and_o be_v possess_v with_o all_o power_n to_o give_v grace_n so_o this_o work_n of_o his_o kingdom_n be_v that_o which_o we_o must_v take_v to_o heart_n as_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o our_o comfort_n to_o wit_n that_o the_o king_n of_o saint_n as_o he_o be_v call_v in_o the_o revelation_n he_o be_v with_o we_o he_o it_o be_v that_o fight_v our_o battle_n against_o the_o dragon_n and_o the_o whore_n his_o might_n and_o power_n only_o prevail_v and_o the_o scripture_n tell_v we_o that_o if_o we_o will_v fight_v valiant_o christ_n shall_v tread_v satan_n under_o our_o foot_n all_o our_o strength_n stand_v in_o his_o strength_n as_o the_o apostle_n say_v he_o be_v able_a to_o abound_v and_o to_o want_v and_o to_o do_v all_o thing_n through_o christ_n that_o strengthen_v he_o elsewhere_o he_o say_v with_o what_o power_n he_o labour_v to_o convert_v man_n unto_o god_n by_o power_n from_o he_o which_o work_v mighty_o in_o he_o where_o he_o do_v acknowledge_v that_o all_o the_o power_n he_o have_v to_o do_v any_o good_a in_o god_n house_n be_v even_o in_o christ_n the_o son_n of_o god_n alone_o therefore_o say_v he_o it_o be_v not_o i_o but_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n that_o be_v in_o i_o see_v then_o that_o all_o the_o virtue_n of_o a_o preacher_n 15._o and_o strength_n of_o a_o christian_a and_o all_o the_o virtue_n of_o christ_n mediation_n &_o suffer_v depend_v upon_o christ_n kingdom_n and_o power_n how_o much_o the_o more_o shall_v we_o consider_v this_o with_o joy_n as_o the_o chief_a ground_n of_o our_o consolation_n in_o all_o danger_n to_o wit_n that_o kingly_a office_n first_o in_o what_o respect_n they_o be_v more_o manifest_v and_o more_o sensible_a and_o more_o easy_a to_o be_v see_v of_o the_o world_n than_o his_o kingly_a power_n for_o he_o be_v see_v to_o teach_v on_o earth_n and_o he_o teach_v with_o authority_n and_o not_o as_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n do_v and_o he_o perform_v his_o priestly_a office_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o all_o the_o world_n the_o world_n hear_v he_o preach_v and_o the_o world_n see_v he_o die_v these_o be_v not_o thing_n of_o much_o secrecy_n as_o this_o be_v to_o wit_n this_o man_n so_o base_a on_o earth_n that_o now_o they_o shall_v see_v he_o crown_v with_o honour_n and_o glory_n there_o be_v great_a difference_n between_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o messenger_n here_o and_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o servant_n or_o messenger_n of_o earthly_a king_n for_o the_o one_o be_v whole_o earthly_a &_o the_o other_o be_v whole_o spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a so_o that_o so_o far_o as_o heaven_n differ_v from_o earth_n so_o far_o differ_v christ_n kingdom_n from_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o earth_n his_o kingdom_n stand_v not_o in_o fleshly_a pomp_n but_o it_o stand_v whole_o in_o the_o spirit_n and_o power_n of_o it_o so_o this_o bring_v we_o to_o the_o second_o point_n of_o his_o confession_n to_o wit_n that_o his_o kingdom_n be_v not_o of_o this_o world_n the_o jew_n will_v have_v make_v christ_n a_o king_n but_o he_o refuse_v &_o as_o he_o be_v a_o king_n so_o he_o be_v constant_a to_o avouch_v the_o matter_n of_o his_o kingdom_n to_o be_v spiritual_a and_o not_o carnal_a why_o shall_v we_o that_o be_v his_o minister_n make_v his_o glory_n and_o his_o kingdom_n a_o worldly_a kingdom_n do_v we_o not_o thereby_o falsify_v god_n truth_n see_v our_o master_n refuse_v all_o carnal_a and_o worldly_a authority_n but_o only_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n &_o why_o shall_v we_o seek_v after_o a_o carnal_a glory_n and_o pomp_n when_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o his_o kingdom_n be_v not_o of_o this_o world_n certain_o the_o less_o we_o be_v in_o the_o world_n and_o the_o less_o we_o be_v like_a to_o man_n in_o worldly_a honour_n