live_v concern_v public_a solemn_a fast_v when_o some_o great_a and_o notable_a judgement_n be_v either_o inflict_v upon_o a_o people_n or_o apparent_o imminent_a or_o by_o some_o extraordinary_a provocation_n notorious_o deserve_v as_o also_o when_o some_o special_a blessing_n be_v to_o be_v seek_v and_o obtain_v public_a solemn_a fast_n which_o be_v to_o continue_v the_o whole_a day_n be_v a_o duty_n that_o god_n expect_v from_o that_o nation_n or_o people_n a_o religious_a fast_o require_v total_a abstinence_n not_o only_o from_o all_o food_n unless_o bodily_a weakness_n do_v other_o vanity_n of_o either_o sex_n which_o we_o recommend_v to_o all_o minister_n in_o their_o place_n diligent_o &_o zealous_o to_o reproove_v as_o at_o other_o time_n so_o especial_o at_o a_o fast_a without_o respect_n of_o person_n as_o there_o shall_v be_v occasion_n before_o the_o public_a meeting_n each_o family_n and_o person_n apart_o be_v private_o to_o use_v all_o religious_a care_n to_o prepare_v their_o heart_n to_o such_o a_o solemn_a work_n and_o to_o be_v early_o at_o the_o congregation_n so_o large_a a_o portion_n of_o the_o day_n as_o convenient_o may_v be_v be_v to_o be_v spend_v in_o public_a read_n and_o preach_v of_o the_o word_n with_o sing_v of_o psalm_n fit_a to_o quicken_v affection_n suitable_a to_o such_o a_o duty_n but_o especial_o in_o prayer_n to_o this_o or_o the_o like_a effect_n give_v glory_n to_o the_o great_a majesty_n of_o god_n the_o creator_n preserver_n and_o supreme_a ruler_n of_o all_o the_o world_n the_o better_a to_o affect_v we_o thereby_o with_o a_o holy_a reverence_n and_o awe_n of_o he_o acknowledge_v his_o manifold_a great_a and_o tender_a mercy_n especial_o to_o the_o church_n and_o nation_n the_o more_o effectual_o
