and_o we_o will_v hence_o have_v you_o fix_v in_o the_o faith_n of_o these_o two_o 1._o of_o the_o impotency_n of_o nature_n in_o the_o beginning_n or_o promove_v aught_o of_o the_o work_n of_o undervalue_v of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v indeed_o true_a that_o the_o apostle_n peter_n say_v in_o his_o 1_o epist_n chap._n 2._o verse_n 7._o to_o you_o that_o believe_v he_o be_v precious_a which_o place_n though_o it_o confirm_v the_o first_o part_n of_o the_o doctrine_n that_o to_o they_o that_o believe_v not_o he_o be_v not_o precious_a but_o a_o stone_n of_o stumble_v and_o a_o rock_n of_o offence_n albeit_o that_o believer_n be_v compare_v with_o unbeliever_n have_v some_o precious_a esteem_n of_o jesus_n christ_n yet_o if_o we_o consider_v the_o corrupt_a nature_n that_o in_o part_n cleave_v to_o they_o and_o the_o degree_n of_o their_o estimation_n of_o he_o that_o it_o be_v but_o very_o little_a and_o low_a in_o respect_n of_o what_o it_o shall_v be_v and_o the_o many_o peevish_a fit_n too_o be_v and_z fro_n his_o and_o down_n that_o they_o be_v subject_a to_o with_o the_o many_o suspicion_n and_o jealousy_n they_o have_v of_o he_o so_o that_o though_o they_o be_v just_a now_o fresh_a and_o lively_a in_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o faith_n and_o of_o their_o estimation_n of_o christ_n yet_o within_o a_o little_a even_o by_o and_o by_o they_o give_v way_n again_o to_o their_o jealousy_n the_o doctrine_n will_v also_o hold_v true_a of_o they_o we_o esteem_v he_o not_o we_o shall_v give_v the_o second_o doctrine_n and_o then_o speak_v to_o the_o use_n among_o the_o rest_n that_o christ_n die_v for_o all_o sinner_n which_o foster_v people_n security_n and_o their_o groundless_a hope_n of_o admission_n to_o heaven_n but_o here_o we_o see_v that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n in_o lay_v down_o his_o life_n intend_v the_o satisfaction_n of_o divine_a justice_n for_o none_o but_o for_o his_o elect_a people_n and_o if_o so_o there_o be_v many_o for_o who_o he_o never_o intend_v the_o benefit_n of_o his_o death_n there_o be_v three_o particular_a branch_n of_o the_o error_n which_o this_o doctrine_n confute_v 1._o their_o opinion_n which_o be_v more_o lax_n and_o take_v in_o the_o sin_n of_o all_o man_n and_o woman_n in_o the_o world_n and_o give_v they_o a_o equal_a share_n in_o christ_n suffering_n as_o if_o in_o his_o intention_n in_o lay_v down_o of_o his_o life_n and_o in_o god_n purpose_n he_o have_v suffer_v and_o die_v for_o all_o for_o he_o that_o go_v to_o hell_n as_o well_o as_o for_o he_o that_o go_v to_o heaven_n but_o absurd_a also_o even_o with_o respect_n to_o grace_n for_o 1._o it_o make_v grace_v a_o common_a thing_n a_o man_n that_o be_v in_o hell_n to_o be_v as_o much_o oblige_v to_o christ_n as_o one_o that_o be_v in_o heaven_n and_o though_o it_o plausible_o pretend_v to_o give_v grace_n abroad_o and_o large_a extent_n yet_o it_o take_v away_o the_o power_n of_o it_o for_o if_o grace_n be_v thus_o large_o extend_v it_o be_v not_o grace_n that_o make_v the_o application_n of_o grace_n but_o the_o free_a will_n of_o the_o creature_n for_o grace_n according_a to_o this_o opinion_n leave_v man_n to_o be_v save_v or_o not_o as_o they_o please_v and_o leave_v itself_o to_o be_v overcome_v by_o man_n will_n and_o therefore_o these_o error_n divide_v not_o but_o go_v together_o hand_n in_o hand_n