instruct_v in_o these_o point_n as_o if_o they_o be_v not_o at_o all_o concern_v in_o they_o or_o else_o they_o be_v such_o that_o abstain_v from_o it_o out_o of_o doubt_v and_o fear_n not_o think_v themselves_o worthy_a or_o not_o know_v whether_o they_o be_v worthy_a or_o not_o of_o this_o sort_n there_o be_v many_o excellent_a christian_n who_o too_o much_o indulge_v to_o their_o own_o melancholy_a and_o despondent_a apprehension_n and_o also_o many_o weak_a but_o i_o hope_v honest_a well-meaning_a people_n who_o seem_v to_o have_v a_o great_a esteem_n for_o this_o sacrament_n but_o have_v always_o hear_v what_o a_o dangerous_a thing_n it_o be_v to_o receive_v it_o unworthy_o dare_v not_o venture_v upon_o it_o not_o be_v well_o acquaint_v wâ—th_v the_o nature_n and_o reason_n of_o it_o and_o be_v doubtful_a whether_o they_o be_v fit_a to_o come_v or_o not_o be_v also_o i_o fear_v too_o languid_a and_o heartless_a in_o desire_v after_o it_o or_o in_o make_v preparation_n for_o it_o and_o for_o such_o as_o these_o principal_o do_v i_o intend_v my_o direction_n by_o those_o that_o be_v guilty_a of_o miscarriage_n in_o the_o do_n of_o this_o duty_n i_o mean_v such_o as_o to_o get_v your_o faith_n well_o strengthen_v and_o confirm_v even_o by_o yield_a obedience_n to_o the_o truth_n and_o try_v by_o your_o own_o experience_n what_o benefit_n come_v by_o conform_v to_o perish_v for_o ever_o and_o have_v thou_o be_v convince_v that_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o this_o misery_n and_o danger_n which_o thou_o be_v liable_a to_o and_o have_v thou_o hereupon_o hearty_o grieve_v for_o and_o bewail_v thy_o wretched_a miserable_a state_n have_v thou_o be_v humble_v for_o the_o sin_n thou_o bring_v into_o the_o world_n with_o thou_o and_o for_o all_o the_o sin_n which_o thou_o know_v by_o thyself_o and_o can_v remember_v thou_o have_v at_o any_o time_n commit_v have_v thou_o be_v careful_a to_o search_v into_o thy_o heart_n and_o to_o look_v back_o upon_o thy_o life_n past_a that_o thou_o may_v find_v out_o what_o thy_o particular_a sin_n be_v that_o thou_o may_v confess_v they_o before_o god_n and_o forsake_v they_o and_o have_v thou_o indeed_o be_v so_o sensible_a of_o the_o evil_a of_o sin_n chief_o as_o it_o be_v rebellion_n against_o that_o god_n who_o make_v thou_o and_o have_v send_v his_o son_n to_o redeem_v and_o spirit_n to_o sanctify_v thou_o and_o have_v daily_o give_v thou_o so_o many_o mercy_n to_o engage_v thou_o to_o please_v he_o have_v thou_o i_o say_v see_v so_o much_o vileness_n and_o baseness_n in_o thy_o dishonour_n and_o provoke_v so_o good_a a_o god_n that_o this_o consideration_n have_v melt_v and_o break_v thy_o heart_n and_o wrought_v thou_o into_o a_o bitter_a hatred_n and_o loathe_n of_o every_o know_a sin_n so_o that_o thou_o have_v earnest_o desire_v to_o be_v deliver_v from_o it_o which_o be_v so_o odious_a in_o its_o self_n and_o so_o mischievous_a to_o thou_o and_o have_v thou_o be_v therefore_o deliberate_o resolve_v by_o the_o help_n of_o god_n without_o any_o more_o delay_n to_o put_v away_o far_o from_o thou_o whatever_o be_v displease_v to_o god_n and_o to_o return_v to_o he_o from_o who_o thou_o have_v fall_v and_o to_o a_o obedience_n to_o those_o law_n which_o thou_o have_v violate_v and_o contemn_v examine_v thyself_o faithful_o whether_o thou_o have_v ever_o experience_v such_o a_o change_n of_o thy_o mind_n as_o this_o i_o have_v describe_v which_o may_v well_o be_v call_v repentance_n unto_o life_n or_o rather_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n do_v thou_o not_o
