danger_n and_o how_o hardly_o persuade_v to_o enter_v into_o or_o when_o enter_v to_o continue_v in_o the_o way_n of_o life_n and_o now_o o_o lord_n what_o be_v thy_o servant_n that_o thou_o shall_v be_v so_o love_v and_o indulgent_a to_o i_o and_o bring_v i_o into_o the_o way_n of_o life_n when_o thou_o have_v leave_v so_o many_o other_o to_o perish_v in_o the_o path_n of_o death_n and_o be_v so_o unwearied_a in_o thy_o care_n to_o preserve_v and_o keep_v i_o therein_o when_o thou_o permit_v so_o many_o other_o to_o be_v wheedle_v by_o the_o prince_n of_o darkness_n and_o a_o deceitful_a yield_a heart_n foolish_o to_o turn_v out_o of_o it_o into_o the_o way_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n again_o lord_n let_v the_o consideration_n hereof_o inflame_v my_o heart_n with_o more_o love_n to_o thou_o teach_v i_o to_o be_v more_o faithful_a and_o obedient_a and_o lead_v my_o soul_n to_o a_o near_o and_o a_o more_o universal_a compliance_n with_o the_o divine_a will._n now_o methinks_v see_v the_o three_o pilgrim_n thus_o part_v i_o become_v strange_o concern_v thereat_o and_o it_o create_v in_o i_o a_o extraordinary_a desire_n to_o know_v what_o become_v of_o they_o all_o and_o whither_o the_o two_o by-path_n lead_v to_o which_o end_n i_o will_v get_v upon_o the_o wall_n sometime_o on_o one_o wall_n and_o sometime_o on_o the_o other_o and_o look_v after_o they_o yet_o so_o as_o not_o to_o lose_v the_o sight_n of_o my_o pilgrim_n who_o continue_v still_o in_o the_o narrow_a way_n and_o i_o see_v that_o the_o way_n on_o the_o lefthand_n which_o will_v be_v happy_a take_v be_v a_o road_n of_o so_o much_o business_n that_o the_o employ_v and_o management_n thereof_o ingross_v so_o much_o of_o his_o time_n and_o keep_v he_o in_o such_o a_o perpetual_a hurry_n that_o he_o not_o only_o lose_v his_o way_n to_o the_o celestial_a paradise_n but_o he_o quite_o forget_v also_o that_o there_o be_v any_o such_o place_n or_o at_o leastwise_o that_o ever_o he_o have_v be_v travel_v towards_o it_o or_o have_v any_o kind_n of_o business_n there_o and_o at_o length_n it_o bring_v he_o into_o the_o broad_a way_n again_o where_o he_o return_v without_o any_o reluctancy_n or_o notice_n be_v not_o at_o all_o concern_v thereat_o well_o think_v i_o i_o may_v now_o say_v of_o thou_o farewell_n for_o ever_o for_o there_o be_v now_o a_o end_n of_o thy_o pilgrimage_n unless_o the_o eternal_a who_o be_v the_o father_n of_o mercy_n shall_v by_o a_o miracle_n of_o mercy_n revive_v thy_o conviction_n again_o and_o as_o for_o desire_n to_o be_v good_a i_o see_v that_o not_o long_o after_o his_o entrance_n into_o the_o path_n he_o overtake_v one_o who_o name_n be_v intend_v well_o who_o be_v get_v over_o into_o the_o path_n not_o long_o before_o he_o fancy_v as_o the_o other_o that_o now_o they_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v but_o to_o mind_n and_o follow_v their_o general_n vocation_n vain_o imagine_v that_o the_o eternal_o command_v they_o to_o forsake_v the_o world_n not_o suffer_v themselves_o to_o be_v carnal_a but_o spiritual_o mind_v have_v their_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n and_o that_o they_o shall_v set_v their_o affection_n not_o on_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v see_v but_o on_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v not_o see_v because_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v see_v be_v temporal_a but_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v not_o see_v be_v eternal_a i_o say_v they_o think_v that_o those_o command_v warrant_v their_o so_o do_v but_o as_o i_o afterward_o learned_a they_o be_v gross_o mistake_v therein_o and_o that_o this_o mistake_n be_v almost_o as_o mischievous_a and_o as_o fatal_a as_o the_o other_o into_o which_o will_v be_v happy_a fall_v now_o i_o see_v they_o walk_v together_o a_o long_a time_n in_o that_o way_n every_o day_n frequent_v of_o sermon_n and_o lecture_n and_o christian_a conferrence_n or_o else_o keep_v of_o day_n of_o fast_v and_o