virtue_n upon_o the_o subtle_a and_o thin_a which_o be_v the_o air_n for_o like_a cleave_v to_o its_o like_a and_o be_v a_o part_n of_o the_o generation_n from_o whence_o it_o receive_v power_n to_o move_v and_o ascend_v upward_o v._o cold_n have_v power_n over_o the_o thick_a matter_n because_o it_o have_v lose_v its_o heat_n and_o the_o water_n be_v go_v out_o of_o it_o and_o the_o dryness_n appear_v upon_o it_o this_o moisture_n depart_v by_o ascend_v up_o and_o the_o 〈◊〉_d part_n of_o the_o air_n have_v mingle_v 〈◊〉_d self_n with_o it_o for_o that_o it_o be_v like_a unto_o it_o and_o of_o the_o same_o nature_n vi_o now_o when_o the_o thick_a body_n have_v lose_v its_o heat_n and_o moisture_n and_o that_o the_o cold_a and_o dryness_n have_v power_n over_o it_o and_o that_o their_o part_n have_v mix_v themselves_o by_o be_v first_o divide_v and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o moisture_n leave_v to_o join_v the_o part_n divide_v the_o part_n withdraw_v themselves_o vii_o and_o then_o the_o part_n which_o be_v contrary_a to_o cold_a by_o reason_n it_o have_v continue_v and_o send_v its_o heat_n and_o decoction_n to_o the_o cold_a part_n of_o the_o earth_n have_v power_n over_o they_o and_o exercise_v such_o dominion_n over_o the_o coldness_n which_o be_v hide_v in_o the_o say_v thick_a body_n that_o by_o virtue_n of_o its_o generative_a power_n change_v the_o thick_a cold_a body_n and_o make_v it_o become_v subtle_a and_o hot_a and_o then_o strive_v to_o dry_v it_o up_o again_o by_o its_o heat_n viii_o but_o afterward_o the_o subtle_a
