bread_n of_o carefulness_n but_o scarce_o any_o man_n count_v it_o a_o necessity_n to_o attend_v at_o the_o gate_n of_o wisdom_n to_o seek_v after_o knowledge_n to_o call_v and_o cry_v for_o understanding_n without_o which_o every_o man_n must_v perish_v for_o evermore_o learn_v we_o then_o before_o it_o be_v too_o late_a to_o put_v a_o high_a price_n upon_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o gospel_n then_o shall_v the_o mystery_n be_v open_v to_o we_o which_o be_v lock_v up_o and_o hide_v from_o the_o wicked_a despiser_n thereof_o which_o thing_n we_o can_v never_o do_v unless_o we_o feel_v our_o need_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o the_o infinite_a worth_n that_o there_o be_v in_o it_o to_o serve_v our_o necessity_n let_v we_o therefore_o learn_v to_o behold_v the_o evil_a scent_n free_o give_v the_o milk_n of_o the_o gospel_n without_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n thy_o mother_n give_v nothing_o without_o but_o for_o the_o observance_n of_o the_o law_n now_o because_o she_o gender_v child_n by_o the_o law_n therefore_o thou_o be_v not_o without_o but_o under_o the_o law_n if_o i_o can_v find_v thou_o without_o that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o law_n or_o thy_o own_o opinion_n of_o righteousness_n by_o the_o law_n then_o will_v i_o kiss_v thou_o which_o mean_v with_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o because_o thou_o depende_v upon_o the_o law_n thou_o therefore_o our_o own_o work_n and_o righteousness_n for_o mark_v it_o if_o i_o shall_v find_v thou_o without_o than_o will_v i_o kiss_v thou_o as_o much_o as_o to_o say_v then_o will_v i_o upon_o this_o only_a condition_n administer_v the_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o gospel_n unto_o thou_o nothing_o can_v be_v more_o clear_a to_o settle_v we_o in_o the_o ground_n of_o our_o faith_n than_o what_o be_v here_o christ_n which_o be_v spice_a and_o perfume_v with_o the_o merit_n of_o his_o godhead_n preserve_v the_o conscience_n from_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o the_o fear_n of_o eternal_a death_n this_o i_o will_v cause_v thou_o to_o drink_v of_o even_o by_o a_o holy_a kind_n of_o violence_n and_o compulsion_n that_o thou_o shall_v not_o forgo_v it_o which_o she_o call_v here_o the_o juice_n of_o pomegranate_n because_o it_o be_v free_o bestow_v upon_o the_o church_n by_o christ_n himself_o she_o also_o free_o give_v it_o to_o all_o that_o be_v willing_a to_o receive_v it_o this_o show_v we_o what_o kindness_n those_o that_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o faith_n aught_o to_o show_v towards_o those_o poor_a wretch_n that_o be_v new_o come_v on_o even_o to_o take_v they_o as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o hand_n and_o bring_v they_o into_o their_o mother_n house_n to_o bring_v they_o acquaint_v with_o the_o spiritual_a people_n that_o they_o may_v be_v well_o instruct_v in_o the_o gospel_n even_o to_o those_o that_o be_v fill_v with_o spice_a wine_n that_o have_v store_n of_o the_o juice_n of_o the_o pomegranate_n that_o be_v able_a by_o divine_a argument_n and_o by_o a_o holy_a kind_n of_o violence_n to_o fasten_v the_o word_n of_o eternal_a life_n upon_o they_o all_o man_n must_v be_v willing_a and_o no_o man_n must_v think_v himself_o too_o great_a or_o too_o good_a to_o stoop_v to_o help_v poor_a deject_a creature_n this_o way_n most_o man_n will_v be_v willing_a to_o discourse_v with_o those_o that_o be_v able_a and_o great_a in_o the_o church_n that_o have_v least_o need_n of_o help_n but_o what_o shall_v be_v come_v of_o poor_a silly_a creature_n that_o be_v ignorant_a why_o shall_v not_o poor_a people_n when_o they_o be_v find_v without_o and_o much_o distress_v in_o consideration_n of_o their_o own_o barrenness_n and_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o cross_n and_o great_a tribulation_n be_v salute_v with_o the_o kiss_n of_o the_o gospel_n see_v it_o have_v be_v and_o be_v the_o practice_n of_o the_o godly_a rather_o then_o those_o that_o be_v better_a able_a to_o help_v themselves_o the_o want_n of_o this_o thing_n show_v that_o there_o be_v but_o a_o very_a few_o that_o do_v live_v in_o the_o right_a practice_n of_o piety_n verse_n iii_o his_o left_a hand_n shall_v be_v under_o my_o head_n and_o his_o right_a hand_n shall_v embrace_v i_o these_o word_n seem_v to_o prevent_v a_o objection_n that_o may_v be_v make_v by_o a_o conscience_n in_o distress_n for_o when_o once_o a_o man_n feel_v himself_o under_o the_o