repentance_n which_o stay_v till_o death_n so_o his_o drift_n be_v to_o show_v that_o man_n happiness_n be_v not_o in_o these_o thing_n which_o we_o count_v off_o but_o in_o those_o thing_n which_o we_o defer_v his_o reason_n be_v that_o they_o be_v all_o vanity_n his_o proof_n be_v because_o there_o be_v no_o stability_n in_o they_o nor_o contentation_n of_o mind_n his_o conclusion_n be_v therefore_o contemn_v the_o world_n and_o look_v up_o to_o heaven_n from_o whence_o you_o come_v and_o whither_o you_o shall_v go_v this_o be_v the_o scope_n which_o solomon_n aim_v at_o as_o though_o superstition_n when_o they_o know_v not_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n word_n and_o pure_a religion_n and_o while_o they_o persuade_v the_o people_n that_o ignorance_n be_v the_o mother_n of_o devotion_n that_o the_o less_o they_o know_v the_o more_o devout_a they_o be_v this_o be_v rather_o a_o furtherance_n to_o their_o damnation_n because_o they_o know_v not_o god_n and_o the_o way_n to_o salvation_n for_o as_o the_o extreme_a want_n of_o bodily_a food_n procure_v death_n to_o the_o body_n so_o the_o extreme_a want_n of_o spiritual_a food_n that_o be_v of_o god_n word_n procure_v death_n to_o the_o soul_n it_o be_v meet_a say_v they_o that_o the_o scripture_n shall_v be_v set_v down_o in_o a_o unknown_a tongue_n lest_o some_o in_o read_v pervert_v they_o unto_o their_o own_o damnation_n which_o be_v not_o a_o sufficient_a reason_n to_o deny_v other_o the_o read_n thereof_o as_o if_o we_o shall_v never_o use_v wine_n because_o some_o by_o abuse_v it_o have_v fall_v into_o drunkenness_n or_o never_o take_v a_o weapon_n in_o hand_n to_o defend_v ourselves_o because_o many_o have_v be_v kill_v thereby_o but_o this_o reason_n of_o they_o be_v but_o a_o device_n of_o man_n not_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o bless_v benefit_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o in_o christ_n jesus_n as_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o our_o sin_n the_o favour_n of_o god_n a_o holy_a life_n a_o quiet_a conscience_n a_o steadfast_a hope_n of_o everlasting_a life_n and_o of_o the_o joy_n that_o be_v to_o come_v we_o be_v hinder_v from_o this_o search_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o tread_v the_o right_a way_n to_o everlasting_a life_n and_o salvation_n but_o that_o we_o shall_v go_v a_o by_o way_n to_o everlasting_a death_n and_o condenmation_n in_o the_o latter_a time_n there_o shall_v be_v many_o false_a teacher_n so_o that_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a they_o shall_v deceive_v the_o very_a elect_a and_o this_o deceit_n be_v no_o mean_a sleight_n but_o the_o indaunger_a of_o our_o soul_n that_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v partaker_n of_o everlasting_a life_n and_o therefore_o we_o be_v will_v to_o try_v the_o spirit_n to_o try_v such_o false_a teacher_n by_o the_o touchstone_n of_o god_n word_n and_o to_o examine_v their_o doctrine_n whether_o it_o be_v agreeable_a to_o the_o scripture_n search_v the_o scripture_n for_o in_o they_o you_o shall_v have_v life_n that_o be_v you_o shall_v that_o god_n will_v continue_v his_o benefit_n gift_n and_o grace_n towards_o we_o which_o we_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o continual_o from_o time_n to_o time_n but_o also_o that_o god_n will_v keep_v we_o from_o evil_a unto_o the_o which_o we_o be_v most_o prone_a and_o whereof_o by_o our_o fleshly_a and_o natural_a corruption_n we_o be_v most_o desirous_a and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o that_o we_o be_v not_o desirous_a nor_o prone_a thereunto_o yet_o mighty_o shall_v we_o be_v provoke_v by_o the_o secret_a temptation_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o by_o the_o evil_a example_n of_o the_o worldâ—_n and_o by_o the_o naughty_a counsel_n of_o those_o that_o be_v ill_o dispose_v from_o all_o which_o mischief_n by_o prayer_n we_o be_v deliver_v beside_o that_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o prayer_n we_o have_v the_o company_n of_o god_n we_o talk_v with_o god_n and_o god_n with_o us._n and_o be_v so_o thankfulness_n thankfulness_n heavenly_a exercise_v what_o can_v be_v more_o godly_a thanfulnesse_n also_o be_v godliness_n when_o we_o be_v not_o unmindful_a of_o god_n benefit_n neither_o forgetful_a to_o show_v our_o duty_n both_o in_o heart_n and_o in_o word_n and_o in_o open_a profession_n and_o in_o do_v good_a to_o other_o to_o testify_v to_o the_o world_n god_n goodness_n towards_o we_o and_o so_o to_o be_v thankful_a too_o thankful_a we_o can_v be_v because_o we_o can_v never_o make_v recompense_n according_a to_o that_o the_o apostle_n say_v in_o all_o thing_n give_v thanks_o by_o nature_n we_o be_v too_o ungrateful_a but_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v change_v our_o mind_n and_o learn_v they_o to_o be_v thankful_a