thou_o dare_v not_o affirm_v either_o of_o these_o beware_v how_o thou_o mincest_n and_o lessene_v thy_o sin_n when_o thou_o shall_v repent_v of_o and_o bewail_v they_o for_o by_o so_o do_v thou_o do_v in_o effect_n thus_o blaspheme_v god_n oh_o then_o let_v sin_n be_v call_v to_o the_o bar_n indict_v it_o for_o a_o murderer_n as_o well_o thou_o may_v accuse_v it_o as_o guilty_a of_o the_o bloody_a death_n of_o the_o lord_n of_o life_n show_v all_o the_o wound_n and_o stab_n that_o it_o give_v he_o and_o see_v that_o thou_o pronounce_v sentence_n against_o it_o even_o utter_a death_n from_o he_o open_v thy_o eye_n to_o shed_v stream_n of_o tear_n or_o however_o work_v thy_o heart_n to_o a_o unfeigned_a sorrow_n for_o all_o thy_o iniquity_n for_o which_o thy_o saviour_n be_v thus_o wound_v 2._o the_o next_o thing_n i_o will_v have_v have_v thou_o to_o enlarge_v thy_o meditation_n upon_o in_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n in_o order_n to_o the_o bring_n of_o thou_o to_o a_o kindly_a repentance_n be_v that_o unspeakable_a love_n which_o be_v hereby_o manifest_v to_o the_o lose_a son_n of_o man_n when_o i_o speak_v of_o repentance_n i_o mean_v not_o mere_o thy_o shed_n of_o god_n that_o thou_o may_v be_v draw_v to_o he_o both_o these_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n most_o admirable_o hold_v forth_o so_o that_o well_o may_v the_o apostle_n call_v christ_n crucify_v the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n and_o the_o poweâ—_n of_o god_n 1_o cor._n 1.23_o 24._o how_o it_o show_v the_o evil_a of_o sin_n to_o bring_v we_o to_o loath_a and_o leave_v it_o i_o have_v already_o show_v and_o shall_v do_v more_o in_o two_o follow_a particular_n that_o which_o i_o will_v now_o set_v thy_o thought_n upon_o be_v the_o inconceivable_a love_n of_o god_n in_o give_v christ_n for_o we_o and_o of_o christ_n in_o be_v willing_a to_o lay_v down_o his_o life_n that_o as_o many_o as_o believe_v in_o he_o may_v not_o perish_v but_o have_v everlasting_a life_n consider_v serious_o how_o the_o great_a god_n have_v send_v after_o thou_o a_o poor_a worm_n the_o god_n who_o thou_o have_v sin_v against_o make_v thou_o offer_n of_o peace_n the_o god_n who_o need_v thou_o not_o yet_o appear_v desirous_a of_o thy_o happiness_n when_o he_o may_v have_v pour_v out_o everlasting_a wrath_n upon_o thou_o he_o be_v willing_a to_o show_v his_o compassion_n and_o see_v what_o he_o have_v do_v in_o order_n to_o thy_o recovery_n he_o have_v send_v his_o own_o son_n make_v of_o a_o woman_n make_v under_o the_o law_n and_o deliver_v he_o to_o death_n for_o our_o offence_n and_o accept_v of_o the_o satisfaction_n he_o have_v make_v on_o the_o behalf_n of_o all_o that_o shall_v by_o he_o come_v to_o that_o god_n from_o who_o they_o be_v fall_v and_o by_o his_o death_n not_o only_o pardon_v of_o sin_n and_o deliverance_n from_o hell_n but_o a_o glorious_a kingdom_n that_o shall_v never_o fade_v be_v purchase_v for_o all_o true_a believer_n so_o that_o here_o 1._o thou_o see_v plain_o there_o be_v hope_n of_o pardon_n and_o acceptance_n upon_o thy_o hearty_a sorrow_n for_o and_o resolution_n against_o sin_n and_o who_o will_v not_o this_o encourage_v to_o come_v in_o free_o acknowledge_v and_o protest_v against_o their_o former_a backslide_n and_o rebellion_n if_o indeed_o thou_o be_v past_a hope_n it_o be_v as_o good_a keep_v thy_o sin_n while_o thou_o may_v and_o make_v thy_o best_a of_o they_o but_o this_o be_v not_o yet_o thy_o case_n and_o if_o it_o hereafter_o shall_v be_v thou_o may_v thank_v thy_o own_o wilfulness_n for_o jesus_n christ_n have_v bring_v in_o a_o better_a hope_n there_o be_v by_o he_o liberty_n proclaim_v to_o the_o captive_a freedom_n