pardon_v of_o sin_n and_o deliverance_n from_o hell_n but_o a_o glorious_a kingdom_n that_o shall_v never_o fade_v be_v purchase_v for_o all_o true_a believer_n so_o that_o here_o 1._o thou_o see_v mere_a madness_n because_o there_o be_v hope_n of_o pardon_n discover_v by_o the_o gospel_n as_o procure_v by_o christ_n therefore_o even_o therefore_o do_v wretched_a sinner_n harden_v their_o heart_n and_o embolden_v themselves_o to_o continue_v at_o a_o distance_n from_o god_n as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o nothing_o to_o get_v their_o peace_n make_v with_o he_o or_o as_o if_o he_o and_o think_v because_o he_o be_v so_o compassionate_a they_o may_v the_o safe_o persist_v in_o their_o rebellion_n it_o be_v but_o just_a they_o shall_v be_v destroy_v if_o thou_o love_v thy_o soul_n then_o beware_v how_o thou_o abuse_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n will_v thou_o put_v away_o from_o thou_o the_o evil_n of_o thy_o do_n wash_v thou_o and_o make_v the_o clean_a and_o so_o with_o humility_n and_o submission_n fly_v to_o god_n for_o mercy_n if_o so_o this_o mercy_n through_o christ_n shall_v be_v assure_o thou_o but_o otherwise_o know_v there_o be_v not_o a_o word_n of_o not_o have_v thou_o utter_o perish_v though_o thou_o have_v do_v so_o much_o to_o destroy_v thyself_o he_o call_v thou_o back_o to_o he_o if_o thou_o will_v hearken_v and_o obey_v and_o humble_a thy_o self_n before_o he_o for_o thy_o departure_n from_o he_o and_o for_o all_o the_o dishonour_v do_v to_o his_o holy_a name_n and_o will_v now_o at_o length_n devote_v thyself_o to_o his_o fear_n thou_o curse_a drunkenness_n whoredom_n covetousness_n cozen_v malice_n or_o any_o other_o know_v sin_n and_o wilful_o neglecte_v thy_o duty_n to_o god_n go_v whole_a day_n without_o prayer_n or_o read_v god_n word_n profane_v the_o lord_n day_n neglect_v sacrament_n if_o thou_o hold_v on_o this_o course_n thou_o do_v no_o better_a than_o again_o crucify_v and_o deny_v the_o lord_n that_o buy_v thou_o and_o so_o have_v no_o reason_n to_o complain_v if_o thou_o fall_v under_o the_o same_o condemnation_n which_o thou_o thyself_o will_v acknowledge_v judas_n and_o pilate_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o christ_n enemy_n deserve_v and_o therefore_o that_o thou_o may_v not_o be_v find_v among_o they_o load_v with_o the_o same_o guilt_n at_o judgement_n i_o do_v once_o again_o in_o the_o name_n of_o to_o their_o native_a country_n and_o their_o willingness_n to_o live_v in_o obedience_n to_o their_o king_n who_o they_o have_v displease_v and_o do_v hereby_o also_o engage_v to_o accept_v of_o this_o officer_n that_o accompany_v the_o prince_n to_o teach_v they_o the_o language_n and_o manner_n of_o the_o country_n they_o be_v about_o to_o return_v to_o the_o application_n of_o this_o to_o any_o other_o condition_n than_o forsake_v they_o if_o bare_a confession_n and_o beg_n of_o mercy_n may_v serve_v turn_n or_o if_o come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n may_v serve_v turn_n and_o yet_o hide_v but_o rather_o use_v all_o mean_n to_o supply_v they_o whilst_o they_o be_v afford_v and_o as_o there_o be_v require_v in_o all_o receiver_n a_o earnest_a longing_n after_o sanctify_a grace_n which_o be_v here_o vouchsafe_v so_o the_o other_o qualification_n suitable_a hereto_o i_o tell_v you_o be_v a_o resolution_n to_o improve_v this_o grace_n that_o be_v to_o lay_v it_o out_o and_o show_v forth_o the_o fruit_n of_o it_o in_o a_o holy_a conversation_n this_o be_v a_o effect_n of_o the_o former_a and_o indeed_o necessary_o flow_v from_o the_o nature_n of_o grace_n which_o be_v no_o way_n desirable_a but_o for_o use_n and_o exercise_v not_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o in_o shall_v ordinary_o lie_v still_o in_o the_o heart_n and_o not_o be_v bring_v forth_o into_o act_n and_o show_v in_o the_o life_n he_o that_o desire_v patience_n humility_n purity_n temperance_n