or_o from_o a_o tenderness_n of_o conscience_n there_o must_v be_v great_a care_n take_v to_o instruct_v well_o and_o encourage_v those_o fearful_a poor_a soul_n infine_v if_o they_o proceed_v from_o a_o melancholy_a humour_n or_o from_o a_o weak_a brain_n there_o can_v be_v no_o other_o remedy_n in_o those_o case_n but_o to_o induce_v they_o to_o docility_n obedience_n and_o resignation_n for_o not_o to_o those_o that_o be_v scrupulous_a to_o judge_v whether_o they_o be_v so_o or_o not_o for_o they_o themselves_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o that_o but_o aught_o to_o rely_v upon_o the_o judgement_n of_o their_o director_n second_o that_o these_o rule_n concern_v only_o such_o as_o be_v true_o and_o real_o scrupulous_a and_o not_o such_o as_o be_v persecute_v by_o the_o remorse_n of_o their_o own_o conscience_n will_v have_v that_o pass_v for_o scruple_n which_o in_o itself_o be_v a_o well_o ground_v and_o very_o just_a fear_n without_o consult_v any_o but_o their_o own_o passion_n nor_o for_o those_o extravagant_a scrupulous_a person_n who_o make_v monster_n of_o trifle_n whilst_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n they_o neglect_v the_o performance_n of_o their_o most_o essential_a duty_n like_o the_o pharisee_n of_o who_o our_o saviour_n say_v that_o they_o pay_v most_o exact_o the_o tithe_n of_o their_o mint_n their_o aniseed_n and_o cummin_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n neglect_v what_o be_v of_o great_a moment_n and_o weight_n in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n as_o justice_n mercy_n and_o faith_n that_o they_o take_v great_a care_n to_o strain_v what_o ever_o they_o drink_v for_o fear_v of_o swallow_v a_o fly_n and_o yet_o make_v no_o difficulty_n or_o scruple_n of_o swallow_v a_o camel_n several_a motive_n which_o may_v be_v of_o great_a use_n and_o help_v to_o scrupulous_a person_n in_o order_n to_o animate_v and_o increase_v their_o confidence_n in_o god_n and_o to_o appease_v all_o their_o anxiety_n and_o trouble_n the_o great_a misfortune_n of_o scrupulous_a person_n and_o the_o chief_a source_n of_o all_o their_o pain_n be_v the_o want_n of_o have_v a_o true_a idea_n of_o almighty_a god_n through_o the_o fear_n they_o be_v in_o they_o represent_v he_o to_o themselves_o as_o a_o revengeful_a god_n always_o angry_a that_o never_o lay_v down_o his_o thunderbolt_n but_o be_v always_o ready_a to_o destroy_v all_o such_o as_o offend_v he_o and_o as_o a_o severe_a judge_n that_o examine_v all_o with_o the_o great_a rigour_n imaginable_a in_o order_n to_o find_v out_o matter_n sufficient_a to_o condemn_v and_o punish_v the_o sinner_n as_o a_o jealous_a tyrant_n that_o mistrust_v every_o body_n and_o resolve_v to_o secure_v himself_o by_o the_o ruin_n of_o those_o he_o suspect_v as_o a_o crafty_a enemy_n that_o be_v always_o