to_o all_o that_o be_v bind_v ease_n and_o rest_n to_o all_o that_o be_v burden_v a_o pardon_n to_o all_o that_o be_v penitent_a and_o what_o will_v not_o this_o make_v thou_o stir_v be_v a_o golden_a sceptre_n hold_v forth_o and_o will_v thou_o not_o lay_v hold_n of_o the_o opportunity_n be_v god_n willing_a to_o put_v up_o all_o the_o affront_v he_o have_v receive_v from_o thou_o if_o thou_o will_v now_o come_v and_o submit_v thyself_o and_o will_v not_o this_o bring_v thou_o in_o be_v he_o ready_a to_o be_v reconcile_v and_o be_v thou_o backward_o what_o do_v thou_o rather_o hold_v off_o because_o he_o do_v so_o invite_v and_o importune_v thou_o to_o he_o because_o he_o be_v please_v with_o so_o much_o earnestness_n and_o compassion_n to_o call_v thou_o off_o from_o sin_n to_o himself_o do_v thou_o the_o more_o secure_o run_v on_o in_o wickedness_n oh_o base_a ingratitude_n and_o mere_a madness_n because_o there_o be_v hope_n of_o pardon_n discover_v by_o the_o gospel_n as_o procure_v by_o christ_n therefore_o even_o therefore_o do_v wretched_a sinner_n harden_v their_o heart_n and_o embolden_v themselves_o to_o continue_v at_o a_o distance_n from_o god_n as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o nothing_o to_o get_v their_o peace_n make_v with_o he_o or_o as_o if_o he_o must_v of_o necessity_n pardon_n and_o save_v they_o let_v they_o live_v as_o they_o list_v thus_o vile_o do_v they_o pervert_v the_o very_a design_n of_o the_o gospel_n whereas_o be_v they_o ingenuous_a and_o reasonable_a they_o will_v acknowledge_v it_o to_o be_v a_o most_o forcible_a motive_n and_o engagement_n to_o cast_v away_o sin_n to_o hear_v that_o there_o be_v hope_n of_o have_v forgiveness_n and_o favour_n from_o god_n if_o a_o company_n of_o subject_n shall_v rebel_v against_o their_o prince_n what_o course_n will_v be_v more_o effectual_a in_o all_o probability_n to_o reclaim_v they_o than_o to_o assure_v pardon_n to_o all_o that_o will_v throw_v down_o their_o arm_n but_o if_o they_o shall_v be_v so_o base_a as_o to_o abuse_v the_o mercy_n of_o their_o prince_n and_o think_v because_o he_o be_v so_o compassionate_a they_o may_v the_o safe_o persist_v in_o their_o rebellion_n it_o be_v but_o just_a they_o shall_v be_v destroy_v if_o thou_o love_v thy_o soul_n then_o beware_v how_o thou_o abuse_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n will_v thou_o put_v away_o from_o thou_o the_o evil_n of_o thy_o do_n wash_v thou_o and_o make_v the_o clean_a and_o so_o with_o humility_n and_o submission_n fly_v to_o god_n for_o mercy_n if_o so_o this_o mercy_n through_o christ_n shall_v be_v assure_o thou_o but_o otherwise_o know_v there_o be_v not_o a_o word_n of_o comfort_n for_o thou_o in_o the_o whole_a gospel_n nothing_o but_o what_o may_v strike_v thou_o with_o terror_n for_o remember_v well_o that_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n give_v all_o the_o encouragement_n in_o the_o world_n to_o repentance_n but_o not_o the_o least_o to_o sin_n yea_o it_o have_v do_v more_o to_o destroy_v sin_n than_o all_o the_o terror_n and_o threaten_n of_o the_o law_n well_o then_o though_o thou_o be_v a_o lose_a sinner_n depart_v from_o god_n once_o without_o hope_n yet_o behold_v the_o god_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n take_v pity_n on_o thou_o he_o will_v not_o have_v thou_o utter_o perish_v though_o thou_o have_v do_v so_o much_o to_o destroy_v thyself_o he_o call_v thou_o back_o to_o he_o if_o thou_o will_v hearken_v and_o obey_v and_o humble_a thy_o self_n before_o he_o for_o thy_o departure_n from_o he_o and_o for_o all_o the_o dishonour_v do_v to_o his_o holy_a name_n and_o will_v now_o at_o length_n devote_v thyself_o to_o his_o fear_n thou_o need_v not_o doubt_v of_o his_o favour_n so_o then_o here_o be_v hope_n of_o mercy_n that_o may_v encourage_v all_o that_o hear_v it_o to_o repentance_n 2._o and_o in_o the_o next_o place_n there_o be_v so_o much_o love_n and_o goodness_n manifest_v in_o that_o way_n whereby_o this_o mercy_n be_v procure_v and_o tender_v that_o may_v serve_v to_o work_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o all_o but_o flat_a
