still_o though_o a_o decrepit_a infirm_a and_o lame_a one_o but_o when_o the_o disease_n come_v to_o be_v mortal_a leprous_a or_o incurable_a it_o be_v time_n then_o to_o cry_v out_o sum_n 4._o the_o last_o note_n from_o these_o word_n shall_v be_v that_o a_o mislead_v zeal_n be_v both_o dangerous_a and_o pernicious_a little_o do_v the_o jew_n think_v that_o they_o be_v fight_v against_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n when_o they_o be_v persecute_v and_o blaspheme_v the_o professor_n of_o christ_n nay_o they_o do_v it_o and_o think_v as_o paul_n in_o his_o ignorance_n that_o they_o do_v god_n good_a service_n in_o it_o if_o our_o zeal_n be_v not_o commix_v with_o sound_a knowledge_n instead_o of_o promote_a the_o glory_n of_o god_n we_o may_v do_v the_o downright_a work_n of_o satan_n these_o poor_a jew_n have_v a_o indubitable_a aim_n and_o zeal_n to_o glorify_v god_n for_o so_o paul_n bear_v testimony_n of_o they_o rom._n 10.2_o but_o it_o be_v exercise_v amiss_o in_o that_o it_o be_v not_o according_a unto_o knowledge_n if_o their_o judgement_n have_v be_v right_o inform_v or_o bear_v the_o least_o proportion_n with_o their_o zeal_n they_o will_v not_o persecute_v the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n from_o city_n to_o city_n and_o from_o town_n to_o town_n much_o less_o put_v the_o lord_n of_o life_n to_o death_n among_o they_o but_o the_o scripture_n must_v be_v fulfil_v use_v christian_n now_o adays_o shall_v look_v to_o it_o lest_o they_o go_v about_o to_o do_v the_o work_n of_o satan_n when_o they_o blaspheme_v and_o persecute_v all_o other_o that_o be_v different_o mind_v from_o they_o in_o some_o particular_n they_o may_v call_v themselves_o christian_n but_o be_v not_o for_o it_o savour_v not_o of_o a_o christian_n spirit_n which_o be_v ready_a to_o cover_v and_o heal_v the_o infirmity_n of_o his_o christian_n brother_n not_o to_o revile_v or_o cast_v a_o rancour_n on_o it_o to_o gangrene_n it_o which_o be_v the_o work_n of_o satan_n though_o i_o be_o not_o for_o the_o least_o toleration_n of_o evil_n or_o heresy_n in_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n yet_o i_o will_v have_v all_o to_o take_v heed_n how_o they_o blaspheme_v persecute_v or_o speak_v evil_a of_o that_o way_n or_o practice_v which_o have_v the_o visible_a stamp_n of_o christ_n upon_o it_o though_o at_o present_a by_o reason_n of_o some_o cloud_n of_o ignorance_n over_o they_o they_o can_v plain_o discern_v the_o truth_n of_o it_o in_o this_o case_n the_o counsel_n of_o gamaliel_n act_v 5._o be_v very_o seasonable_a refrain_v yourselves_o from_o these_o man_n and_o let_v they_o alone_o for_o if_o their_o work_n be_v of_o man_n it_o will_v sure_o come_v to_o nought_o but_o if_o it_o be_v of_o god_n you_o can_v destroy_v it_o lest_o you_o be_v second_o god_n see_v or_o judge_v not_o as_o man_n judge_v we_o see_v nothing_o public_o lay_v to_o the_o charge_n of_o the_o church_n of_o smyrna_n but_o be_v set_v forth_o as_o one_o of_o the_o most_o eminent_a and_o fair_o of_o the_o seven_o sister_n church_n both_o for_o faith_n piety_n and_o suffering_n and_o worthy_o too_o she_o do_v deserve_v it_o in_o the_o eye_n of_o all_o yet_o god_n can_v foresee_v that_o she_o will_v turn_v wanton_a and_o prodigal_a as_o well_o as_o the_o rest_n and_o that_o she_o have_v the_o same_o heart_n of_o corruption_n within_o as_o the_o other_o have_v and_o therefore_o have_v need_n of_o the_o rod_n of_o correction_n to_o keep_v she_o close_o to_o christ_n and_o this_o in_o few_o age_n do_v appear_v by_o their_o iniquity_n whereby_o their_o candlestick_n be_v remove_v from_o among_o they_o three_o when_o god_n chastise_n and_o afflict_v his_o child_n it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v look_v upon_o as_o a_o act_n of_o justice_n but_o of_o grace_n to_o you_o it_o be_v give_v to_o suffer_v say_v paul_n to_o the_o philippian_n 1.29_o it_o be_v a_o act_n of_o honour_n and_o service_n when_o we_o be_v single_v out_o to_o be_v martyr_n for_o the_o his_o child_n into_o divers_a tribulation_n last_o god_n do_v afflict_v his_o best_a child_n to_o try_v they_o the_o ordinary_a stroke_n of_o god_n providence_n as_o loss_n cross_n sickness_n and_o
