they_o may_v be_v secure_v by_o this_o mean_n against_o the_o tempt_a imposture_n and_o learn_v that_o meekness_n and_o patience_n affability_n and_o charity_n justice_n and_o a_o peaceable_a humble_a temper_n be_v better_a argument_n of_o saintship_n than_o all_o these_o thus_o a_o great_a mischief_n may_v be_v prevent_v and_o there_o be_v another_o that_o may_v be_v remedy_v by_o the_o same_o vi_o we_o see_v how_o we_o may_v know_v our_o state_n whether_o it_o be_v that_o of_o grace_n and_o life_n or_o the_o other_o sad_a one_o of_o vnregeneracy_n and_o death_n the_o state_n of_o grace_n be_v a_o motion_n towards_o the_o recovery_n of_o the_o divine_a image_n and_o a_o perfect_a victory_n over_o ourselves_o and_o all_o corrupt_a inclination_n and_o affection_n the_o state_n of_o vnregeneracy_n and_o death_n be_v the_o continuance_n under_o the_o power_n and_o prevalency_n of_o sense_n passion_n and_o evil_a habit_n now_o when_o it_o be_v question_v by_o ourselves_o in_o which_o of_o these_o state_n we_o be_v it_o must_v be_v suppose_v that_o we_o be_v arrive_v at_o something_o of_o religion_n for_o the_o gross_o wicked_a can_v but_o know_v what_o their_o condition_n be_v and_o the_o way_n i_o will_v propose_v to_o those_o other_o who_o be_v yet_o uncertain_a be_v this_o viz._n to_o take_v notice_n whether_o they_o real_o design_n and_o make_v any_o progress_n in_o goodness_n every_o motion_n indeed_o can_v be_v feel_v or_o perceive_v but_o if_o we_o go_v on_o though_o never_o so_o insensible_o time_n will_v show_v that_o we_o be_v grow_v if_o we_o consider_v what_o be_v our_o particular_a defect_n and_o studious_o apply_v proper_a instrument_n to_o remove_v they_o if_o we_o find_v success_n in_o those_o endeavour_n and_o that_o we_o be_v