christ_n as_o may_v prevail_v with_o all_o that_o love_n themselves_o to_o make_v out_o after_o it_o and_o depart_v from_o sin_n which_o alone_o can_v keep_v they_o from_o it_o and_o that_o be_v the_o second_o consideration_n which_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n help_v we_o to_o in_o order_n to_o the_o work_n of_o a_o kindly_a repentance_n namely_o the_o great_a goodness_n of_o god_n hereby_o reveal_v to_o poor_a sinner_n 3._o from_o all_o that_o have_v be_v say_v will_v more_o clear_o appear_v the_o heinous_a nature_n of_o sin_n as_o a_o far_a motive_n to_o repentance_n in_o that_o it_o be_v a_o contradiction_n to_o all_o this_o love_n of_o god_n and_o a_o undervalue_v of_o the_o great_a mercy_n that_o be_v ever_o bestow_v upon_o the_o world_n be_v in_o effect_n a_o trample_n under_o foot_n of_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n whereby_o we_o shall_v be_v sanctify_v and_o hereby_o i_o mean_v those_o sin_n which_o have_v be_v commit_v since_o man_n hear_v of_o the_o gospel_n for_o as_o the_o evil_a of_o sin_n do_v appear_v in_o the_o greatness_n of_o those_o suffering_n which_o christ_n undergo_v to_o procure_v a_o pardon_n so_o these_o his_o suffering_n do_v exceed_o aggravate_v their_o sin_n who_o have_v continue_v in_o they_o after_o they_o have_v be_v tell_v again_o and_o again_o what_o their_o saviour_n have_v do_v to_o make_v satisfaction_n for_o they_o if_o they_o will_v not_o undervalue_v and_o despise_v it_o oh_o how_o have_v you_o make_v a_o shift_n so_o often_o to_o hear_v and_o read_v of_o the_o life_n and_o death_n of_o christ_n and_o yet_o have_v do_v all_o that_o in_o you_o lie_v to_o cross_v the_o end_n of_o his_o come_n into_o the_o world_n and_o to_o make_v his_o death_n of_o none_o effect_v to_o you_o whilst_o yet_o you_o pretend_v to_o believe_v that_o his_o design_n be_v whole_o for_o your_o good_a oh_o unthankful_a wretch_n to_o make_v such_o a_o requital_n for_o such_o unvaluable_a love_n as_o if_o you_o study_v how_o you_o may_v most_o dishonour_n and_o displease_v he_o who_o think_v not_o his_o own_o life_n too_o dear_a to_o lay_v down_o for_o you_o can_v you_o see_v he_o upon_o the_o cross_n wound_v tear_v and_o bruise_v for_o your_o sake_n and_o can_v you_o think_v of_o no_o other_o recompense_n but_o to_o give_v he_o fresh_a wound_n by_o your_o wilful_a sin_n do_v he_o once_o despise_v the_o shame_n and_o endure_v the_o cross_n for_o you_o and_o can_v you_o find_v in_o your_o heart_n again_o to_o put_v he_o to_o a_o open_a shame_n and_o as_o it_o be_v crucify_v he_o afresh_o do_v he_o indeed_o deserve_v such_o deal_n as_o this_o at_o your_o hand_n bethink_v thyself_o reader_n whether_o this_o have_v not_o be_v thy_o case_n have_v thou_o not_o live_v in_o those_o sin_n which_o christ_n die_v to_o deliver_v thou_o from_o and_o what_o have_v thou_o thereby_o do_v less_o than_o proclaim_v that_o there_o be_v more_o to_o be_v get_v by_o thy_o lust_n than_o by_o thy_o saviour_n that_o its_o better_a to_o remain_v in_o thy_o pollute_a corrupt_a estate_n than_o to_o be_v wash_v in_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n whereby_o our_o