upon_o thankfulness_n contentation_n contentation_n will_v also_o follow_v contentation_n that_o be_v a_o mind_n satisfy_v and_o content_v with_o that_o portion_n which_o god_n have_v send_v they_o that_o be_v not_o content_v can_v never_o be_v satisfy_v neither_o can_v they_o be_v thankful_a and_o they_o that_o can_v neither_o â—e_v content_a nor_o thankful_a it_o can_v hardly_o be_v say_v that_o there_o be_v godliness_n in_o they_o for_o godliness_n be_v great_a gain_n if_o a_o man_n be_v content_a with_o that_o he_o have_v there_o be_v none_o of_o we_o all_o that_o bring_v any_o thing_n into_o the_o world_n and_o certain_a it_o be_v we_o shall_v carry_v nothing_o out_o therefore_o we_o may_v find_v ourselves_o well_o content_v if_o we_o have_v food_n and_o raiment_n wherewithal_o to_o serve_v our_o turn_n but_o if_o this_o will_v not_o serve_v mark_v what_o may_v follow_v they_o that_o will_v be_v rich_a they_o fall_v into_o temptation_n &_o snare_n and_o into_o many_o foolish_a and_o noisome_a lust_n which_o drown_v man_n in_o perdition_n and_o destruction_n remember_v who_o it_o be_v that_o say_v all_o these_o will_v i_o give_v thou_o if_o thou_o will_v fall_v down_o and_o worship_v i_o he_o that_o make_v gold_n his_o god_n shall_v sure_o be_v beguile_v as_o destruction_n often_o follow_v the_o great_a desire_n of_o riches_n so_o godliness_n which_o be_v see_v in_o contentation_n be_v the_o high_a way_n unto_o salvation_n they_o that_o be_v discontent_a have_v many_o care_n and_o desire_n and_o trouble_n and_o vexation_n to_o hinder_v they_o from_o god_n and_o godliness_n of_o all_o which_o care_n trouble_n desire_n and_o vexation_n they_o be_v disburden_v which_o carry_v content_v mind_n and_o most_o free_a they_o be_v by_o that_o mean_n unto_o the_o service_n of_o god_n from_o thankfulness_n and_o a_o mind_n content_v proceed_v a_o good_a will_n love_n and_o a_o charitable_a desire_n yea_o and_o a_o fellow-féeling_a of_o the_o want_n deed_n charitable_a deed_n and_o necessity_n of_o other_o so_o far_o that_o it_o provoke_v we_o not_o only_o to_o pity_v they_o and_o their_o estate_n but_o also_o to_o help_v and_o relieve_v they_o to_o the_o uttermost_a of_o our_o power_n charge_v they_o that_o be_v scotfree_a say_v the_o apostle_n that_o they_o trust_v not_o in_o their_o uncertain_a riches_n but_o in_o the_o live_a god_n who_o give_v we_o abundant_o all_o thing_n to_o enjoy_v and_o yet_o his_o charge_n stretch_v further_a that_o be_v that_o they_o shall_v do_v good_a and_o be_v rich_a in_o good_a work_n and_o ready_a to_o distribute_v and_o communicate_v and_o give_v to_o other_o and_o this_o be_v the_o gain_n that_o bring_v godliness_n with_o it_o and_o this_o godliness_n have_v great_a gain_n for_o thereby_o we_o lie_v up_o in_o store_n a_o good_a foundation_n against_o the_o time_n to_o come_v and_o he_o that_o so_o lay_v out_o his_o good_n give_v they_o not_o to_o the_o poor_a but_o unto_o god._n and_o as_o god_n have_v give_v unto_o we_o so_o let_v they_o who_o god_n have_v commend_v unto_o we_o i_o mean_v the_o godly_a poor_a the_o fatherless_a the_o widow_n and_o the_o stranger_n be_v partaker_n with_o we_o of_o god_n blessing_n lest_o it_o may_v so_o fall_v out_o that_o we_o may_v say_v that_o god_n have_v oâ—â—en_v and_o god_n have_v take_v away_o and_o if_o there_o be_v any_o good_a work_n else_o as_o more_o there_o be_v than_o i_o can_v name_v even_o all_o the_o good_a work_n that_o be_v be_v we_o bind_v to_o perform_v if_o godliness_n be_v bind_v and_o find_v in_o our_o heart_n for_o good_a work_n be_v godliness_n and_o godliness_n desire_v to_o show_v itself_o in_o they_o and_o who_o be_v it_o not_o that_o knowâ—â—_n not_o what_o it_o be_v to_o live_v godly_a but_o who_o can_v say_v my_o knowledge_n be_v turn_v into_o practice_n my_o heart_n be_v turn_v to_o embrace_v godliness_n and_o to_o follow_v good_a way_n unless_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n have_v first_o thus_o wrought_v it_o and_o yet_o there_o be_v another_o kind_n of_o godliness_n more_o hard_a than_o all_o the_o former_a which_o be_v patient_o to_o suffer_v patience_n patience_n loss_n wrong_n injury_n persecution_n yea_o and_o death_n itself_o for_o the_o steadfast_a profession_n of_o god_n truth_n and_o his_o service_n as_o we_o read_v they_o that_o will_v live_v godly_a must_v suffer_v persecution_n for_o god_n do_v thereby_o try_v we_o and_o by_o little_a and_o little_o he_o do_v bring_v we_o to_o contemn_v the_o world_n and_o to_o desire_v heaven_n if_o thou_o have_v loss_n of_o good_n or_o friend_n or_o any_o other_o help_v take_v from_o thou_o godliness_n exhort_v to_o take_v it_o patient_o not_o grudge_o and_o to_o say_v as_o god_n have_v take_v so_o god_n may_v give_v and_o forgive_v i_o my_o sin_n and_o restore_v unto_o i_o again_o at_o pleasure_n if_o thy_o enemy_n have_v do_v thou_o injury_n and_o wrong_n say_v not_o with_o
