lord_n to_o nicodemus_n except_o a_o man_n be_v bear_v again_o k_o he_o can_v inherit_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n there_o lie_v a_o impossibility_n in_o this_o thing_n he_o place_v not_o goat_n remain_v such_o in_o their_o state_n in_o the_o same_o place_n with_o sheep_n there_o be_v a_o great_a gulf_n between_o these_o two_o they_o be_v of_o two_o contrary_a nature_n two_o opposite_a state_n and_o kingdom_n prepare_v for_o they_o therefore_o without_o be_v change_v without_o be_v in_o your_o mind_n renew_v translate_v out_o of_o darkness_n into_o sight_n without_o die_v to_o the_o method_n maintain_v their_o principle_n of_o satisfaction_n and_o imputation_n oppose_v the_o light_n and_o work_v of_o christ_n or_o the_o spirit_n within_o as_o to_o justification_n redemption_n or_o salvation_n within_o let_v we_o first_o inquire_v how_o he_o state_v this_o satisfaction_n or_o work_v that_o he_o think_v be_v wrought_v with_o god_n by_o the_o man_n christ_n but_o not_o in_o man_n r._n g._n god_n say_v to_o adam_n in_o the_o day_n thou_o eat_v thereof_o thou_o shall_v die_v and_o because_o he_o be_v god_n it_o can_v not_o be_v revoke_v the_o justice_n of_o god_n must_v stand_v firm_a in_o the_o execution_n of_o this_o sentence_n he_o be_v just_a and_o righteous_a as_o well_o as_o l●ving_v justice_n to_o be_v answer_v to_o the_o full_a who_o can_v break_v through_o blasphemous_a oppose_v the_o omnipotency_n and_o power_n of_o god_n as_o if_o he_o can_v not_o satisfy_v himself_o in_o either_o and_o his_o slight_n and_o debase_v the_o divine_a light_n and_o power_n of_o christ_n in_o man_n and_o so_o undervalue_v god_n as_o if_o he_o be_v no_o saviour_n especial_o while_o this_o man_n think_v god_n be_v so_o displease_v and_o his_o wrath_n so_o stir_v up_o that_o it_o will_v hold_v man_n captive_a in_o death_n unless_o christ_n as_o the_o son_n of_o mary_n shall_v satisfy_v and_o answer_v this_o wrath_n and_o undergo_v this_o death_n another_o while_n in_o contradiction_n it_o be_v as_o god_n man_n that_o he_o satisfy_v etc._n etc._n which_o if_o he_o take_v it_o to_o be_v a_o eternal_a death_n or_o wrath_n that_o be_v threaten_v on_o man_n for_o disobedience_n i_o ask_v if_o christ_n do_v undergo_v that_o either_o as_o god_n or_o as_o man_n or_o as_o both_o and_o dare_v any_o say_v plain_o that_o god_n execute_v wrath_n and_o revenge_n from_o himself_o upon_o his_o innocent_a son_n or_o take_v vengeance_n upon_o the_o son_n of_o his_o love_n or_o can_v that_o be_v a_o answer_v of_o divine_a justice_n so_o to_o take_v vengeance_n it_o all_o and_o that_o for_o all_o man_n for_o sin_n past_a present_a and_o to_o come_v and_o then_o what_o manifest_a contradiction_n be_v it_o for_o this_o man_n to_o confess_v to_o his_o intercession_n his_o ever_o live_v to_o make_v intercession_n for_o they_o that_o come_v to_o god_n by_o he_o though_o this_o we_o own_v but_o how_o do_v this_o agree_v with_o the_o doctrine_n of_o such_o a_o rigid_a or_o severe_a satisfaction_n and_o payment_n as_o before_o imply_v for_o if_o the_o son_n endure_v the_o father_n wrath_n to_o the_o full_a and_o thereby_o stop●_n it_o for_o priest_n call_v it_o vindictive_a justice_n do_v not_o this_o ●ender_a god_n to_o be_v more_o severe_a than_o his_o son_n yea_o and_o unjust_a also_o as_o if_o a_o creditor_n shall_v keep_v or_o leave_v the_o debtor_n in_o prison_n and_o always_o be_v intercede_v to_o either_o for_o his_o deliverance_n or_o forgiveness_n when_o his_o surety_n have_v pay_v and_o satisfy_v to_o the_o utmost_a blot_v out_o and_o that_o he_o may_v be_v under_o god_n term_n and_o under_o a_o obligation_n to_o believe_v obey_v and_o follow_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n within_o in_o its_o inward_a operation_n and_o teach_n then_o this_o confute_v this_o man_n and_o all_o such_o carnal_a professor_n for_o all_o be_v not_o do_v without_o nor●_n man_n absolve_v or_o discharge_v in_o the_o court_n of_o heaven_n as_o priest_n use_v to_o say_v either_o from_o the_o guilt_n or_o punishment_n of_o sin_n past_a present_a and_o to_o come_v see_v that_o all_o judgement_n be_v commit_v to_o the_o son_n and_o man_n be_v not_o acquit_v by_o his_o suffering_n without_o either_o from_o the_o obligation_n or_o obedience_n of_o his_o law_n within_o which_o be_v that_o of_o the_o spirit_n or_o new_a there_o be_v no_o saviour_n and_o in_o his_o mercy_n and_o love_n to_o lose_a man_n in_o general_a he_o both_o promise_v and_o give_v a_o seed_n to_o bruise_v the_o serpent_n head_n and_o to_o be_v a_o ransom_n atonement_n and_o most_o acceptable_a and_o satisfactory_a sacrifice_n as_o a_o lamb_n without_o spot_n to_o god_n not_o as_o the_o subject_n of_o wrath_n or_o vindictive_a justice_n but_o as_o a_o sweet_a smell_a sacrifice_n to_o god_n and_o propitiation_n for_o mankind_n and_o to_o be_v a_o live_a example_n through_o all_o not_o only_o to_o end_v the_o law_n and_o sacrifice_n without_o but_o also_o to_o bring_v the_o true_a believer_n through_o and_o beyond_o the_o ministration_n of_o death_n condemnation_n and_o wrath_n within_o into_o peace_n and_o union_n with_o g●d_n who_o out_o of_o his_o infinite_a love_n send_v his_o son_n to_o save_v man_n from_o sin_n and_o