the_o more_o like_a we_o be_v to_o the_o son_n of_o god_n if_o we_o be_v clothe_v with_o grace_n with_o sanctification_n and_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n dwell_v in_o we_o plentiful_o this_o shall_v be_v our_o honour_n and_o thus_o we_o see_v how_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o place_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n in_o this_o wherein_o it_o stand_v certain_o all_o earthly_a power_n be_v so_o far_o from_o appertain_v to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n as_o that_o those_o that_o seek_v it_o walk_v not_o with_o a_o even_a foot_n in_o the_o ministry_n 4._o neither_o do_v he_o the_o part_n of_o a_o faithful_a minister_n the_o apostle_n have_v a_o strange_a say_n and_o yet_o a_o true_a one_o if_o our_o gospel_n be_v hide_v it_o be_v hide_v in_o they_o that_o perish_v who_o the_o god_n of_o this_o world_n have_v blind_v for_o we_o preach_v not_o ourselves_o but_o christ_n jesus_n the_o lord_n and_o ourselves_o your_o servant_n for_o christ_n sake_n and_o that_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o power_n may_v be_v of_o god_n and_o of_o christ_n that_o all_o the_o world_n may_v see_v that_o the_o power_n of_o our_o ministry_n be_v not_o from_o ourselves_o that_o we_o shall_v force_v your_o conscience_n to_o submit_v unto_o the_o son_n of_o god_n for_o our_o ministry_n be_v whole_o spiritual_a as_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o all_o the_o weapon_n of_o our_o warfare_n be_v from_o god_n in_o heaven_n 10._o they_o be_v not_o carnal_a but_o mighty_a through_o god_n it_o be_v god_n that_o make_v the_o gospel_n powerful_a and_o that_o make_v the_o labour_n of_o mortal_a man_n powerful_a to_o subdue_v man_n to_o obedience_n thus_o to_o be_v brief_a the_o second_o point_n of_o christ_n confession_n be_v to_o disclaim_v his_o kingdom_n from_o be_v a_o worldly_a kingdom_n therefore_o we_o shall_v disclaim_v all_o worldly_a pomp_n and_o not_o compare_v christ_n to_o any_o worldly_a petty_a king_n for_o it_o be_v whole_o spiritual_a as_o the_o lord_n say_v to_o his_o people_n to_o comfort_v they_o against_o the_o egyptian_n he_o say_v the_o egyptian_n be_v flesh_n and_o not_o spirit_n as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v they_o be_v but_o flesh_n and_o therefore_o they_o can_v do_v nothing_o against_o the_o spirit_n the_o 3._o point_n of_o his_o confession_n be_v this_o that_o he_o come_v into_o the_o world_n and_o be_v bear_v to_o this_o end_n to_o bear_v witness_n of_o the_o truth_n wherefore_o this_o be_v to_o teach_v pastoure_n to_o follow_v his_o footstep_n and_o to_o know_v what_o be_v our_o call_n wherefore_o the_o lord_n have_v send_v we_o into_o this_o world_n which_o be_v to_o bear_v witness_n of_o the_o truth_n god_n have_v not_o send_v we_o into_o this_o world_n to_o bear_v witness_n unto_o a_o lie_n nor_o to_o justify_v any_o falsehood_n but_o to_o maintain_v the_o truth_n until_o death_n as_o christ_n avouch_v this_o to_o be_v his_o office_n and_o he_o do_v according_o so_o shall_v we_o that_o be_v pastor_n acknowledge_v this_o to_o be_v our_o office_n not_o to_o justify_v man_n lie_n but_o to_o bear_v witness_n and_o record_v to_o god_n truth_n so_o we_o see_v this_o afford_v great_a instruction_n for_o we_o to_o show_v we_o wherein_o our_o felicity_n stand_v especial_o in_o witness_v he_o to_o be_v our_o king_n and_o his_o kingdom_n not_o to_o be_v of_o this_o world_n thus_o the_o penitent_a thief_n do_v believe_v that_o he_o be_v a_o king_n and_o that_o his_o kingdom_n be_v not_o of_o this_o world_n therefore_o he_o beseech_v he_o to_o remember_v he_o when_o he_o come_v in_o his_o kingdom_n and_o that_o we_o be_v send_v of_o god_n to_o bear_v witness_n unto_o his_o truth_n and_o for_o this_o we_o be_v to_o lay_v down_o our_o life_n it_o be_v a_o woeful_a thing_n to_o
