promise_v by_o god_n in_o his_o word_n &_o believe_v and_o put_v in_o practice_n by_o the_o faithful_a preach_v &_o set_v down_o by_o the_o prophet_n as_o at_o what_o time_n soever_o a_o sinner_n do_v repent_v from_o the_o bottom_n of_o his_o heart_n the_o lord_n will_v put_v away_o all_o his_o iniquity_n etc._n etc._n and_o last_o of_o all_o let_v they_o that_o be_v thus_o trouble_v say_v with_o the_o prophet_n lord_n because_o there_o be_v mercy_n with_o thou_o that_o thou_o may_v be_v fear_v i_o will_v wait_v upon_o thou_o as_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o servant_n wait_v upon_o the_o hand_n of_o his_o master_n and_o i_o will_v condemn_v myself_o of_o folly_n and_o say_v o_o my_o soul_n why_o be_v thou_o so_o heavy_a why_o be_v thou_o cast_v down_o within_o i_o still_o trust_v in_o the_o lord_n for_o he_o be_v thy_o health_n &_o thy_o salvation_n &_o therefore_o thou_o will_v trust_v in_o he_o albeit_o he_o shall_v slay_v thou_o they_o that_o suit_n and_o seek_v for_o these_o mean_n in_o the_o trouble_n of_o their_o conscience_n with_o earnest_a prayer_n and_o fervent_a supplication_n unto_o his_o holy_a majesty_n in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o christ_n shall_v never_o but_o find_v comfort_n to_o their_o weary_a soul_n and_o a_o full_a remedy_n to_o their_o wound_a conscience_n in_o the_o end_n question_n question_n last_o of_o all_o before_o i_o conclude_v this_o question_n may_v be_v move_v that_o if_o the_o trouble_n of_o conscience_n be_v so_o fearful_a a_o thing_n &_o a_o quiet_a conscience_n so_o excellent_a a_o treasure_n why_o then_o be_v it_o that_o so_o many_o be_v so_o careful_a to_o prevent_v the_o trouble_n of_o the_o body_n and_o so_o few_o careful_a for_o the_o trouble_n of_o their_o soul_n and_o conscience_n for_o to_o provide_v remedy_n for_o poverty_n &_o physic_n for_o sickness_n we_o do_v perceive_v few_o to_o be_v slack_a or_o slothful_a and_o yet_o to_o provide_v any_o remedy_n in_o time_n for_o a_o sick_a &_o wound_a conscience_n we_o see_v few_o so_o careful_a as_o will_v loose_v a_o hour_n sleep_n example_n hereof_o we_o may_v perceive_v in_o joseph_n brethren_n who_o sleep_v with_o wound_a and_o guilty_a conscience_n secure_o for_o the_o space_n of_o many_o year_n albeit_o they_o be_v very_o careful_a so_o soon_o as_o they_o be_v punish_v with_o famine_n to_o provide_v a_o hasty_a remedy_n therefore_o but_o regard_v not_o the_o sin_n commit_v against_o joseph_n &_o guiltiness_n of_o their_o conscience_n until_o the_o lord_n waken_v they_o to_o their_o grief_n so_o do_v david_n forget_v his_o murder_n and_o adultery_n for_o a_o year_n space_n and_o ay_o &_o while_o the_o lord_n waken_v he_o up_o to_o repentance_n by_o his_o prophet_n nathan_n for_o answer_v to_o this_o question_n i_o say_v answer_n answer_n that_o it_o be_v because_o we_o desire_v to_o colour_v our_o sin_n and_o hide_v the_o same_o as_o do_v our_o first_o parent_n until_o god_n himself_o do_v reveal_v they_o &_o this_o chief_o do_v all_o adam_n child_n that_o be_v not_o renew_v by_o christ_n and_o so_o shall_v all_o such_o do_v as_o have_v a_o sleep_a and_o careless_a conscience_n as_o have_v most_o man_n at_o this_o day_n until_o they_o be_v either_o waken_v up_o by_o god_n prophet_n and_o his_o word_n to_o try_v their_o conscience_n or_o else_o by_o god_n himself_o by_o some_o inward_a grief_n or_o outward_a trouble_n before_o their_o death_n or_o in_o death_n to_o their_o endless_a grief_n or_o then_o after_o death_n to_o their_o everlasting_a damnation_n let_v we_o therefore_o know_v what_o thing_n conscience_n be_v in_o time_n what_o be_v the_o torment_n of_o a_o evil_a conscience_n what_o be_v the_o exercise_n or_o work_n of_o conscience_n what_o be_v the_o kind_n &_o sort_n of_o conscience_n and_o last_o what_o be_v man_n duty_n concern_v conscience_n and_o how_o he_o may_v get_v a_o good_a conscience_n preserve_v the_o same_o when_o it_o be_v get_v and_o prevent_v the_o trouble_n thereof_o and_o be_v trouble_v after_o what_o manner_n he_o may_v be_v releive_v out_o of_o the_o trouble_n of_o it_o all_o the_o which_o thing_n be_v express_o to_o be_v find_v in_o god_n word_n and_o therefore_o let_v we_o endeavour_n ourselves_o serious_o with_o earnest_a prayer_n to_o seek_v they_o and_o search_v they_o out_o of_o the_o same_o that_o we_o may_v through_o patience_n &_o comfort_v thereof_o conceive_v a_o assure_a hope_n with_o the_o testimony_n of_o a_o excuse_v conscience_n 4_o rom_n 15_o 4_o square_v right_o with_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o word_n of_o everlasting_a life_n through_o jesus_n christ_n our_o lord_n to_o who_o be_v all_o honour_n praise_n and_o glory_n for_o ever_o amen_n finis_fw-la m._n john_n howesoun_n
