sinner_n be_v not_o change_v by_o mercy_n nor_o affright_v by_o threat_n but_o as_o the_o leviathan_n in_o job_n laugh_v at_o the_o shake_n of_o the_o spear_n so_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o presumptuous_a sinner_n puff_v at_o all_o divine_a warning_n and_o menace_n come_v say_v they_o let_v it_o come_v that_o we_o may_v see_v he_o as_o there_o be_v not_o a_o love_n to_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n so_o there_o be_v not_o a_o fear_n of_o the_o greatness_n of_o god_n in_o presumption_n 4._o presumptuous_a sin_n do_v arise_v from_o a_o false_a confidence_n there_o be_v two_o mercy_n they_o arise_v from_o a_o false_a confidence_n of_o the_o facility_n of_o mercy_n thing_n upon_o which_o the_o presume_a sinner_n do_v embolden_v himself_o 1._o one_o be_v the_o facility_n of_o mercy_n when_o a_o man_n set_v mercy_n against_o sin_n he_o do_v well_o because_o god_n mercy_n shall_v draw_v our_o heart_n off_o from_o sin_n but_o when_o a_o man_n set_v mercy_n against_o justice_n now_o he_o offend_v yet_o thus_o do_v the_o presumptuous_a sinner_n perhaps_o there_o be_v not_o in_o every_o presumptuous_a sinner_n such_o a_o spirit_n of_o atheistical_a madness_n that_o he_o be_v add_v drunkenness_n to_o thirst_n etc._n etc._n belove_a this_o be_v certain_a that_o presumption_n dispose_v of_o mercy_n beyond_o all_o allowance_n and_o write_v a_o pardon_n which_o god_n will_v return_v and_o humble_v soul_n here_o it_o be_v that_o this_o presumptuous_a person_n will_v adventure_v to_o sin_n upon_o a_o confidence_n that_o he_o will_v notwithstanding_o all_o this_o fashion_n and_o polish_v his_o soul_n to_o a_o meet_a capacity_n of_o mercy_n by_o hereafter_o repenting_n and_o humbling_n he_o do_v foolish_o delude_v his_o soul_n with_o a_o fancy_n of_o such_o thing_n must_v be_v able_a to_o win_v the_o heart_n to_o dispose_v of_o love_n and_o hatred_n for_o dominion_n be_v make_v or_o mar_v by_o one_o of_o they_o 4._o again_o it_o must_v be_v something_o which_o may_v breed_v a_o stiff_a and_o courageous_a resolution_n that_o the_o heart_n will_v not_o serve_v sin_n but_o will_v go_v free_a and_o hereupon_o against_o all_o inward_a and_o outward_a