the_o cross_n &_o despite_o the_o shame_n for_o the_o glory_n that_o be_v set_v before_o he_o so_o must_v we_o endure_v all_o the_o affliction_n that_o the_o world_n can_v lay_v upon_o we_o and_o we_o must_v stand_v steadfast_a to_o god_n truth_n or_o else_o we_o may_v just_o doubt_v whether_o ever_o god_n will_v save_v we_o or_o no_o so_o that_o pastor_n must_v look_v upon_o christ_n &_o learn_v of_o he_o meekness_n and_o lowliness_n of_o heart_n &_o piety_n and_o the_o true_a service_n of_o god_n this_o be_v the_o general_a we_o will_v come_v more_o particular_o to_o this_o that_o the_o apostle_n here_o set_v down_o especial_o in_o confession_n he_o set_v down_o christ_n confession_n there_o be_v two_o thing_n upon_o which_o depend_v our_o salvation_n the_o first_o be_v the_o inward_a action_n of_o the_o heart_n the_o second_o be_v the_o outward_a action_n of_o the_o mouth_n 10._o with_o the_o heart_n man_n believe_v to_o righteousness_n &_o with_o the_o mouth_n he_o confess_v to_o salvation_n now_o the_o apostle_n have_v to_o do_v with_o pastor_n not_o so_o much_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o inward_a disposition_n of_o their_o heart_n as_o of_o their_o outward_a pattern_n therefore_o he_o speak_v not_o a_o word_n of_o the_o inward_a disposition_n of_o the_o heart_n but_o of_o outward_a faithfulness_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o principal_o we_o be_v to_o look_v into_o namely_o how_o christ_n profess_v &_o confess_v &_o witness_v this_o his_o confession_n for_o these_o two_o be_v to_o be_v distinguish_v there_o be_v confession_n which_o be_v the_o matter_n &_o there_o be_v witness_v that_o be_v the_o fact_n so_o that_o we_o be_v to_o consider_v his_o confession_n &_o the_o witness_v of_o it_o &_o the_o place_n where_o that_o it_o be_v even_o under_o pont._n pilate_n or_o before_o he_o &_o so_o much_o the_o rather_o be_v we_o to_o take_v this_o to_o heart_n because_o we_o have_v a_o sad_a say_n which_o christ_n set_v down_o not_o only_o to_o pastor_n but_o to_o all_o christian_n where_o he_o say_v that_o heâ—_n which_o be_v ashamed_a of_o i_o before_o man_n &_o deny_v i_o before_o man_n of_o he_o will_v i_o be_v ashamed_a before_o my_o father_n &_o deny_v he_o but_o he_o that_o confess_v i_o before_o man_n he_o will_v i_o confess_v before_o my_o father_n in_o heaven_n it_o be_v therefore_o a_o dangerous_a thing_n to_o err_v in_o this_o see_v so_o heavy_a a_o sentence_n be_v give_v of_o they_o which_o confess_v he_o not_o this_o be_v the_o point_n which_o we_o be_v to_o look_v unto_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o christian_n to_o glory_n as_o many_o foolish_o do_v to_o wit_n of_o their_o faith_n that_o they_o do_v believe_v and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n although_o they_o profess_v god_n in_o word_n yet_o they_o deny_v he_o in_o deed_n as_o paul_n say_v to_o titus_n now_o god_n will_v not_o have_v this_o but_o he_o will_v have_v as_o man_n believe_v with_o the_o heart_n so_o he_o shall_v confess_v the_o truth_n with_o his_o mouth_n if_o ever_o he_o think_v to_o be_v save_v the_o apostle_n be_v not_o ashamed_a no_o not_o in_o the_o very_a sight_n of_o the_o scribe_n &_o pharisee_n when_o they_o be_v accuse_v and_o forbid_v to_o preach_v in_o christ_n name_n they_o say_v plain_o to_o they_o judge_v you_o whether_o it_o be_v better_a to_o obey_v god_n or_o man_n the_o whole_a world_n can_v not_o silence_v they_o when_o god_n command_v they_o to_o speak_v he_o will_v never_o hold_v his_o peace_n from_o that_o which_o christ_n have_v make_v he_o a_o witness_n unto_o now_o all_o pastor_n be_v christ_n witness_n as_o christ_n say_v he_o have_v choose_v they_o to_o be_v witness_n to_o the_o gentile_n of_o that_o which_o they_o have_v hear_v &_o see_v pastor_n be_v the_o witness_n of_o christ_n and_o be_v appoint_v to_o bear_v record_n of_o his_o truth_n &_o if_o they_o be_v silent_a in_o this_o &_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n or_o life_n make_v they_o to_o shut_v their_o lip_n from_o speak_v