conscience_n be_v purge_v from_o dead_a work_n to_o serve_v the_o live_a god_n and_o do_v they_o vilify_v christ_n more_o that_o contemn_v he_o jeer_v he_o and_o put_v he_o to_o death_n if_o thou_o take_v thy_o fleshly_a pleasure_n and_o worldly_a profit_n to_o be_v of_o great_a advantage_n than_o any_o thing_n that_o can_v accrue_v to_o thou_o by_o christ_n death_n do_v thou_o not_o think_v as_o base_o of_o he_o as_o any_o of_o his_o crucifier_n do_v and_o have_v thou_o be_v there_o with_o this_o frame_n of_o heart_n be_v be_v not_o most_o likely_a thou_o will_v have_v join_v with_o they_o what_o ever_o thou_o may_v now_o think_v as_o they_o hate_v christ_n because_o he_o tell_v they_o the_o truth_n and_o reprove_v they_o for_o sin_n and_o therefore_o do_v all_o they_o can_v to_o rid_v themselves_o of_o one_o who_o preach_v and_o presence_n be_v such_o a_o burden_n to_o they_o so_o do_v thou_o appear_v in_o effect_n a_o hater_n of_o christ_n his_o life_n and_o doctrine_n whilst_o thou_o walk_v so_o flat_o contrary_a thereto_o and_o what_o be_v this_o less_o than_o desire_v that_o there_o be_v no_o god_n nor_o christ_n to_o govern_v and_o judge_v thou_o no_o such_o rule_n as_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v thy_o guide_n nay_o let_v i_o tell_v thou_o thou_o who_o have_v profess_v thyself_o a_o christian_n and_o yet_o have_v behave_v thyself_o thus_o unworthy_o towards_o christ_n thou_o be_v herein_o more_o guilty_a than_o the_o jew_n themselves_o for_o what_o they_o do_v be_v very_o much_o out_o of_o ignorance_n but_o thou_o after_o thou_o have_v know_v that_o he_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o that_o he_o lay_v down_o his_o life_n for_o our_o sin_n have_v manifest_v all_o thy_o contempt_n of_o he_o and_o reject_v he_o from_o be_v thy_o saviour_n whilst_o thou_o will_v not_o be_v save_v by_o he_o from_o thy_o reign_a lust_n which_o thou_o have_v love_v more_o than_o he_o as_o judas_n love_v the_o money_n for_o which_o he_o be_v hire_v to_o betray_v he_o after_o thou_o have_v know_v of_o that_o friendship_n which_o by_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n be_v show_v to_o the_o ruin_a world_n yet_o thou_o have_v be_v a_o enemy_n to_o this_o cross_n whilst_o thou_o have_v make_v thy_o belly_n thy_o god_n and_o mind_v earthly_a thing_n whilst_o thou_o have_v delightful_o live_v in_o the_o practice_n of_o any_o know_a sin_n what_o then_o be_v the_o jew_n prick_v to_o the_o heart_n when_o they_o be_v convince_v that_o they_o have_v crucify_v that_o jesus_n who_o god_n have_v make_v lord_n and_o christ_n and_o shall_v it_o not_o have_v the_o same_o effect_n on_o thou_o to_o consider_v thou_o have_v be_v guilty_a in_o some_o sort_n of_o the_o same_o wickedness_n and_o have_v show_v forth_o the_o very_a same_o spirit_n that_o be_v in_o they_o for_o think_v not_o thyself_o more_o blameless_a because_o thou_o never_o see_v christ_n nor_o have_v any_o hand_n in_o his_o death_n nor_o do_v join_v with_o his_o enemy_n in_o accuse_v condemn_v and_o reproach_v he_o but_o cry_v out_o against_o they_o as_o monster_n of_o man_n that_o persecute_v the_o most_o spotless_a innocence_n with_o such_o savage_a fierceness_n for_o all_o this_o while_n thy_o guilt_n may_v be_v as_o great_a as_o they_o whilst_o thou_o have_v as_o great_a a_o enmity_n against_o the_o image_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o law_n of_o christ_n as_o they_o have_v against_o his_o person_n and_o that_o thou_o do_v not_o wound_v he_o and_o spit_v in_o his_o face_n be_v not_o from_o the_o goodness_n of_o thy_o nature_n but_o because_o he_o be_v out_o of_o thy_o reach_n for_o