for_o where_o grace_n be_v make_v so_o large_a freewill_n be_v make_v to_o have_v a_o dominion_n over_o it_o and_o thus_o the_o weight_n of_o grace_n and_o of_o election_n be_v lay_v upon_o it_o 2._o it_o lessenâ—â—_n the_o estimation_n of_o god_n grace_n in_o the_o mind_n of_o people_n for_o thus_o they_o think_v little_a of_o heaven_n and_o suppose_v that_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n to_o win_v at_o it_o and_o it_o breed_v in_o they_o a_o fearlessness_n of_o hell_n and_o of_o god_n wrath_n and_o if_o many_o of_o you_o have_v not_o drunken_a in_o this_o error_n practical_o you_o will_v not_o be_v so_o confident_a of_o nor_o so_o obstinate_o maintain_v your_o hope_n of_o heaven_n without_o

and_o it_o be_v justice_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o we_o do_v the_o rather_o insist_v in_o the_o refutation_n of_o this_o error_n because_o this_o be_v a_o time_n wherein_o it_o be_v one_o of_o the_o devil_n great_a design_n which_o he_o drive_v to_o trouble_v the_o clear_a spring_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o to_o revive_v this_o error_n among_o the_o rest_n and_o there_o be_v something_o of_o it_o in_o these_o poor_a fool_n body_n who_o speak_v so_o much_o of_o a_o light_n within_o as_o if_o all_o be_v alike_o and_o have_v something_o which_o if_o they_o use_v well_o they_o may_v get_v life_n by_o this_o error_n always_o leave_v man_n to_o be_v master_n and_o carver_n of_o god_n decree_n and_o of_o christ_n purpose_n and_o design_n in_o the_o work_n of_o redemption_n and_o suspend_v the_o benefit_n of_o his_o death_n main_o if_o not_o only_o on_o the_o consent_n of_o man_n freewill_n a_o second_o branch_n of_o the_o error_n which_o this_o doctrine_n refute_v be_v that_o which_o be_v vent_v by_o some_o who_o be_v not_o profess_a enemy_n but_o in_o other_o thing_n deserve_v well_o of_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n which_o therefore_o shall_v be_v our_o grief_n to_o mention_v and_o it_o be_v this_o that_o though_o christ_n have_v not_o simple_o purchase_v redemption_n from_o sin_n to_o all_o man_n that_o yet_o he_o have_v take_v away_o from_o all_o the_o sin_n of_o that_o first_o covenant_n of_o work_n as_o if_o there_o be_v as_o they_o say_v no_o sin_n for_o which_o man_n be_v now_o condemn_v but_o the_o sin_n of_o infidelity_n or_o unbelief_n but_o this_o be_v dangerous_a for_o iâ—_n if_o this_o be_v true_a that_o christ_n death_n be_v only_o a_o price_n for_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o elect_n then_o there_o be_v no_o sin_n of_o other_o reckon_v on_o his_o score_n 2._o it_o halve_v christ_n purchase_n and_o hardly_o will_v we_o find_v christ_n death_n divide_v which_o be_v to_o say_v that_o he_o have_v buy_v a_o man_n in_o part_n or_o haâ—f_n must_v be_v and_o be_v in_o due_a time_n fulfil_v and_o so_o in_o effect_n it_o resolve_v in_o this_o that_o christ_n purpose_n be_v to_o be_v bound_v and_o confine_v to_o say_v so_o to_o the_o elect_a only_o there_o be_v some_o difficulty_n and_o objection_n that_o will_v ready_o here_o be_v move_v which_o we_o will_v not_o enter_v upon_o only_o for_o prevent_v of_o mistake_n it_o stand_v in_o the_o way_n of_o some_o to_o hinder_v their_o believe_a as_o they_o suppose_v that_o christ_n have_v die_v for_o some_o and_o not_o for_o all_o and_o they_o know_v not_o if_o they_o be_v of_o that_o small_a number_n if_o we_o be_v