humiliation_n in_o all_o which_o they_o seem_v to_o take_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o delight_n and_o pleasure_n and_o manifest_v abundance_n of_o heat_n warmth_n and_o zeal_n well_o think_v i_o i_o hope_v better_a thing_n of_o these_o two_o pilgrim_n than_o i_o do_v of_o the_o other_o that_o take_v the_o lefthand_n way_n but_o at_o length_n i_o perceive_v they_o to_o be_v perfect_o glut_v and_o clog_v with_o their_o enjoyment_n and_o by_o the_o constancy_n of_o their_o attendance_n thereon_o their_o fervour_n begin_v to_o flag_n and_o by_o degree_n they_o grow_v exceed_o weary_a and_o tire_v thereof_o and_o afterward_o i_o understand_v that_o be_v the_o design_n of_o the_o subtle_a serpent_n in_o persuade_v and_o draw_v they_o into_o that_o path_n that_o so_o by_o be_v righteous_a over_o much_o they_o may_v be_v surfeit_v with_o the_o duty_n and_o ordinance_n of_o religion_n and_o turn_v from_o they_o with_o loathe_v and_o thereupon_o return_v again_o to_o his_o service_n or_o at_o least_o put_v they_o to_o the_o trouble_n of_o go_v back_o again_o as_o far_o as_o the_o straight_a gate_n in_o order_n to_o their_o get_n into_o the_o way_n of_o life_n again_o and_o so_o it_o fall_v out_o in_o those_o two_o pilgrim_n for_o i_o see_v intend_v well_o at_o length_n fall_v into_o a_o certain_a path_n which_o lead_v back_o again_o into_o the_o broad_a way_n and_o i_o never_o hear_v that_o there_o be_v ever_o any_o far_a enquiry_n make_v by_o he_o after_o the_o celestial_a paradise_n and_o desire_v to_o be_v good_a beginning_n now_o to_o be_v sensible_a of_o the_o error_n he_o have_v be_v guilty_a of_o in_o turn_v out_o of_o the_o way_n wherein_o the_o king_n have_v appoint_v he_o to_o go_v on_o pilgrimage_n to_o the_o celestial_a paradise_n and_o be_v thereupon_o overwhelm_v with_o sorrow_n he_o return_v with_o grief_n and_o shame_n to_o the_o straight_a gate_n whereat_o believer_n have_v enter_v which_o he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o pass_v without_o much_o difficulty_n and_o strive_v nor_o be_v he_o favour_v with_o those_o sweet_a soul-affecting_a and_o heart-ravishing_a intimation_n and_o assurance_n of_o the_o redeemer_n love_n wherewith_o believer_n be_v blessed_v nor_o do_v the_o son_n of_o righteousness_n arise_v upon_o he_o with_o so_o much_o brightness_n and_o splendour_n as_o upon_o the_o other_o but_o instead_o thereof_o he_o be_v force_v through_o a_o long_a tract_n of_o time_n to_o walk_v alone_o in_o a_o mournful_a and_o disconsolate_a manner_n bitter_o exclaim_v against_o his_o former_a folly_n and_o ever_o and_o anon_o lament_v the_o absence_n and_o declare_v how_o vehement_o he_o long_v for_o the_o therefore_o unless_o you_o intend_v go_v through_o a_o by_o way_n to_o tophet_n and_o perish_v as_o certain_o as_o if_o you_o have_v never_o set_v a_o step_n or_o move_v a_o foot_n towards_o paradise_n look_v beyond_o we_o and_o flee_v to_o the_o only_a refuge_n that_o can_v secure_v you_o from_o the_o avenger_n of_o blood_n who_o be_v still_o in_o pursuit_n of_o thou_o and_o will_v certain_o and_o sudden_o overtake_v thou_o if_o thou_o stay_v here_o oh_o therefore_o be_v advise_v before_o he_o lay_v hold_v of_o thou_o and_o sheath_n the_o sword_n of_o justice_n thy_o bowel_n you_o may_v well_o imagine_v that_o the_o hear_v those_o terrible_a unpleasing_a and_o unexpected_a lecture_n where_o he_o expect_v to_o find_v nothing_o but_o peace_n and_o tranquillity_n and_o a_o perpetual_a safety_n from_o that_o desolation_n and_o woe_n which_o he_o find_v himself_o notwithstanding_o still_o subject_a to_o and_o be_v threaten_v and_o denounce_v against_o he_o with_o as_o wit_n end_n and_o upon_o the_o very_a brink_n and_o border_n of_o despair_n whereupon_o i_o see_v he_o rouse_v himself_o and_o fall_v more_o roundly_o to_o work_n with_o prayer_n and_o fast_v keep_v the_o sabbath_n and_o hear_v of_o sermon_n frequent_v of_o lecture_n and_o christian_a conference_n and_o like_o the_o mariner_n in_o a_o storm_n and_o ready_a to_o perish_v he_o