be_v he_o now_o before_o thou_o and_o can_v it_o gratify_v thy_o lust_n so_o to_o deal_v with_o he_o it_o be_v much_o to_o be_v fear_v thou_o will_v not_o stick_v at_o it_o whilst_o the_o pharisee_n condemn_v their_o forefather_n for_o kill_v the_o prophet_n they_o they_o converse_v with_o and_o after_o some_o time_n this_o king_n take_v pity_n on_o his_o banish_a subject_n shall_v agree_v with_o his_o only_a son_n that_o if_o he_o will_v venture_v upon_o the_o unthankful_a have_v you_o be_v towards_o the_o great_a god_n whilst_o you_o have_v keep_v away_o from_o his_o table_n notwithstanding_o which_o he_o have_v again_o and_o again_o send_v forth_o his_o servant_n to_o invite_v you_o thither_o in_o that_o way_n and_o to_o those_o end_n which_o he_o have_v reveal_v but_o oh_o sir_n do_v no_o more_o so_o foolish_o so_o impudent_o i_o beseech_v you_o when_o they_o be_v come_v into_o canaan_n they_o shall_v after_o a_o few_o year_n have_v leave_v it_o off_o may_v not_o god_n just_o have_v tax_v they_o with_o forget_v their_o deliverance_n itself_o more_o welcome_a than_o to_o be_v free_v from_o any_o outward_a affliction_n you_o may_v lie_v under_o all_o you_o that_o be_v sincere_a and_o to_o such_o only_o i_o be_o now_o speak_v can_v but_o acknowledge_v that_o the_o frame_n of_o your_o soul_n be_v such_o as_o i_o have_v be_v inquire_v after_o how_o harshlie_o soever_o you_o may_v conclude_v of_o yourselves_o notwithstanding_o and_o if_o that_o the_o witness_n which_o the_o scripture_n give_v of_o christ_n be_v true_a whatever_o temptation_n you_o may_v have_v to_o infidelity_n yet_o be_v not_o this_o the_o prevalent_a persuasion_n of_o your_o mind_n that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o true_a messiah_n by_o who_o the_o fall_a world_n be_v to_o be_v recover_v out_o of_o its_o ruin_n do_v you_o not_o believe_v he_o furnish_v with_o full_a power_n and_o authority_n to_o accomplish_v this_o design_n do_v you_o not_o believe_v that_o his_o death_n be_v sufficient_a for_o the_o ransom_n of_o the_o world_n and_o all_o other_o truth_n concern_v he_o that_o you_o find_v reveal_v in_o the_o gospel_n and_o then_o be_v you_o not_o resolve_v that_o this_o jesus_n shall_v be_v your_o saviour_n and_o none_o but_o he_o do_v you_o not_o from_o your_o heart_n acknowledge_v yourselves_o miserable_a lose_a creature_n altogether_o unable_a to_o restore_v yourselves_o or_o to_o do_v any_o thing_n that_o may_v satisfy_v god_n justice_n or_o in_o itself_o deserve_v recompense_n or_o acceptance_n so_o that_o you_o be_v convince_v if_o ever_o you_o be_v save_v it_o must_v be_v through_o christ_n and_o be_v you_o not_o earnest_o desirous_a of_o this_o above_o all_o thing_n that_o god_n for_o his_o son_n sake_n will_v pardon_v and_o save_v you_o yea_o more_o than_o that_o be_v you_o not_o sincere_o willing_a that_o christ_n shall_v rule_v in_o your_o heart_n and_o guide_v you_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o frame_v you_o according_a to_o his_o will_n do_v you_o not_o account_v his_o command_n holy_a just_a and_o good_a and_o do_v you_o not_o desire_v strength_n from_o he_o your_o head_n to_o obey_v they_o and_o to_o conquer_v all_o temptation_n from_o within_o and_o without_o that_o will_v draw_v you_o aside_o do_v you_o not_o believe_v the_o promise_n which_o he_o have_v make_v and_o the_o threaten_n which_o he_o have_v denounce_v to_o be_v certain_o true_a and_o do_v you_o not_o desire_v more_o that_o you_o may_v have_v a_o share_n in_o these_o promise_n than_o enjoy_v any_o create_v good_a and_o do_v you_o not_o fear_v his_o threaten_a wrath_n more_o than_o any_o outward_a suffering_n