to_o speak_v to_o such_o we_o will_v say_v 1._o god_n have_v not_o elect_v all_o and_o so_o who_o know_v if_o he_o have_v elect_v they_o i_o and_o he_o will_v be_v flee_v for_o refuge_n to_o he_o if_o there_o be_v any_o here_o to_o who_o christ_n have_v manifest_v such_o love_n that_o they_o can_v say_v he_o have_v love_v i_o and_o give_v himself_o for_o i_o o_o how_o be_v you_o oblige_v to_o wonder_n and_o bless_v he_o great_a love_n than_o this_o can_v be_v and_o it_o shall_v warm_v your_o heart_n with_o love_n to_o he_o the_o more_o when_o you_o reflect_v on_o god_n design_n upon_o you_o in_o particular_a in_o the_o covenant_n of_o redemption_n use_v 3d._n if_o christ_n intend_v his_o death_n and_o suffering_n only_o for_o behoove_v of_o the_o elect_n then_o as_o because_o few_o come_v to_o heaven_n all_o shall_v be_v the_o more_o diligent_a so_o because_o christ_n die_v not_o for_o all_o every_o one_o shall_v aim_v in_o god_n own_o way_n to_o have_v it_o make_v sure_a to_o himself_o that_o christ_n die_v for_o he_o and_o shall_v be_v the_o more_o watchful_a and_o diligent_a to_o make_v his_o call_v and_o election_n sure_a because_o as_o it_o be_v not_o all_o that_o be_v elect_v so_o it_o be_v not_o all_o that_o be_v purchase_v by_o christ_n death_n redemption_n be_v sure_a in_o itself_o and_o free_a grace_n kithe_n conspicuous_o in_o it_o yet_o wisdom_n and_o sovereignty_n do_v also_o appear_v in_o this_o that_o it_o be_v not_o of_o all_o therefore_o study_v you_o to_o make_v it_o sure_a by_o flee_v to_o christ_n by_o faith_n and_o by_o the_o study_n of_o holiness_n and_o mortification_n in_o his_o strength_n and_o through_o the_o power_n of_o his_o death_n which_o will_v be_v a_o proof_n of_o your_o interest_n in_o it_o this_o be_v much_o more_o suitable_a than_o to_o be_v quarrel_v with_o god_n
so_o much_o of_o the_o save_n of_o sinner_n and_o therefore_o they_o wonder_v not_o at_o it_o be_v not_o suitable_o affect_v and_o take_v up_o with_o it_o use_v 2._o there_o be_v here_o a_o sweet_a and_o solid_a ground_n for_o quiet_v and_o settle_v the_o faith_n of_o sensible_a sinner_n who_o will_v have_v foot_v to_o their_o faith_n christ_n count_v it_o his_o glory_n and_o triumph_n to_o save_v such_o as_o you_o be_v and_o if_o you_o perish_v that_o will_v fain_o be_v at_o christ_n and_o his_o righteousness_n for_o life_n christ_n shall_v want_v his_o glory_n and_o triumph_n and_o may_v not_o that_o serve_v and_o satisfy_v you_o that_o your_o salvation_n be_v his_o glory_n and_o triumph_n which_o he_o will_v not_o come_v short_a of_o the_o father_n have_v here_o promise_v it_o and_o he_o shall_v not_o he_o can_v want_v it_o sinner_n he_o must_v have_v and_o shall_v have_v to_o be_v save_v because_o his_o victory_n triumph_n and_o spoil_n depend_v on_o it_o a_o wonderful_a condescension_n of_o grace_n which_o be_v not_o easy_o believe_v that_o all_o these_o be_v link_v and_o couple_v together_o and_o through_o other_o as_o it_o be_v sinner_n salvation_n christ_n victory_n triumph_n and_o spoil_v and_o god_n glory_n in_o his_o grace_n love_n faithfulness_n and_o power_n you_o reflect_v no_o doubt_n on_o god_n faithfulness_n who_o suspect_v and_o be_v jealous_a of_o your_o salvation_n if_o indeed_o you_o do_v by_o faith_n betake_v yourselves_o to_o jesus_n christ_n use_v 3._o do_v christ_n think_v so_o much_o of_o the_o salvation_n of_o sinner_n that_o he_o count_v it_o his_o