curse_n and_o in_o great_a tribulation_n he_o begin_v to_o be_v afraid_a and_o to_o cry_v out_o for_o help_n what_o shall_v i_o do_v to_o this_o the_o church_n answer_v here_o after_o the_o manner_n of_o a_o lover_n his_o left_a hand_n shall_v be_v under_o my_o head_n mean_v his_o humanity_n and_o his_o right_a hand_n shall_v embrace_v i_o mean_v his_o divinity_n she_o speak_v in_o the_o first_o person_n but_o the_o whole_a company_n of_o believer_n be_v include_v be_v all_o one_o body_n by_o faith_n the_o church_n teach_v this_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a art_n how_o to_o unlade_v the_o conscience_n of_o sin_n burden_n care_n and_o calamity_n upon_o the_o humanity_n of_o christ_n who_o nail_v they_o all_o to_o his_o cross_n and_o bury_v they_o in_o his_o grave_n and_o how_o to_o receive_v the_o embrace_n of_o christ_n from_o his_o divinity_n whereby_o he_o conquer_v all_o the_o enemy_n of_o man_n after_o the_o same_o manner_n must_v we_o also_o learn_v and_o teach_v other_o even_o when_o the_o conscience_n be_v in_o distress_n to_o unlade_v it_o by_o faith_n upon_o christ_n humanity_n and_o when_o we_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o any_o help_n or_o succour_n then_o by_o faith_n to_o receive_v it_o from_o the_o divinity_n then_o shall_v we_o by_o the_o blessing_n of_o his_o left_a hand_n be_v ease_v of_o our_o burden_n and_o sorrow_n and_o by_o the_o blessing_n of_o his_o right_a hand_n shall_v have_v a_o supply_n of_o all_o our_o want_n from_o he_o verse_n iu._n i_o charge_v you_o o_o you_o daughter_n of_o jerusalem_n that_o you_o stir_v not_o up_o nor_o awake_v my_o love_n until_o he_o please_v with_o the_o word_n of_o god_n against_o all_o enemy_n at_o once_o she_o set_v the_o gospel_n against_o all_o opposition_n therefore_o christ_n say_v here_o who_o be_v this_o she_o have_v not_o only_a enemy_n without_o but_o also_o within_o she_o have_v the_o world_n the_o flesh_n and_o the_o devil_n yet_o with_o one_o weapon_n she_o over-comes_a they_o all_o and_o that_o be_v faith_n in_o her_o belove_a which_o consideration_n must_v wonderful_o comfort_v all_o those_o poor_a wretch_n which_o be_v much_o afflict_v by_o man_n that_o be_v despise_v and_o reject_v of_o the_o world_n who_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o blemish_n and_o stain_n or_o poverty_n or_o any_o outward_a calamity_n which_o thing_n be_v common_a in_o the_o wilderness_n be_v despise_v and_o reproach_v and_o even_o utter_o which_o must_v encourage_v every_o man_n to_o submit_v himself_o to_o his_o heavenly_a father_n if_o he_o please_v to_o exercise_v he_o in_o such_o a_o condition_n this_o course_n must_v we_o also_o take_v when_o the_o conscience_n accuse_v we_o the_o law_n threaten_v and_o we_o can_v apprehend_v nothing_o but_o death_n eternal_a even_o than_o must_v we_o fall_v down_o before_o he_o confess_v principal_a care_n to_o comfort_v their_o little_a sister_n in_o the_o day_n of_o her_o distress_n when_o she_o be_v afflict_v with_o her_o sin_n and_o feel_v her_o condemnation_n by_o the_o law_n and_o be_v much_o break_v and_o distress_a by_o reason_n of_o great_a tribulation_n and_o by_o these_o thing_n be_v speak_v for_o by_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n that_o she_o may_v be_v match_v to_o himself_o instead_o of_o make_v it_o the_o principal_a care_n to_o give_v she_o in_o marriage_n to_o the_o son_n of_o god_n by_o faith_n alone_o they_o endeavour_v with_o great_a earnestness_n to_o present_v she_o to_o christ_n by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n instead_o of_o dissolve_v the_o compound_n and_o make_v void_a the_o covenant_n that_o be_v make_v with_o man_n at_o first_o and_o match_v the_o soul_n to_o christ_n in_o a_o everlasting_a covenant_n that_o the_o guilt_n of_o her_o sin_n may_v be_v remove_v and_o that_o she_o may_v be_v justify_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n they_o endeavour_v in_o the_o first_o place_n as_o the_o only_a thing_n needful_a to_o solemnize_v the_o contract_n between_o her_o conscience_n and_o the_o law_n which_o be_v according_a to_o st._n misery_n then_o to_o become_v instrumental_a to_o marry_v she_o to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n by_o faith_n alone_o now_o that_o the_o match_n may_v be_v make_v and_o that_o she_o may_v be_v wed_v to_o the_o son_n of_o god_n she_o must_v acknowledge_v her_o death_n by_o the_o law_n and_o ask_v forgiveness_n for_o her_o sin_n with_o a_o believe_a heart_n 7._o rom._n 7._o then_o be_v she_o free_a
