mercy_n they_o will_v grant_v that_o all_o these_o indeed_o be_v good_a thing_n but_o they_o belong_v not_o to_o they_o for_o they_o neither_o do_v nor_o can_v feel_v any_o thing_n but_o the_o token_n of_o god_n anger_n and_o that_o they_o be_v already_o enter_v into_o some_o degree_n of_o condemnation_n this_o objection_n may_v be_v take_v away_o by_o inform_v they_o of_o the_o manner_n of_o god_n any_o divide_n of_o the_o soul_n for_o it_o can_v be_v divide_v neither_o by_o diminish_v the_o part_n of_o the_o soul_n but_o only_o by_o corrupt_v the_o action_n of_o the_o mind_n or_o more_o proper_o by_o corrupt_v the_o next_o instrument_n of_o the_o mind_n this_o may_v be_v conceive_v by_o a_o comparison_n a_o skilful_a artificer_n in_o any_o science_n have_v a_o unfit_a tool_n and_o a_o naughty_a instrument_n to_o work_v withal_o his_o skill_n be_v good_a and_o his_o ability_n be_v sufficient_a but_o his_o instrument_n whereby_o he_o work_v be_v unperfect_a and_o therefore_o he_o bring_v forth_o a_o imperfect_a work_n now_o his_o tool_n take_v not_o away_o the_o skill_n of_o his_o workmanship_n nor_o his_o power_n of_o work_v but_o keep_v he_o from_o do_v that_o well_o which_o cause_v the_o trouble_n of_o the_o mind_n two_o way_n either_o by_o melancholy_n or_o by_o other_o strange_a alteration_n in_o the_o part_n of_o the_o body_n which_o oftentimes_o befall_v man_n in_o what_o sort_n we_o shall_v see_v afterward_o for_o it_o be_v a_o very_a common_a thing_n yea_o more_o common_a than_o the_o former_a touch_v melancholy_a sundry_a thing_n be_v to_o be_v consider_v for_o our_o instruction_n and_o for_o the_o remedy_n of_o that_o evil_n and_o first_o of_o all_o if_o it_o be_v ask_v what_o melancholy_n be_v i_o answer_v it_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o earthy_a &_o special_o by_o his_o contagious_a quality_n annoy_v both_o heart_n and_o brain_n be_v the_o seat_n &_o instrument_n of_o reason_n the_o second_o be_v what_o be_v the_o effect_n and_o operation_n of_o melancholy_a ans._n they_o be_v strange_a and_o often_o fearful_a there_o be_v no_o humour_n yea_o nothing_o in_o man_n body_n that_o have_v so_o strange_a effect_n as_o this_o humour_n have_v be_v once_o distemper_v a_o ancient_a divine_a call_v it_o the_o devil_n bait_n because_o the_o devil_n by_o god_n just_a permission_n diâ—boâ—â—_n convey_v himself_o into_o this_o humour_n and_o work_v strange_a conceit_n when_o the_o evil_a spirit_n come_v upon_o saul_n it_o so_o tempt_v he_o that_o he_o will_v have_v slay_v he_o that_o be_v next_o unto_o he_o how_o so_o sure_o because_o god_n in_o