victory_n and_o triumph_n his_o portion_n and_o spoil_n then_o 1._o all_o that_o give_v not_o christ_n their_o soul_n to_o be_v save_v do_v what_o they_o can_v to_o lessen_v christ_n portion_n and_o to_o frustrate_v he_o of_o his_o glory_n 2._o if_o you_o will_v do_v christ_n service_n that_o be_v most_o acceptable_a to_o he_o give_v he_o your_o soul_n to_o be_v save_v by_o he_o frustrate_v not_o his_o grace_n lay_v your_o sin_n on_o he_o and_o look_v for_o salvation_n through_o he_o in_o his_o own_o way_n he_o come_v to_o fight_v with_o principality_n and_o power_n and_o to_o vanquish_v they_o and_o by_o the_o strong_a hand_n to_o rescue_v soul_n from_o they_o and_o step_v you_o to_o at_o his_o back_n for_o that_o be_v his_o satisfaction_n his_o portion_n and_o spoil_n we_o wot_v well_o there_o be_v here_o a_o strong_a and_o effectual_a motive_n to_o persuade_v to_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o a_o strong_a and_o more_o effectual_a can_v be_v think_v upon_o it_o will_v be_v christ_n triumph_n to_o pull_v you_o out_o of_o the_o claw_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o if_o he_o do_v it_o not_o you_o on_o the_o matter_n allow_v the_o devil_n some_o way_n to_o get_v the_o victory_n over_o christ_n which_o be_v yet_o impossible_a but_o the_o devil_n will_v certain_o have_v victory_n over_o you_o to_o who_o you_o will_v be_v slave_n and_o drudge_n for_o ever_o there_o be_v also_o here_o ground_n of_o great_a terror_n and_o of_o dreadful_a warning_n to_o such_o as_o yield_v not_o to_o christ_n because_o they_o do_v what_o they_o can_v to_o impede_fw-la his_o victory_n when_o he_o come_v by_o his_o ordinance_n to_o turn_v they_o from_o darkness_n to_o light_n and_o from_o the_o power_n of_o satan_n to_o god_n they_o thwart_v with_o he_o the_o day_n be_v come_v when_o this_o doctrine_n will_v be_v comfortable_a to_o some_o and_o terrible_a to_o other_o when_o there_o shall_v be_v none_o of_o we_o but_o we_o shall_v see_v it_o confirm_v with_o our_o eye_n when_o he_o as_o a_o man_n sort_v and_o share_v his_o spoil_n after_o the_o victory_n shall_v say_v to_o these_o on_o his_o right_a hand_n come_v you_o bless_v of_o my_o father_n inherit_v the_o kingdom_n prepare_v for_o you_o and_o to_o other_o depart_v from_o i_o you_o curse_v into_o everlasting_a fire_n prepare_v for_o the_o devil_n and_o his_o angel_n even_o as_o if_o a_o conqueror_n shall_v take_v some_o prisoner_n and_o make_v they_o son_n and_o heir_n and_o set_v they_o upon_o throne_n and_o shall_v cast_v other_o into_o perpetual_a prison_n who_o love_v not_o liberty_n and_o indeed_o it_o will_v be_v a_o fearful_a prison_n who_o love_v not_o liberty_n and_o indeed_o it_o will_v be_v a_o fearful_a prison_n to_o be_v in_o hell_n with_o the_o devil_n and_o his_o angel_n either_o we_o will_v be_v part_n of_o christ_n portion_n and_o spoil_v in_o that_o day_n or_o he_o will_v refuse_v disown_n and_o reject_v we_o leave_v we_o to_o be_v a_o everlasting_a prey_n to_o the_o devil_n happy_a they_o who_o he_o choise_v and_o woe_n to_o they_o eternal_o who_o he_o cast_v as_o refuse_v wair_a god_n give_v we_o wisdom_n to_o lay_v these_o thing_n to_o heart_n sermon_n lxiv_o isaiah_n liii_o xii_o verse_n 12._o therefore_o will_v i_o divide_v he_o a_o portion_n with_o the_o great_a and_o he_o shall_v divide_v the_o spoil_n with_o the_o strong_a because_o he_o have_v pour_v out_o his_o soul_n unto_o