of_o god_n truth_n this_o sentence_n shall_v meet_v they_o in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n &_o the_o prince_n of_o pastor_n shall_v be_v their_o conviction_n that_o they_o have_v not_o walk_v as_o become_v they_o because_o they_o do_v not_o do_v as_o he_o do_v so_o this_o confession_n be_v the_o thing_n that_o the_o apostle_n lay_v before_o we_o because_o fear_v many_o time_n make_v man_n dissemble_v with_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n &_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n many_o time_n make_v man_n to_o pervert_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n &_o to_o keep_v it_o close_o when_o god_n require_v it_o shall_v be_v speak_v the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v a_o example_n to_o we_o who_o never_o do_v pervert_v the_o truth_n nor_o conceal_v it_o for_o if_o every_o christian_a be_v bind_v to_o the_o apostle_n commandment_n to_o give_v a_o reason_n of_o his_o faith_n to_o every_o one_o that_o shall_v ask_v it_o how_o much_o more_o be_v he_o bind_v to_o this_o that_o he_o that_o teach_v other_o shall_v own_v and_o maintain_v this_o truth_n as_o occasion_n be_v offer_v this_o be_v therefore_o the_o truth_n &_o the_o duty_n that_o especial_o we_o must_v look_v unto_o we_o must_v confess_v the_o truth_n &_o acknowledge_v the_o truth_n come_v what_o can_v come_v we_o must_v not_o be_v ashamed_a of_o it_o second_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o christ_n witness_v a_o good_a death_n he_o confess_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o he_o ratify_v it_o by_o his_o death_n &_o this_o be_v the_o main_a cause_n why_o in_o matthew_n &_o luke_n that_o they_o say_v unto_o he_o we_o have_v find_v he_o pervert_v the_o nation_n &_o say_v he_o be_v a_o king_n and_o this_o be_v the_o question_n that_o pontius_n pilate_n move_v unto_o he_o when_o he_o say_v be_v thou_o the_o king_n of_o the_o jew_n and_o christ_n say_v unto_o he_o thou_o have_v say_v it_o this_o be_v that_o confession_n which_o the_o apost_n aim_n at_o &_o it_o be_v set_v down_o full_o in_o the_o 18._o of_o john_n where_o fore_o to_o the_o intent_n that_o we_o may_v the_o better_o know_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o place_n let_v we_o consider_v the_o word_n there_o set_v down_o at_o the_o 33_o verse_n than_o pilate_n enter_v into_o the_o judgement_n hall_n again_o &_o call_v jesus_n and_o say_v unto_o he_o be_v thou_o the_o king_n of_o the_o jew_n jesus_n answer_v he_o say_v thou_o end_n to_o bear_v witness_n unto_o the_o truth_n and_o four_a every_o one_o of_o the_o truth_n do_v hear_v his_o voice_n these_o be_v the_o four_o part_n of_o his_o confession_n it_o be_v not_o therefore_o without_o great_a cause_n that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n charge_v pastor_n in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n before_o he_o that_o witness_v this_o good_a confession_n before_o pontius_n pilate_n for_o it_o serve_v not_o only_o for_o example_n but_o likewise_o for_o great_a instruction_n
god_n again_o god_n take_v those_o ruler_n from_o they_o again_o and_o make_v their_o enemy_n their_o lord_n to_o let_v we_o see_v the_o truth_n of_o this_o that_o it_o be_v our_o sin_n against_o god_n which_o cause_v he_o to_o send_v wicked_a tyrant_n over_o a_o people_n to_o repay_v they_o home_n according_a as_o they_o have_v deal_v with_o he_o and_o it_o be_v his_o mercy_n to_o his_o own_o that_o he_o give_v they_o good_a and_o gracious_a ruler_n always_o it_o teach_v we_o this_o that_o reverence_n must_v be_v give_v to_o he_o which_o god_n have_v set_v in_o authority_n over_o we_o since_o they_o be_v set_v over_o we_o by_o god_n to_o come_v yet_o near_o to_o the_o point_n do_v not_o god_n give_v power_n to_o the_o devil_n to_o be_v the_o prince_n of_o the_o air_n how_o can_v he_o prevail_v as_o he_o do_v over_o the_o soul_n and_o body_n of_o man_n if_o god_n do_v not_o give_v he_o