to_o what_o purpose_n be_v it_o but_o to_o overcome_v the_o temptation_n which_o he_o meet_v with_o in_o the_o world_n to_o the_o contrary_a vice_n and_o to_o show_v forth_o these_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o all_o his_o converse_n whence_o it_o appear_v that_o no_o man_n be_v worthy_a to_o come_v to_o the_o lord_n table_n who_o be_v not_o resolve_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n to_o live_v a_o holy_a life_n and_o to_o be_v lead_v by_o the_o spirit_n in_o all_o his_o way_n he_o that_o have_v get_v who_o be_v yet_o stranger_n hereto_o to_o such_o a_o apprehension_n of_o the_o glory_n to_o come_v by_o christ_n that_o they_o may_v choose_v it_o as_o their_o portion_n and_o so_o be_v joyful_o as_o these_o affect_v your_o heart_n with_o a_o sense_n of_o your_o iniquity_n humble_o betake_v yourselves_o to_o god_n and_o lay_v open_a all_o before_o he_o by_o a_o free_a and_o full_a to_o death_n of_o which_o pardon_n there_o be_v good_a hope_n if_o he_o do_v but_o perceive_v you_o to_o be_v real_o sorry_a for_o your_o fault_n oh_o how_o affectionate_a and_o earnest_a will_v you_o be_v in_o this_o case_n and_o will_v have_v word_n at_o will_n to_o express_v yourself_o how_o passionate_o will_v you_o acknowledge_v and_o bewail_v the_o offence_n you_o have_v commit_v and_o with_o what_o vehemence_n profess_v against_o ever_o be_v guilty_a of_o the_o like_a and_o how_o importunate_o will_v you_o beg_v for_o mercy_n when_o you_o see_v no_o other_o way_n but_o present_a death_n if_o your_o importunity_n do_v not_o prevail_v thus_o behave_v yourselves_o towards_o god_n and_o believe_v that_o he_o stand_v over_o you_o now_o in_o your_o closet_n and_o hearken_v to_o your_o prayer_n and_o observe_v whether_o you_o be_v hearty_a in_o they_o or_o not_o but_o remember_v all_o this_o while_n it_o be_v a_o inward-dislike_n and_o abhorrence_n of_o sin_n wherein_o the_o truth_n of_o your_o repentance_n consist_v more_o than_o in_o bare_a confess_v it_o and_o speak_v against_o it_o with_o the_o great_a fervour_n these_o be_v require_v too_o but_o beware_v of_o take_v up_o with_o these_o beware_v i_o say_v as_o ever_o you_o hope_v for_o mercy_n of_o retain_v any_o secret_a like_n to_o sin_n or_o the_o least_o thought_n of_o continue_v in_o it_o still_o whilst_o with_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o stir_v you_o revile_v it_o as_o such_o a_o abominable_a thing_n but_o rather_o if_o you_o find_v in_o your_o soul_n a_o kind_n of_o hanker_a after_o some_o old_a lust_n not_o yet_o thorough_o mortify_v betake_v yourselves_o to_o those_o consideration_n which_o may_v bring_v you_o out_o of_o love_n with_o it_o as_o how_o little_a its_o like_a to_o do_v for_o you_o what_o a_o happiness_n it_o do_v now_o and_o will_v hereafter_o deprive_v you_o of_o what_o a_o misery_n it_o lead_v to_o with_o other_o the_o like_a former_o lay_v down_o and_o quit_v not_o these_o thought_n till_o you_o find_v yourselves_o turn_v against_o it_o for_o once_o again_o let_v i_o assure_v you_o then_o and_o never_o till_o then_o be_v your_o repentance_n right_a when_o you_o be_v not_o only_o bring_v to_o grieve_v for_o sin_n but_o to_o hate_v it_o when_o your_o heart_n be_v not_o only_o break_v in_o the_o remembrance_n of_o it_o but_o be_v break_v off_o from_o and_o thorough_o bend_v against_o it_o though_o this_o exercise_n of_o repentance_n seem_v most_o proper_o preparative_n to_o the_o work_n you_o be_v go_v about_o yet_o in_o such_o a_o penitent_a humble_a frame_n will_v i_o have_v you_o be_v even_o when_o you_o be_v at_o the_o lord_n table_n if_o you_o eat_v this_o bread_n and_o mingle_v the_o wine_n with_o tear_n it_o will_v be_v never_o the_o worse_o for_o your_o soul_n and_o must_v it_o not_o needs_o affect_v thou_o to_o behold_v christ_n body_n break_v and_o his_o blood_n pour_v out_o here_o in_o a_o figure_n and_o then_o to_o think_v with_o thyself_o this_o be_v sin_n my_o sin_n