death_n and_o he_o be_v number_v with_o the_o transgressor_n and_o he_o bear_v the_o sin_n of_o many_o and_o he_o make_v intercession_n for_o the_o transgressor_n this_o covenant_n of_o redemption_n be_v a_o great_a bargain_n there_o be_v never_o such_o party_n as_o the_o lord_n jehovah_n and_o the_o mediator_n and_o we_o may_v say_v there_o be_v never_o such_o condition_n and_o article_n in_o any_o bargain_n as_o be_v in_o this_o the_o verse_n now_o read_v do_v contain_v the_o sum_n of_o that_o which_o be_v agree_v upon_o betwixt_o these_o party_n the_o promise_n upon_o jehovahs_n side_n make_v to_o the_o mediator_n and_o what_o he_o shall_v have_v on_o his_o accept_n of_o the_o offer_n and_o perform_v of_o the_o condition_n require_v of_o he_o and_o what_o be_v the_o term_n propose_v to_o the_o mediator_n and_o the_o condition_n which_o he_o be_v to_o perform_v or_o rather_o have_v perform_v 1._o there_o be_v two_o thing_n promise_v to_o the_o mediator_n i_o will_v divide_v he_o a_o portion_n with_o the_o great_a a_o fair_a and_o large_a victory_n and_o a_o good_a and_o glorious_a out-gate_n and_o he_o shall_v divide_v the_o spoil_n with_o the_o strong_a as_o these_o that_o be_v conqueror_n and_o victor_n use_v to_o share_v most_o large_o and_o deep_o in_o the_o spoil_n so_o our_o lord_n jesus_n shall_v have_v a_o rich_a spoil_n a_o large_a booty_n many_o redeem_a soul_n a_o bride_n who_o he_o shall_v present_v blameless_a to_o the_o father_n these_o be_v the_o spoil_n the_o jewel_n that_o he_o fight_v for_o and_o the_o prey_n he_o choise_v when_o the_o world_n be_v burn_v and_o the_o rest_n be_v send_v to_o hell_n he_o gather_v out_o so_o many_o for_o himself_o 2._o the_o condition_n on_o the_o mediator_n side_n be_v four_o he_o come_v to_o this_o victory_n and_o triumph_n because_o he_o have_v pour_v out_o his_o soul_n unto_o death_n because_o he_o be_v number_v with_o transgressor_n because_o he_o bear_v the_o sin_n of_o many_o and_o because_o he_o make_v intercession_n for_o the_o transgressor_n therefore_o shall_v he_o be_v sure_a of_o all_o this_o although_o there_o be_v no_o express_a name_n of_o a_o covenant_n here_o yet_o you_o see_v the_o thing_n because_o as_o in_o covenant_n among_o man_n there_o be_v two_o party_n and_o their_o engagement_n be_v mutual_a and_o the_o performance_n of_o these_o engagement_n in_o the_o one_o depend_v on_o the_o performance_n of_o they_o in_o the_o other_o so_o be_v it_o here_o 1._o the_o party_n be_v jehovah_n and_o the_o mediator_n 2._o there_o be_v two_o thing_n promise_v to_o the_o mediator_n a_o glorious_a victory_n and_o a_o rich_a spoil_n the_o justify_n of_o many_o 3._o the_o condition_n on_o the_o mediator_n side_n on_o which_o the_o performance_n of_o the_o promise_n depend_v he_o condescend_v to_o die_v and_o to_o die_v willing_o to_o be_v number_v with_o transgressor_n to_o bear_v their_o sin_n and_o to_o make_v intercession_n for_o they_o this_o jehovah_n condescend_v to_o accept_v of_o and_o upon_o this_o many_o to_o wit_n all_o elect_a sinner_n be_v justify_v through_o faith_n on_o he_o as_o it_o be_v v._o 11._o 1._o from_o the_o promise_n make_v to_o christ_n where_o the_o person_n be_v change_v i_o will_v divide_v he_o a_o portion_n with_o the_o great_a and_o he_o shall_v divide_v the_o spoil_n with_o the_o strong_a i_o will_v grant_v he_o such_o a_o thing_n and_o he_o shall_v obtain_v it_o take_v this_o general_a observation_n as_o the_o reason_n of_o it_o that_o all_o the_o promise_v make_v by_o jehovah_n to_o the_o mediator_n be_v certain_a and_o shall_v actual_o be_v perform_v i_o will_v grant_v this_o to_o he_o and_o he_o shall_v get_v it_o the_o connexion_n do_v also_o confirm_v it_o because_o he_o have_v pour_v