be_v it_o thus_o with_o you_o as_o i_o be_o confident_a it_o be_v and_o yet_o will_v you_o cry_v out_o that_o you_o can_v believe_v what_o can_v you_o not_o believe_v why_o alas_o you_o can_v believe_v you_o shall_v ever_o be_v save_v by_o jesus_n christ._n be_v that_o it_o then_o which_o your_o belief_n only_o stick_v at_o but_o suppose_v it_o do_v you_o be_v not_o therefore_o present_o unbeliever_n in_o scripture-stile_n or_o in_o god_n account_n for_o this_o be_v not_o that_o which_o be_v so_o much_o press_v upon_o you_o observe_v well_o the_o language_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o â—uns_v thus_o believe_v in_o christ_n and_o thou_o shall_v be_v save_v not_o believe_v that_o thâ—u_n shall_v be_v save_v by_o christ._n this_o absolute_a persuasion_n of_o thy_o own_o salvation_n be_v not_o so_o much_o enjoin_v thou_o however_o not_o in_o the_o first_o place_n but_o rather_o thy_o acceptance_n of_o christ_n that_o thou_o may_v be_v save_v by_o he_o and_o yet_o methinks_v if_o thou_o weigh_v thing_n well_o thou_o may_v be_v raise_v to_o such_o well_o ground_a hope_n of_o thy_o own_o particular_a happiness_n as_o may_v very_o much_o conquer_v these_o doubt_n and_o fear_n which_o thou_o complain_v of_o under_o the_o name_n of_o unbelief_n for_o let_v i_o ask_v thou_o serious_o why_o be_v it_o thou_o can_v not_o believe_v thou_o shall_v be_v save_v by_o christ_n it_o be_v not_o i_o know_v because_o thou_o doubte_v of_o the_o sufficiency_n of_o his_o satisfaction_n or_o of_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o promise_n or_o the_o graciousnesse_n of_o his_o nature_n for_o art_n thou_o not_o full_o persuade_v that_o he_o will_v save_v all_o those_o who_o true_o believe_v in_o he_o i_o make_v no_o doubt_n but_o thou_o be_v wherefore_o hence_o it_o be_v plain_a that_o thy_o fear_n of_o long_o to_o be_v free_v from_o you_o have_v no_o sin_n that_o make_v you_o unfit_a for_o the_o sacrament_n nay_o more_o this_o your_o sense_n of_o sin_n make_v you_o right_o fit_v for_o it_o and_o then_o there_o be_v less_o ground_n of_o doubt_n as_o to_o the_o fear_n and_o sadness_n you_o may_v labour_v under_o or_o any_o temptation_n with_o which_o you_o be_v trouble_v you_o can_v sure_o be_v so_o weak_a as_o to_o think_v yourselves_o upon_o any_o of_o these_o account_n unmeet_a for_o your_o lord_n table_n for_o you_o must_v remember_v he_o never_o make_v this_o the_o qualification_n of_o his_o guest_n that_o they_o shall_v come_v want_v nothing_o but_o he_o call_v hither_o the_o necessitous_a to_o supply_v their_o want_n you_o come_v not_o hither_o only_o to_o be_v thankful_a for_o what_o you_o have_v receive_v but_o to_o receive_v far_o what_o your_o soul_n stand_v in_o need_n of_o you_o will_v think_v he_o argue_v at_o a_o very_a silly_a rate_n that_o shall_v tell_v you_o you_o must_v not_o go_v to_o a_o feast_n till_o your_o hunger_n be_v satisfy_v nor_o come_v to_o the_o fire_n till_o you_o be_v warm_a and_o yet_o no_o better_o be_v the_o sophistry_n of_o satan_n whereby_o he_o will_v persuade_v you_o that_o whilst_o you_o feel_v so_o many_o imperfection_n cleave_v to_o you_o and_o lie_v under_o such_o great_a doubt_n you_o must_v stay_v away_o from_o the_o sacrament_n when_o as_o this_o be_v one_o mean_v appoint_v by_o god_n for_o your_o relief_n here_o be_v both_o physic_n and_o food_n administer_v to_o the_o sick_a and_o faint_a and_o god_n may_v take_v this_o season_n of_o reveal_v himself_o to_o you_o and_o satisfy_v those_o doubt_n which_o you_o can_v no_o other_o way_n get_v rid_v of_o thus_o have_v it_o be_v with_o many_o a_o soul_n why_o may_v it_o not_o be_v so_o with_o you_o
