first_o of_o faith_n which_o be_v so_o high_o commend_v by_o the_o apostle_n i_o say_v it_o signify_v nothing_o else_o but_o this_o in_o general_a viz._n a_o high_a sense_n of_o and_o confidence_n in_o the_o power_n justice_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n and_o a_o firm_a belief_n that_o he_o will_v assure_o bring_v to_o pass_v whatsoever_o he_o have_v promise_v seem_v it_o never_o so_o unlikely_a and_o difficult_a to_o flesh_n and_o blood_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o be_v so_o commend_v in_o abraham_n as_o it_o be_v plain_a in_o the_o four_o to_o the_o roman_n 4.18_o who_o against_o hope_n believe_v in_o hope_n that_o he_o may_v become_v the_o father_n of_o many_o nation_n and_o be_v not_o weak_a in_o faith_n he_o consider_v not_o his_o own_o body_n now_o dead_a when_o he_o be_v about_o a_o hundred_o year_n old_a nor_o yet_o the_o deadness_n of_o sara_n womb_n be_v full_o persuade_v that_o what_o god_n have_v promise_v he_o be_v able_a to_o perform_v and_o therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n it_o be_v impute_v to_o he_o for_o righteousness_n that_o be_v to_o say_v god_n approve_v of_o he_o for_o a_o good_a and_o pious_a man_n who_o not_o consult_v with_o the_o natural_a improbability_n of_o the_o thing_n but_o give_v firm_a credence_n to_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n do_v that_o which_o be_v due_a to_o the_o goodness_n and_o power_n of_o god_n and_o nature_n and_o w_v herself_o by_o lively_a sense_n of_o divine_a power_n and_o goodness_n to_o the_o assent_v to_o and_o rest_v in_o such_o thing_n as_o the_o present_a state_n of_o nature_n can_v never_o bring_v about_o certain_o be_v and_o be_v esteem_v and_o approve_v of_o god_n as_o a_o very_a righteous_a and_o good_a act_n and_o to_o proceed_v from_o a_o good_a and_o holy_a temper_n