these_o cause_n we_o know_v not_o when_o or_o if_o ever_o hereafter_o we_o may_v have_v occasion_n to_o speak_v so_o much_o to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o justification_n therefore_o let_v i_o press_v the_o â—â—udy_n of_o it_o upon_o you_o again_o and_o again_o seek_v to_o know_v what_o this_o impute_a righteousness_n be_v and_o how_o different_a from_o that_o which_o be_v in_o yourselves_o what_o be_v the_o true_a meaning_n of_o it_o as_o a_o main_a â—hing_n of_o the_o gospel_n without_o which_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n can_v never_o be_v understand_v aright_o the_o ignorance_n whereof_o make_v many_o live_v in_o security_n upon_o the_o one_o side_n and_o keep_v many_o in_o much_o anxiety_n upon_o the_o other_o 5_o observe_v that_o although_o christ_n jesus_n have_v bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o many_o even_o of_o all_o his_o own_o people_n yet_o not_o the_o iniquity_n of_o all_o man_n and_o woman_n but_o only_o the_o iniquity_n of_o they_o that_o shall_v be_v justify_v and_o bring_v to_o the_o actual_a possession_n of_o that_o which_o he_o have_v purchase_v this_o may_v be_v make_v out_o from_o these_o three_o in_o the_o text_n 1._o the_o relative_a their_o it_o be_v their_o iniquity_n which_o be_v bear_v by_o christ_n that_o shaâ—l_v be_v justify_v and_o who_o these_o be_v the_o former_a word_n tell_v through_o his_o knowledge_n shall_v he_o justify_v many_o 2._o the_o connexion_n make_v by_o the_o prophet_n betwixt_o these_o two_o many_o shall_v he_o justify_v for_o he_o shall_v bear_v their_o iniquity_n all_o who_o iniquity_n christ_n have_v bear_v shall_v be_v justify_v it_o can_v not_o be_v a_o argument_n to_o prove_v their_o justification_n if_o christ_n shall_v bear_v the_o in_o quity_n of_o other_o or_o of_o all_o man_n and_o woman_n multitude_n of_o who_o be_v never_o justify_v for_o it_o may_v be_v object_v that_o chrisâ—_n bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o those_o many_o who_o be_v never_o justify_v which_o will_v be_v quiâ—e_o contrary_a to_o also_o clear_v the_o doctrine_n for_o so_o consider_v they_o imply_v that_o it_o be_v just_a that_o the_o believer_n shall_v be_v justify_v even_o as_o when_o the_o cautioner_n have_v pay_v the_o debt_n it_o be_v just_a that_o the_o principal_a debtor_n shall_v be_v absolve_v and_o upon_o the_o other_o hand_n it_o be_v not_o just_a that_o the_o debtor_n for_o who_o the_o cautioner_n have_v not_o satisfy_v shall_v be_v absolve_v the_o word_n will_v bear_v these_o twofold_a consequence_n for_o he_o knit_v these_o two_o their_o be_v absolve_v and_o christ_n bear_v their_o iniquity_n and_o be_v make_v liable_a to_o their_o debt_n and_o he_o consequent_o disjoyn_v theâ—e_n two_o christ_n not_o bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o other_o and_o their_o not_o be_v absolve_v and_o so_o although_o christ_n have_v bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o many_o only_o that_o be_v of_o the_o elect_n and_o have_v satisfy_v and_o suffer_v for_o they_o yet_o not_o for_o all_o but_o for_o the_o