even_o my_o pride_n and_o earthliness_n and_o all_o the_o wickedness_n of_o my_o heart_n and_o life_n be_v part_n of_o that_o load_n which_o he_o bear_v on_o his_o own_o body_n on_o the_o cross_n when_o he_o cry_v out_o my_o god_n my_o god_n why_o have_v thou_o forsake_v i_o may_v not_o the_o lord_n call_v to_o i_o and_o even_o show_v i_o the_o print_n of_o my_o many_o grievous_a sin_n in_o his_o hand_n and_o foot_n and_o the_o deep_a stab_n they_o give_v he_o and_o yet_o ungrateful_a wretch_n that_o i_o be_o how_o little_a have_v i_o value_v this_o his_o love_n how_o little_a have_v my_o heart_n be_v affect_v herewith_o where_o have_v i_o be_v and_o what_o have_v become_v of_o i_o if_o he_o have_v not_o thus_o undertake_v for_o i_o oh_o what_o have_v my_o sin_n bring_v upon_o i_o if_o he_o have_v not_o interpose_v and_o keep_v it_o off_o how_o mad_a and_o senseless_a have_v i_o be_v in_o venture_v upon_o sin_n harbour_v and_o delight_v in_o sin_n sin_n which_o be_v so_o heinous_a a_o thing_n that_o without_o shed_v of_o blood_n it_o will_v never_o be_v remit_v and_o for_o which_o no_o blood_n but_o that_o of_o christ_n can_v obtain_v a_o remission_n how_o more_o especial_o heinous_a than_o be_v my_o guilt_n in_o undervalue_v this_o blood_n so_o much_o and_o so_o long_o as_o i_o have_v do_v how_o base_a be_v my_o heart_n to_o give_v entertainment_n to_o sin_n after_o i_o have_v hear_v what_o it_o have_v do_v against_o christ_n and_o to_o deny_v entertainment_n to_o he_o after_o i_o have_v hear_v how_o much_o he_o have_v do_v for_o i_o be_v his_o kindness_n such_o as_o to_o bleed_v for_o my_o sin_n and_o shall_v not_o i_o weep_v for_o they_o especial_o for_o the_o unkindness_n i_o have_v show_v to_o he_o as_o god_n never_o show_v great_a love_n to_o man_n than_o in_o deliver_v up_o his_o son_n for_o our_o offence_n so_o he_o never_o show_v great_a hatred_n of_o sin_n than_o by_o this_o action_n and_o therefore_o conformable_o as_o we_o ought_v hereby_o to_o be_v bring_v to_o the_o great_a love_n of_o god_n so_o to_o the_o deep_a hatred_n of_o sin_n and_o humiliation_n for_o it_o but_o i_o have_v former_o more_o full_o show_v how_o the_o consideration_n of_o christ_n death_n may_v bring_v we_o to_o true_a repentance_n and_o what_o i_o there_o speak_v chief_o of_o a_o change_n of_o state_n may_v be_v apply_v to_o the_o particular_a exercise_n of_o repentance_n wherefore_o i_o shall_v insist_v no_o more_o on_o this_o only_o let_v i_o meet_v with_o a_o objection_n that_o may_v perhaps_o be_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o some_o namely_o that_o sorrow_n for_o sin_n at_o this_o time_n scarce_o seem_v consistent_a with_o that_o hope_v of_o mercy_n that_o joy_n and_o thankfulness_n which_o be_v chief_o require_v in_o the_o communicant_a know_v therefore_o that_o i_o press_v no_o sorrow_n but_o what_o be_v a_o preparation_n to_o joy_n and_o do_v even_o animate_v and_o exalt_v it_o whilst_o the_o humble_a christian_a reflect_v upon_o his_o own_o nothingnesse_n and_o unworthiness_n and_o thence_o be_v carry_v forth_o to_o the_o great_a admiration_n of_o that_o mercy_n that_o have_v so_o favourable_o regard_v he_o and_o take_v notice_n far_o that_o i_o will_v have_v the_o sense_n of_o divine_a bounty_n chief_o to_o raise_v and_o keep_v up_o this_o humiliation_n whilst_o we_o think_v with_o ourselves_o oh_o what_o wretched_a creature_n be_v we_o thus_o to_o offend_v so_o love_v a_o father_n who_o notwithstanding_o all_o our_o provocation_n be_v yet_o compassionate_a towards_o we_o and_o upon_o our_o return_n to_o he_o be_v so_o ready_o reconcile_v to_o retain_v this_o apprehension_n of_o love_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o our_o mourning_n will_v make_v they_o most_o ingenuous_a and_o even_o pleasant_a to_o our_o soul_n and_o though_o it_o will_v make_v we_o sincere_a and_o deep_a in_o our_o repentance_n yet_o it_o will_v so_o moderate_v our_o spirit_n that_o we_o shall_v
