expound_v they_o which_o be_v just_a among_o the_o babylonian_a captive_n though_o they_o be_v under_o they_o from_o who_o they_o may_v fear_v death_n through_o hard_a usage_n yea_o to_o be_v put_v to_o death_n by_o reason_n of_o their_o power_n be_v conqueror_n yet_o if_o they_o believe_v the_o message_n and_o good_a news_n of_o their_o deliverance_n by_o cyrus_n out_o of_o their_o captivity_n which_o i_o shall_v send_v they_o by_o my_o prophet_n they_o shall_v be_v deliver_v from_o their_o captivity_n and_o shall_v not_o die_v under_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o babylonian_n but_o live_v and_o live_v a_o joyful_a life_n according_a to_o the_o mystical_a sense_n which_o be_v the_o sense_n in_o which_o our_o apostle_n take_v the_o word_n here_o we_o may_v interpret_v these_o word_n thus_o the_o just_a which_o believe_v the_o gospel_n shall_v be_v justify_v from_o their_o sin_n by_o their_o faith_n the_o just_a according_o to_o the_o frequent_a use_n of_o holy_a scripture_n he_o be_v call_v a_o just_a or_o righteous_a man_n who_o be_v a_o man_n of_o a_o good_a and_o honest_a mind_n and_o desire_v to_o walk_v upright_o though_o he_o slip_v yea_o fall_v often_o such_o a_o man_n as_o this_o be_v be_v ready_a to_o receive_v the_o message_n of_o god_n whensoever_o it_o please_v god_n to_o send_v it_o and_o do_v very_o believe_v it_o when_o it_o be_v send_v again_o if_o we_o look_v into_o the_o place_n of_o habakkuk_n beforementioned_a to_o wit_n habakkuk_n 2.4_o we_o shall_v find_v that_o our_o just_a man_n there_o be_v oppose_v to_o he_o who_o soul_n be_v lift_v up_o that_o be_v to_o a_o proud_a man_n and_o so_o may_v be_v take_v for_o the_o humble_a mind_a man_n such_o a_o one_o as_o trust_v not_o in_o himself_o nor_o boast_v of_o his_o own_o worth_n and_o who_o be_v more_o likely_a to_o be_v a_o believer_n than_o he_o for_o pride_n be_v the_o great_a keeper_n out_o of_o faith_n as_o can_v be_v for_o how_o can_v you_o believe_v which_o seek_v honour_v one_o of_o another_o say_v our_o saviour_n to_o the_o jew_n john_n 5.24_o but_o beside_o this_o the_o just_a may_v be_v take_v for_o he_o which_o it_o justify_v and_o so_o may_v it_o be_v take_v here_o when_o we_o expound_v the_o word_n in_o the_o mystical_a sense_n q._n d._n he_o that_o shall_v be_v justi_fw-la ed_z shall_v be_v justify_v by_o his_o faith_n shall_v live_v this_n be_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v in_o our_o saviour_n word_n he_o shall_v not_o come_v into_o condemnation_n but_o be_v pass_v from_o death_n to_o life_n john_n 5.24_o that_o be_v he_o shall_v be_v justify_v that_o be_v he_o shall_v be_v absolve_v of_o his_o sin_n he_o shall_v not_o be_v condemn_v for_o they_o though_o he_o have_v deserve_v death_n by_o they_o a_o man_n that_o be_v arraign_v and_o try_v for_o his_o life_n upon_o some_o criminal_a or_o capital_a matter_n if_o he_o be_v condemn_v he_o be_v put_v to_o death_n but_o if_o he_o be_v justify_v or_o absolve_v he_o live_v to_o live_v therefore_o may_v be_v put_v here_o per_fw-la metonymiam_fw-la consequentis_fw-la for_o to_o be_v justify_v that_o which_o saint_n paul_n drive_v at_o and_o for_o which_o he_o produce_v the_o testimony_n of_o the_o by_o the_o name_n of_o salvation_n and_o redemption_n which_o be_v word_n borrow_v from_o captive_n which_o be_v save_v or_o redeem_v whereas_o by_o their_o condition_n they_o be_v as_o man_n appoint_v unto_o death_n sometime_o again_o and_o that_o be_v the_o term_n most_o frequent_o use_v in_o this_o epistle_n by_o the_o name_n of_o justification_n which_o be_v a_o name_n or_o word_n borrow_v from_o man_n as_o i_o say_v immediate_o before_o accuse_v of_o some_o capital_a matter_n in_o a_o court_n of_o justice_n where_o the_o person_n accuse_v be_v acquit_v or_o absolve_v of_o the_o crime_n lay_v against_o he_o and_o so_o justify_v by_o the_o judge_n and_o free_v from_o the_o censure_n of_o the_o law_n viz._n death_n the_o word_n of_o the_o prophet_n habakkuk_n as_o they_o be_v here_o allege_v by_o our_o apostle_n may_v in_o their_o mystical_a sense_n be_v interpret_v either_o in_o allusion_n to_o the_o salvation_n or_o redemption_n of_o captive_n or_o in_o allusion_n to_o the_o acquit_v absolve_a or_o justification_n of_o a_o man_n accuse_v in_o a_o court_n of_o justice_n of_o some_o capital_a crime_n and_o after_o which_o of_o these_o way_n the_o reader_n will_v interpret_v they_o i_o leave_v to_o his_o choice_n for_o the_o issue_n of_o both_o be_v life_n by_o faith_n i._n e_o by_o reason_n of_o his_o faith_n or_o if_o he_o believe_v the_o gospel_n for_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v reveal_v from_o heaven_n against_o all_o ungodliness_n and_o unrighteousness_n of_o man_n the_o apostle_n prevent_v a_o objection_n here_o for_o whereas_o he_o say_v that_o the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n be_v reveal_v in_o the_o gospel_n from_o faith_n and_o again_o it_o be_v write_v the_o just_a shall_v live_v by_o faith_n signify_v thereby_o that_o the_o way_n of_o obtain_v justification_n be_v by_o faith_n a_o man_n may_v object_v and_o say_v but_o why_o paul_n do_v thou_o say_v that_o the_o way_n of_o obtain_v justification_n be_v by_o faith_n