liberty_n look_v to_o the_o history_n of_o job_n what_o can_v he_o do_v against_o job_n nothing_o but_o by_o the_o permission_n of_o god_n so_o in_o the_o gospel_n when_o there_o be_v two_o man_n possess_v of_o the_o devil_n which_o meet_v christ_n in_o the_o way_n and_o he_o dispossess_v the_o devil_n when_o they_o be_v cast_v out_o they_o have_v not_o so_o much_o power_n as_o to_o possess_v the_o swine_n till_o christ_n give_v they_o leave_v &_o so_o do_v god_n give_v power_n to_o the_o devil_n as_o we_o read_v in_o the_o revelation_n where_o it_o be_v say_v that_o he_o set_v up_o his_o vicar_n in_o the_o church_n who_o shall_v exercise_v the_o power_n of_o the_o devil_n in_o the_o church_n and_o yet_o all_o this_o be_v of_o god_n to_o punish_v the_o wickedness_n of_o the_o world_n and_o to_o avenge_v himself_o upon_o his_o enemy_n which_o have_v not_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n as_o they_o shall_v and_o if_o god_n give_v such_o power_n to_o wicked_a man_n it_o be_v to_o make_v they_o his_o firebrand_n to_o plague_v the_o contemner_n of_o god_n and_o despiser_n of_o his_o word_n but_o to_o go_v far_o this_o be_v not_o only_o a_o lesson_n to_o teach_v we_o not_o to_o be_v afraid_a of_o man_n terror_n and_o to_o reverence_v the_o who_o god_n have_v set_v in_o authority_n over_o we_o but_o likewise_o it_o seru_v we_o for_o another_o lesson_n and_o that_o be_v this_o that_o king_n and_o superior_n we_o be_v to_o obey_v in_o the_o lord_n &_o no_o far_o for_o they_o have_v a_o lord_n over_o they_o who_o have_v make_v they_o our_o lord_n therefore_o i_o must_v obey_v they_o but_o in_o the_o lord_n this_o we_o must_v not_o obey_v the_o king_n against_o that_o king_n that_o make_v he_o a_o king_n for_o god_n be_v the_o king_n of_o king_n and_o lord_n of_o all_o lord_n and_o therefore_o above_o all_o he_o be_v to_o be_v obey_v though_o it_o shall_v cost_v we_o our_o life_n yet_o we_o must_v not_o obey_v prince_n to_o the_o prejudice_n of_o god_n it_o will_v be_v think_v treason_n if_o a_o subject_n shall_v harken_v to_o a_o inferior_a magistrate_n against_o his_o own_o king_n christ_n although_o the_o king_n have_v make_v he_o a_o magistrate_n yet_o if_o i_o shall_v hearken_v unto_o he_o in_o any_o thing_n against_o my_o prince_n i_o be_v a_o traitor_n to_o any_o prince_n and_o be_v it_o so_o among_o man_n and_o shall_v not_o god_n have_v the_o like_a authority_n king_n be_v but_o god_n subject_n and_o inferior_a magistrate_n under_o he_o and_o be_v it_o not_o high_a treason_n to_o obey_v they_o against_o god_n so_o all_o obedience_n that_o be_v give_v unto_o prince_n under_o pretence_n of_o subjection_n to_o they_o be_v contrary_a to_o god_n will_v be_v rebellion_n against_o god_n and_o thus_o much_o concern_v the_o power_n of_o god_n that_o he_o be_v the_o king_n of_o king_n and_o lord_n of_o lord_n now_o only_o bless_v we_o have_v hear_v already_o how_o that_o he_o be_v the_o only_a potentate_n now_o we_o shall_v see_v that_o none_o be_v so_o bless_a as_o he_o and_o blessedness_n can_v be_v expect_v from_o none_o but_o from_o he_o alone_o for_o who_o can_v make_v a_o man_n bless_v that_o be_v not_o bless_v in_o himself_o but_o god_n alone_o therefore_o it_o be_v vain_a to_o think_v to_o have_v a_o happy_a &_o bless_a estate_n from_o any_o prince_n under_o heaven_n except_o from_o god_n alone_o for_o only_o he_o which_o have_v blessedness_n without_o measure_n can_v bestow_v it_o but_o let_v we_o consider_v how_o the_o apostle_n prove_v it_o by_o two_o thing_n first_o because_o he_o only_o have_v immortality_n and_o second_o because_o he_o only_o dwell_v in_o that_o light_n that_o no_o man_n can_v approach_v unto_o and_o from_o these_o two_o he_o conclude_v that_o he_o be_v bless_v and_o he_o only_o can_v give_v it_o he_o that_o have_v life_n and_o a_o eternal_a life_n that_o be_v so_o glorious_a and_o a_o life_n which_o be_v light_n and_o be_v such_o as_o make_v the_o glory_n of_o he_o that_o