many_o who_o in_o due_a time_n shall_v through_o his_o knowledge_n that_o be_v through_o faith_n in_o he_o be_v justify_v and_o these_o who_o be_v leave_v to_o pay_v their_o own_o debt_n christ_n never_o die_v for_o they_o it_o be_v very_o unlike_o the_o prophet_n reason_v to_o say_v that_o such_o a_o man_n be_v in_o hell_n and_o yet_o christ_n bear_v his_o iniquity_n use_v 1._o it_o serve_v to_o confirm_v the_o former_a truth_n will_v you_o know_v who_o iniquity_n christ_n â—ath_v bear_v it_o be_v of_o as_o many_o as_o be_v justify_v the_o iniquity_n of_o such_o he_o bear_v and_o of_o no_o more_o 2._o it_o serve_v to_o provock_n you_o that_o have_v get_v in_o christ_n this_o privilege_n to_o be_v very_o thankful_a this_o be_v it_o that_o make_v the_o song_n of_o praise_n heartsome_a revel_v 5.9_o thou_o have_v redeem_v we_o to_o god_n by_o thy_o blood_n out_o of_o every_o kindred_n tongue_n and_o nation_n because_o it_o be_v not_o a_o common_a but_o a_o peculiar_a special_a mercy_n if_o any_o be_v so_o 6_o from_o the_o connexion_n observe_v that_o although_o christ_n have_v not_o bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o all_o man_n and_o woman_n yet_o he_o have_v bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o all_o that_o believe_v and_o none_o ever_o believe_v on_o he_o but_o they_o may_v conclude_v that_o he_o have_v bear_v their_o iniquity_n and_o on_o that_o plead_v their_o justification_n through_o his_o satisfaction_n although_o there_o be_v a_o restriction_n upon_o the_o one_o side_n yet_o there_o be_v none_o on_o the_o other_o all_o be_v not_o justify_v but_o these_o only_a who_o iniquity_n he_o of_o his_o iniquity_n and_o this_o be_v more_o comfortable_a than_o the_o doctrine_n of_o universal_a redemption_n a_o thousand_o time_n for_o it_o join_v christ_n die_v and_o the_o justification_n of_o all_o that_o believe_v on_o he_o so_o that_o there_o be_v none_o that_o by_o faith_n betake_v themselves_o to_o he_o but_o they_o may_v expect_v freedom_n from_o the_o curse_n and_o absolution_n before_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n whereas_o the_o doctrine_n of_o universal_a redemption_n say_v christ_n have_v die_v for_o all_o yet_o all_o shall_v not_o be_v save_v and_o i_o wot_v not_o whether_o i_o shall_v be_v save_v or_o not_o and_o what_o ground_n of_o anxiety_n be_v that_o but_o this_o doctrine_n have_v solid_a consolation_n in_o it_o christ_n have_v not_o die_v for_o all_o simple_o but_o for_o all_o believer_n he_o have_v bear_v all_o their_o sin_n but_o i_o have_v betake_v myself_o to_o he_o by_o faith_n therefore_o he_o die_v for_o i_o he_o have_v bear_v my_o iniquity_n and_o i_o shall_v never_o bear_v they_o myself_o but_o be_v justify_v i_o suppose_v we_o need_v not_o to_o stay_v on_o the_o confirmation_n of_o this_o 1._o it_o be_v impregnable_o prove_v from_o the_o reason_n of_o the_o prophet_n in_o this_o place_n all_o that_o be_v believer_n can_v but_o be_v redeem_a and_o justify_v because_o he_o have_v bear_v their_o iniquity_n who_o by_o faith_n betake_v themselves_o too_o he_o 2._o if_o faith_n in_o christ_n be_v a_o save_a fruit_n of_o his_o death_n and_o if_o none_o can_v believe_v but_o these_o who_o iniquity_n he_o have_v bear_v then_o wherever_o faith_n be_v the_o person_n may_v conclude_v that_o christ_n have_v bear_v his_o iniquity_n and_o that_o he_o shall_v be_v justify_v but_o faith_n in_o christ_n be_v