nature_n of_o grace_n god_n have_v leave_v the_o canaanite_n in_o we_o to_o exercise_v we_o to_o humble_v we_o that_o we_o may_v have_v a_o enemy_n to_o fight_v against_o before_o we_o wear_v the_o crown_n of_o glory_n and_o that_o we_o may_v have_v a_o pattern_n of_o our_o corruption_n to_o humble_v we_o as_o the_o valley_n before_o we_o receive_v his_o shower_n of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n from_o those_o hill_n from_o whence_o come_v our_o salvation_n what_o remain_v but_o that_o we_o fight_v like_o man_n for_o the_o kill_n of_o that_o old_a man_n which_o fight_v to_o kill_v we_o while_o we_o stand_v let_v we_o stand_v in_o humility_n take_v heed_n lest_o we_o fall_v and_o this_o humility_n which_o make_v we_o take_v heed_n lest_o we_o fall_v will_v best_o keep_v we_o from_o be_v light_n the_o other_o heat_n let_v the_o heat_n of_o nature_n make_v a_o man_n body_n never_o so_o active_a and_o able_a yet_o if_o the_o eye_n be_v shut_v up_o so_o that_o this_o heat_n by_o the_o inward_a light_n which_o it_o make_v can_v entertain_v the_o outward_a light_n the_o more_o active_a and_o stir_v this_o man_n be_v the_o more_o he_o stumble_v and_o the_o more_o he_o fall_v even_o so_o in_o the_o thing_n of_o grace_n if_o a_o man_n will_v separate_v heat_n from_o light_n he_o divorce_v those_o â—hat_n in_o the_o spirit_n be_v join_v together_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v likely_a that_o such_o be_v saint_n judes_n man_n separater_n sensual_a not_o have_v the_o spirit_n for_o where_o the_o spirit_n be_v there_o light_n be_v the_o guide_n of_o heat_n and_o such_o be_v lead_v by_o evident_a truth_n not_o by_o blind_a violence_n but_o to_o meet_v with_o their_o error_n more_o particular_o i_o will_v first_o lay_v my_o foundation_n and_o it_o be_v this_o a_o assure_a discovery_n of_o the_o true_a cause_n of_o man_n salvation_n not_o to_o run_v into_o byway_n the_o true_a way_n to_o life_n be_v christ_n the_o way_n the_o truth_n and_o the_o life_n christ_n our_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n &_o death_n and_o give_v we_o the_o new_a man_n wherein_o be_v include_v a_o right_a of_o inheritance_n unto_o life_n eternal_a the_o body_n of_o sin_n by_o sin_n have_v bind_v we_o unto_o death_n and_o by_o dominon_n have_v bind_v we_o to_o sin_n but_o christ_n jesus_n enter_v into_o we_o by_o his_o spirit_n by_o his_o death_n free_v we_o from_o the_o death_n to_o which_o we_o be_v bind_v and_o by_o his_o sanctify_a grace_n free_v we_o from_o that_o dominion_n by_o which_o we_o be_v bind_v unto_o sin_n so_o from_o henceforth_o neither_o sin_n nor_o death_n have_v business_n they_o kindle_v that_o which_o the_o spirit_n quench_v they_o set_v fire_n on_o the_o body_n which_o be_v the_o house_n of_o the_o soul_n they_o give_v life_n unto_o that_o which_o be_v man_n death_n and_o strive_v to_o kill_v man_n better_o that_o be_v already_o too_o much_o dead_a in_o sin_n and_o concupiscence_n broker_n for_o the_o devil_n that_o make_v ware_n for_o hell_n and_o the_o return_n of_o their_o merchandise_n be_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n but_o leave_v off_o this_o needless_a as_o well_o as_o wicked_a trade_n lust_n be_v as_o good_a a_o evil_a painter_n as_o yourselves_o it_o need_v no_o object_n nor_o representation_n for_o itself_o choose_v object_n fast_o enough_o and_o make_v to_o itself_o too_o many_o imagination_n and_o picture_n but_o if_o you_o will_v show_v the_o excellence_n of_o skill_n do_v something_o of_o rarity_n and_o make_v such_o image_n that_o may_v fright_v away_o lust_n by_o the_o apparition_n of_o torment_n and_o misery_n attend_v it_o or_o may_v persuade_v temperance_n by_o some_o lively_a pattern_n and_o character_n of_o sobriety_n and_o the_o excellent_a benefit_n follow_v it_o another_o kind_n of_o representation_n and_o which_o be_v do_v most_o to_o the_o life_n be_v that_o which_o be_v do_v most_o by_o the_o live_n so_o that_o life_n itself_o dwell_v in_o that_o representation_n hence_o thing_n so_o represent_v though_o past_a be_v fresh_o animate_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o other_o and_o live_v in_o they_o again_o and_o that_o so_o natural_o that_o they_o seem_v not_o to_o be_v other_o but_o the_o same_o and_o not_o so_o much_o to_o be_v the_o second_o as_o the_o first_o and_o sure_o if_o this_o representation_n be_v of_o profitable_a &_o commendable_a thing_n in_o a_o profitable_a and_o commendable_a manner_n i_o do_v not_o see_v how_o it_o can_v be_v condemn_v except_o a_o thing_n may_v be_v condemn_v for_o be_v profitable_a or_o for_o be_v a_o representation_n the_o first_o no_o man_n will_v affirm_v and_o i_o think_v the_o latter_a can_v hardly_o be_v defend_v for_o the_o personate_n of_o other_o may_v be_v pattern_v even_o by_o divine_a example_n one_o prophet_n take_v to_o he_o the_o representation_n of_o a_o foolish_a shepherd_n another_o of_o a_o man_n wound_v by_o he_o who_o prisoner_n he_o set_v free_a a_o three_o of_o a_o man_n fetter_v in_o chain_n and_o all_o these_o to_o teach_v more_o lively_a and_o to_o move_v more_o forcible_o but_o such_o great_a abuse_n have_v defile_v this_o kind_n of_o representation_n that_o it_o have_v not_o only_o leave_v the_o true_a and_o natural_a profit_n of_o it_o but_o it_o have_v seem_v to_o many_o grave_n and_o godly_a man_n rather_o fit_a to_o be_v take_v away_o then_o hopeful_a to_o be_v cure_v on_o the_o other_o side_n i_o see_v no_o hope_n of_o the_o take_v away_o and_o therefore_o i_o desire_v it_o may_v be_v cure_v and_o to_o that_o end_n be_o willing_a to_o show_v the_o chief_a corruption_n of_o it_o so_o reason_n especial_o in_o this_o state_n of_o corruption_n for_o if_o the_o soul_n be_v crooked_a it_o can_v serve_v for_o a_o rule_n to_o rectify_v itself_o but_o the_o primative_a rule_n and_o goodness_n ought_v to_o be_v the_o rule_n of_o the_o derivative_n and_o to_o it_o must_v it_o have_v recourse_n to_o know_v whether_o it_o have_v swerve_v or_o no._n therefore_o the_o philosopher_n while_o he_o dwell_v in_o himself_o fail_v in_o judgement_n as_o well_o as_o in_o honesty_n but_o the_o divine_a i_o mean_v the_o practiser_n of_o divinity_n escape_v these_o fault_n and_o ennoble_v himself_o far_o above_o the_o philosopher_n by_o a_o continual_a recourse_n to_o his_o original_n for_o perceive_v that_o from_o god_n he_o have_v his_o knowledge_n &_o goodness_n he_o look_v up_o
