to_o wet_v the_o stone_n to_o fall_v the_o sun_n to_o shine_v sin_n to_o defile_v etc._n etc._n thus_o i_o say_v the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n tend_v to_o life_n the_o nature_n of_o it_o be_v to_o put_v the_o soul_n upon_o fear_v of_o god_n of_o close_v with_o christ_n and_o of_o walk_v humble_o before_o he_o it_o be_v a_o fountain_n of_o life_n to_o depart_v from_o the_o snare_n of_o death_n his_o own_o good_a there_o lie_v even_o in_o many_o natural_a thing_n that_o into_o which_o if_o we_o be_v instruct_v will_v yield_v we_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o help_n to_o the_o understanding_n of_o spiritual_a matter_n for_o in_o wisdom_n have_v god_n make_v all_o the_o world_n nor_o be_v there_o any_o thing_n that_o god_n have_v make_v whether_o in_o heaven_n above_o or_o on_o earth_n beneath_o but_o there_o be_v couch_v some_o spiritual_a mystery_n in_o it_o the_o which_o man_n matter_n more_o than_o they_o do_v the_o ground_n they_o tread_v on_o or_o than_o the_o stone_n that_o be_v under_o their_o foot_n and_o all_o because_o they_o have_v not_o this_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o have_v they_o that_o that_o will_v teach_v they_o to_o think_v even_o from_o that_o knowledge_n of_o god_n that_o have_v by_o the_o fear_n of_o he_o put_v into_o their_o heart_n that_o he_o be_v so_o great_a and_o so_o good_a there_o must_v needs_o be_v abundance_n of_o wisdom_n in_o the_o thing_n he_o have_v make_v that_o fear_n will_v also_o endeavour_v to_o find_v out_o what_o that_o wisdom_n be_v yea_o and_o give_v to_o the_o soul_n the_o instruction_n of_o it_o in_o that_o it_o be_v call_v the_o instruction_n of_o wisdom_n it_o intimate_v to_o we_o that_o its_o tendency_n be_v to_o keep_v all_o even_a and_o in_o good_a order_n in_o the_o soul._n when_o job_n perceive_v that_o his_o friend_n do_v not_o deal_v with_o he_o in_o a_o even_a spirit_n and_o orderly_a manner_n he_o say_v that_o they_o forsake_v the_o fear_n of_o the_o almighty_a job_n 6.14_o for_o this_o fear_n keep_v a_o man_n even_o in_o his_o word_n and_o judgement_n of_o thing_n it_o may_v be_v compare_v to_o the_o ballast_n of_o the_o ship_n and_o to_o the_o boy_n of_o the_o balance_n of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n it_o flow_v from_o the_o distinguish_a love_n of_o god_n to_o his_o elect_a i_o will_v be_v their_o god_n say_v he_o and_o i_o will_v put_v my_o fear_n in_o their_o heart_n none_o be_v persuade_v therefore_o to_o hope_n in_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n for_o salvation_n for_o the_o lord_n take_v pleasure_n in_o thou_o and_o it_o delight_v he_o to_o see_v thou_o hope_v in_o his_o mercy_n twelve_o there_o flow_v from_o this_o godly_a fear_n of_o god_n a_o honest_a and_o conscientious_a use_n of_o all_o those_o mean_n which_o god_n have_v ordain_v that_o we_o shall_v be_v conversant_a in_o for_o our_o attain_n salvation_n faith_n and_o hope_n in_o god_n mercy_n be_v that_o which_o secure_v our_o justification_n and_o hope_n and_o as_o you_o have_v hear_v they_o do_v heart_n into_o the_o love_n both_o of_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o grace_n itself_o and_o also_o of_o the_o fruit_n it_o yield_v for_o a_o man_n hardly_o grow_v in_o the_o increase_n of_o any_o grace_n until_o his_o heart_n be_v unite_v to_o it_o and_o until_o it_o be_v make_v lovely_a in_o his_o eye_n psal._n 119.119_o 120._o now_o the_o excellency_n of_o this_o grace_n of_o fear_n have_v also_o be_v discourse_v of_o in_o this_o book_n before_o where_o by_o read_v thou_o shall_v find_v the_o fruit_n it_o bear_v and_o the_o promise_n that_o be_v annex_v to_o it_o which_o because_o they_o be_v many_o i_o refer_v thou_o also_o thither_o for_o thy_o instruction_n eleven_o will_v thou_o grow_v in_o this_o grace_n of_o fear_n then_o remember_v what_o a_o world_n of_o privilege_n do_v belong_v to_o they_o that_o fear_v the_o lord_n as_o also_o i_o have_v hint_v namely_o that_o such_o shall_v not_o be_v hurt_v shall_v want_v no_o good_a thing_n shall_v be_v guard_v by_o angel_n and_o have_v a_o special_a licence_n though_o in_o never_o so_o dreadful_a plight_n to_o trust_v in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o stay_v upon_o their_o god_n 12._o will_v thou_o grow_v in_o this_o grace_n of_o fear_n then_o be_v much_o in_o prayer_n to_o god_n for_o abundance_n of_o the_o increase_n thereof_o to_o fear_v god_n be_v that_o which_o be_v according_a to_o his_o will_n and_o if_o we_o ask_v any_o thing_n according_a to_o his_o will_n he_o hear_v we_o pray_v therefore_o that_o god_n will_v unite_v thy_o heart_n to_o fear_v his_o name_n this_o be_v the_o way_n to_o grow_v in_o the_o grace_n of_o fear_n last_o will_v thou_o grow_v in_o this_o grace_n of_o fear_n then_o devote_v thyself_o to_o it_o psal._n 119.38_o devote_v myself_o to_o it_o you_o will_v say_v how_o be_v that_o i_o answer_v why_o give_v thyself_o to_o it_o addict_v thyself_o to_o it_o solace_n thyself_o in_o the_o contemplation_n of_o god_n and_o of_o a_o reverence_n of_o his_o name_n and_o word_n and_o worship_n then_o will_v thou_o fear_v and_o grow_v in_o this_o grace_n of_o fear_n what_o thing_n they_o be_v that_o have_v a_o tendency_n in_o they_o to_o hinder_v the_o growth_n of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n in_o our_o heart_n and_o that_o i_o may_v yet_o be_v helpful_a to_o thou_o reader_n i_o shall_v now_o give_v thou_o caution_n of_o those_o thing_n that_o will_v if_o way_n be_v give_v to_o they_o hinder_v thy_o growth_n in_o this_o fear_n of_o god_n the_o which_o because_o they_o be_v very_o hurtful_a to_o the_o people_n of_o