a_o save_a fruit_n and_o effect_n of_o his_o death_n for_o he_o have_v purchase_v it_o among_o the_o rest_n of_o these_o spiritual_a blessing_n speak_v of_o ephes_n 1.3_o where_o we_o be_v say_v to_o be_v bless_v with_o all_o spiritual_a blessing_n in_o he_o and_o it_o be_v a_o promise_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n it_o can_v but_o be_v purchase_v by_o the_o death_n of_o the_o testator_n christ_n jesus_n therefore_o etc._n etc._n 3._o it_o be_v clear_a also_o from_o the_o apostle_n reason_v rom._n 5.10_o for_o if_o when_o we_o be_v enemy_n we_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n by_o the_o death_n of_o his_o son_n much_o more_o be_v reconcile_v we_o shall_v be_v save_v by_o his_o life_n will_v he_o not_o who_o have_v pay_v such_o a_o dear_a price_n for_o we_o to_o purchase_v reconciliation_n to_o we_o make_v it_o out_o by_o bestow_v on_o we_o the_o fruit_n of_o his_o purchase_n the_o 1._o use_n serve_v to_o vindicat_fw-la this_o our_o doctrine_n concern_v christ_n die_v for_o and_o bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o believer_n only_o which_o be_v most_o unjust_o load_v with_o reproach_n and_o debate_v against_o by_o man_n cavilling_n as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o comfortless_a doctrine_n sure_o it_o be_v more_o comfortable_a more_o sure_a and_o more_o agreeable_a both_o to_o the_o wisdom_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n than_o the_o doctrine_n of_o universal_a redemption_n be_v for_o put_v these_o together_o that_o all_o believer_n be_v redeem_v and_o justify_v that_o
christ_n have_v bear_v their_o iniquity_n that_o faith_n be_v a_o save_a grace_n and_o a_o fruit_n of_o christ_n death_n that_o such_o as_o believe_v may_v conclude_v their_o justification_n and_o that_o christ_n will_v make_v out_o the_o benefit_n of_o his_o purchase_n to_o they_o what_o want_v believer_n that_o may_v be_v for_o their_o comfort_n whereas_o if_o we_o shall_v lay_v it_o for_o a_o ground_n that_o christ_n die_v for_o all_o what_o comfort_n be_v in_o that_o for_o all_o be_v not_o justify_v and_o save_v but_o only_a believer_n yea_o by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o universal_a redemption_n though_o you_o be_v even_o new_a believer_n you_o can_v not_o conclude_v that_o you_o shall_v be_v save_v because_o you_o may_v fall_v from_o it_o again_o but_o our_o doctrine_n of_o justification_n have_v solid_a consolation_n for_o rom._n 1.16_o it_o be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n unto_o salvation_n to_o every_o one_o that_o believe_v and_o rom._n 3.12_o it_o be_v unto_o all_o and_o upon_o all_o that_o believe_v and_o it_o make_v the_o believer_n sure_a of_o his_o perseverance_n for_o it_o be_v a_o express_a article_n of_o the_o covenant_n we_o shall_v only_o say_v this_o be_v sick_a and_o solid_o sure_a because_o there_o be_v no_o solid_a ground_n of_o confidence_n in_o it_o the_o 2._o use_v serve_v to_o answer_v a_o question_n that_o some_o out_o of_o curiosity_n pussel_n themselves_o with_o which_o if_o well_o sober_o and_o wise_o follow_v will_v be_v do_v curiosity_n and_o it_o be_v this_o how_o shall_v i_o know_v if_o christ_n die_v for_o i_o answer_v make_v it_o sure_a that_o you_o believe_v and_o then_o you_o shall_v be_v sure_a of_o the_o benefit_n of_o his_o death_n for_o if_o he_o have_v bear_v the_o iniquity_n of_o these_o that_o believe_v