of_o the_o first_o chapter_n and_o be_v a_o illation_n from_o thence_o yet_o have_v they_o some_o reflection_n upon_o that_o latter_a part_n of_o the_o first_o chapter_n also_o which_o mention_v and_o set_v forth_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o gentile_n for_o whereas_o the_o apostle_n do_v there_o reckon_v up_o many_o sin_n of_o the_o gentile_n and_o show_v that_o they_o be_v by_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n worthy_a of_o death_n we_o must_v conceive_v that_o the_o jew_n hear_v this_o do_v approve_v the_o sentence_n of_o god_n and_o proud_o condemn_v the_o gentile_n as_o worthy_a of_o death_n for_o these_o their_o sin_n whereupon_o the_o apostle_n take_v a_o occasion_n to_o condemn_v the_o jew_n out_o of_o his_o own_o mouth_n see_v that_o he_o hold_v the_o truth_n in_o unrighteousness_n as_o well_o as_o the_o gentile_a and_o do_v the_o same_o thing_n as_o the_o gentile_n do_v who_o he_o condemn_v thou_o be_v inexcusable_a i._n e._n thou_o can_v not_o be_v excuse_v nor_o defend_v from_o whosoever_o thou_o be_v that_o judge_v i._o e._n whosoever_o thou_o be_v which_o judge_v the_o gentile_a to_o be_v worthy_a of_o death_n because_o of_o the_o sin_n which_o he_o have_v commit_v the_o apostle_n suppose_v here_o that_o the_o jew_n have_v judge_v the_o gentile_n to_o be_v worthy_a of_o death_n by_o reason_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o this_o supposition_n be_v not_o avain_a supposition_n for_o the_o jew_n be_v a_o censorious_a people_n ready_a upon_o all_o occasion_n to_o condemn_v the_o gentile_n and_o to_o justify_v themselves_o wherein_o thou_o judge_v another_o etc._n etc._n i._n e._n with_o the_o same_o judgement_n or_o with_o the_o same_o sentence_n with_o which_o thou_o condemne_v the_o gentile_a and_o judge_v he_o worthy_a of_o death_n thou_o condemne_v thyself_o and_o judge_v thyself_o wherein_o i._o e._n wherewith_o or_o by_o which_o supple_a judgement_n note_v that_o the_o preposition_n in_o according_a to_o the_o hebrew_n manner_n may_v be_v take_v for_o with_o or_o by_o thou_o judge_v the_o apostle_n speak_v not_o here_o of_o public_a judgement_n whereby_o a_o public_a judge_n do_v by_o his_o authority_n condemn_v a_o malefactor_n that_o general_o to_o be_v understand_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v for_o thou_o which_o judge_v another_o worthy_a of_o death_n for_o such_o and_o such_o sin_n thou_o thyself_o do_v the_o same_o though_o not_o in_o specie_fw-la yet_o in_o genere_fw-la and_o commit_v sin_n of_o as_o heinous_a a_o nature_n as_o those_o be_v of_o which_o he_o commit_v he_o that_o condemn_v a_o man_n for_o adultery_n though_o he_o himself_o have_v not_o commit_v adultery_n yet_o if_o he_o have_v commit_v murder_n or_o a_o sin_n which_o deserve_v as_o great_a a_o punishment_n as_o adultery_n do_v he_o condemn_v himself_o and_o judge_v himself_o to_o be_v as_o worthy_a of_o punishment_n as_o he_o which_o commit_v adultery_n ver._n 2._o but_o we_o be_v sure_a that_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n be_v according_a to_o truth_n against_o they_o which_o commit_v such_o thing_n between_o this_o and_o the_o forego_n verse_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o the_o jew_n hear_v the_o apostle_n say_v that_o he_o to_o wit_n the_o jew_n condemn_v himself_o in_o that_o wherein_o he_o judge_v the_o gentile_a because_o he_o do_v the_o same_o thing_n grow_v hot_a and_o angry_a with_o the_o apostle_n for_o that_o the_o apostle_n make_v no_o difference_n between_o a_o gentile_a and_o he_o which_o be_v a_o jew_n and_o break_v out_o into_o these_o or_o the_o like_a word_n but_o what_o if_o i_o condemn_v the_o gentile_a for_o do_v those_o unseemly_a thing_n which_o you_o reckon_v up_o must_v i_o therefore_o condemn_v myself_o be_v there_o no_o difference_n between_o a_o gentile_a and_o i_o a_o reconcile_v to_o god_n we_o be_v any_o long_a sinner_n answ_n if_o we_o say_v that_o we_o have_v no_o sin_n we_o deceive_v ourselves_o and_o there_o be_v no_o truth_n in_o we_o 1_o john_n 1.8_o yet_o