have_v it_o incomprehensible_a certain_o that_o must_v be_v unspeakable_a felicity_n and_o this_o be_v the_o first_o point_n of_o true_a felicity_n and_o this_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o all_o creature_n be_v say_v to_o be_v subject_a to_o vanity_n because_o they_o be_v subject_a to_o death_n so_o that_o all_o thing_n although_o they_o shall_v have_v their_o heart_n desire_v in_o the_o world_n yet_o they_o can_v be_v happy_a for_o when_o they_o die_v their_o happiness_n cease_v therefore_o to_o be_v true_o happy_a be_v first_o to_o be_v immortal_a which_o be_v not_o only_o to_o be_v exempt_v from_o death_n but_o to_o be_v in_o such_o a_o estate_n where_o death_n can_v come_v and_o to_o have_v corruption_n swallow_v up_o of_o life_n when_o god_n shall_v be_v make_v glorious_a in_o they_o that_o believe_v this_o make_v man_n true_o happy_a therefore_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n have_v both_o in_o the_o old_a and_o new_a testament_n lament_v the_o misery_n of_o man_n in_o this_o that_o his_o life_n be_v but_o threescore_n and_o ten_o and_o it_o be_v quick_o go_v as_o a_o race_n that_o be_v run_v so_o vain_a a_o thing_n be_v man_n and_o if_o we_o have_v nothing_o else_o to_o humble_v we_o but_o this_o namely_o our_o corruption_n and_o mortality_n it_o be_v argument_n enough_o to_o know_v our_o base_a estate_n and_o far_o from_o be_v happy_a in_o this_o world_n in_o that_o we_o be_v not_o exempt_v from_o death_n therefore_o it_o be_v that_o god_n make_v the_o vanity_n of_o man_n who_o heap_v up_o riches_n and_o can_v tell_v who_o shall_v enjoy_v they_o as_o the_o rich_a glutton_n in_o the_o gospel_n who_o say_v soul_n take_v thy_o ease_n thou_o have_v good_n lay_v up_o for_o many_o year_n when_o christ_n tell_v he_o he_o have_v not_o a_o day_n to_o live_v than_o thou_o fool_n who_o shall_v those_o good_n be_v the_o scripture_n mock_v at_o these_o vain_a desire_n so_o that_o be_v a_o man_n what_o he_o can_v be_v in_o this_o world_n yet_o his_o mortality_n make_v he_o wretched_a and_o unhappy_a therefore_o in_o regard_n god_n be_v immortal_a therefore_o he_o be_v only_o bless_v but_o it_o may_v be_v object_v be_v not_o the_o angel_n immortal_a objection_n why_o then_o do_v you_o say_v god_n be_v only_o say_v to_o have_v immortality_n i_o answer_v that_o none_o have_v immortality_n proper_o but_o god_n alone_o for_o true_a immortality_n require_v true_a eternity_n ans_fw-fr that_o be_v to_o say_v it_o be_v without_o begin_n as_o well_o as_o without_o end_v and_o none_o be_v so_o but_o god_n alone_o therefore_o none_o true_o be_v immortal_a but_o god_n alone_o though_o notwithstanding_o god_n have_v make_v the_o angel_n immortal_a and_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n immortal_a that_o be_v for_o durance_n only_o and_o yet_o endurance_n simple_o do_v not_o make_v immortality_n for_o though_o the_o devil_n endure_v for_o ever_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o to_o live_v for_o ever_o a_o thing_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v immortal_a that_o be_v to_o live_v for_o ever_o and_o yet_o not_o free_a from_o god_n wrath_n as_o experience_n shall_v prove_v in_o wicked_a man_n and_o evil_a angel_n and_o reprobate_a man_n but_o to_o speak_v of_o the_o bless_a angel_n and_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o elect_a to_o speak_v true_o as_o the_o matter_n be_v the_o immortality_n of_o angel_n and_o of_o man_n it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o soul_n themselves_o nor_o in_o the_o angel_n themselves_o what_o then_o even_o from_o god_n alone_o as_o it_o be_v say_v act_n 17._o that_o in_o he_o we_o live_v move_v and_o have_v our_o be_v and_o if_o god_n shall_v but_o withdraw_v his_o up-holding_a hand_n and_o power_n neither_o shall_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n nor_o angel_n be_v immortal_a so_o that_o it_o be_v not_o from_o themselves_o but_o from_o