cast_v away_o and_o abandon_v many_o of_o those_o thing_n which_o hitherto_o have_v be_v pleasant_a and_o delightful_a but_o now_o he_o find_v they_o to_o be_v burdensome_a and_o dangerous_a to_o he_o notwithstanding_o all_o which_o no_o peace_n comfort_n or_o consolation_n can_v he_o obtain_v for_o although_o he_o follow_v hard_o after_o they_o they_o flee_v so_o fast_o from_o he_o that_o he_o can_v not_o possible_o overtake_v they_o whereupon_o he_o begin_v to_o expostulate_v with_o himself_o after_o this_o manner_n unhappy_a man_n that_o i_o be_o while_o i_o remain_v in_o my_o course_n of_o sin_n and_o wickedness_n i_o can_v not_o be_v at_o quiet_a for_o conscience_n who_o harrass_v i_o continual_o to_o leave_v my_o dance_v about_o the_o pit_n which_o be_v as_o he_o affirm_v and_o as_o i_o be_o apt_a to_o believe_v bottomless_a and_o now_o i_o have_v comply_v with_o his_o advice_n i_o can_v as_o yet_o obtain_v any_o peace_n in_o my_o soul_n what_o can_v possible_o be_v the_o reason_n or_o occasion_n thereof_o i_o wish_v i_o have_v not_o mistake_v the_o way_n which_o i_o be_v direct_v to_o take_v and_o be_o get_v into_o some_o other_o path_n which_o lead_v not_o to_o celestial_a paradise_n but_o to_o some_o other_o place_n but_o i_o certain_o think_v it_o can_v be_v so_o for_o i_o remember_v that_o i_o have_v always_o be_v tell_v by_o those_o who_o have_v be_v well_o acquaint_v with_o the_o way_n and_o be_v appoint_v by_o the_o king_n of_o the_o country_n to_o be_v guide_n to_o those_o who_o travel_v thither_o that_o pray_v hear_v the_o word_n and_o other_o such_o like_a holy_a exercise_n wherein_o i_o now_o employ_v myself_o lead_v direct_o towards_o paradise_n and_o yet_o my_o heart_n misgive_v i_o that_o this_o can_v be_v the_o way_n because_o i_o remember_v also_o that_o they_o use_v to_o describe_v the_o way_n of_o paradise_n to_o be_v way_n of_o pleasantness_n and_o all_o the_o path_n therein_o to_o be_v path_n of_o peace_n but_o to_o the_o trouble_n and_o disquiet_v of_o my_o soul_n i_o can_v find_v no_o such_o thing_n by_o those_o way_n wherein_o i_o now_o be_o and_o then_o direct_v himself_o to_o the_o eternal_a he_o say_v o_o lord_n rebuke_v my_o flesh_n because_o of_o thy_o anger_n neither_o be_v there_o any_o rest_n in_o my_o bone_n because_o of_o my_o sin_n for_o thou_o have_v bring_v all_o my_o iniquity_n upon_o my_o head_n as_o a_o heavy_a burden_n they_o be_v too_o heavy_a for_o i_o to_o bear_v my_o wound_n stink_v and_o be_v corrupt_a because_o of_o my_o foolishness_n i_o be_o trouble_v i_o be_o bow_v down_o great_o i_o go_v by_o reason_n of_o the_o disquietness_n of_o my_o soul_n but_o thou_o o_o lord_n know_v all_o my_o desire_n and_o my_o groan_n be_v not_o hide_v from_o thou_o my_o heart_n pant_v and_o my_o strength_n of_o thy_o gospel_n as_o the_o peaceful_a way_n and_o pleasant_a and_o delightful_a path_n in_o and_o through_o which_o i_o must_v by_o thy_o assistance_n walk_v to_o thy_o kingdom_n i_o do_v here_o willing_o submit_v my_o neck_n to_o thy_o yoke_n and_o acknowledge_v all_o thy_o law_n to_o be_v holy_a just_a and_o good_a i_o do_v solemn_o take_v they_o as_o a_o considerable_a part_n of_o my_o of_o any_o thing_n which_o be_v my_o duty_n only_o in_o regard_n that_o through_o the_o frailty_n of_o my_o flesh_n i_o be_o subject_a to_o many_o fail_n i_o humble_o presume_v to_o protest_v before_o thou_o that_o unallow_v miscarriage_n contrary_a to_o the_o settle_a bent_n and_o inclination_n of_o my_o heart_n shall_v not_o annul_v this_o covenant_n which_o i_o be_o the_o more_o bold_a to_o make_v they_o who_o be_v by_o nature_n child_n of_o his_o everlasting_a wrath_n child_n of_o his_o dear_a love_n by_o grace_n and_o the_o part_n with_o and_o give_v up_o his_o own_o eternal_a son_n who_o have_v never_o offend_v he_o to_o become_v a_o sacrifice_n and_o a_o ransom_n for_o lose_a and_o undo_v mankind_n who_o be_v stranger_n and_o enemy_n and_o have_v ever_o rebel_v against_o he_o second_o the_o wonderful_a love_n of_o the_o bless_a redeemer_n in_o consent_v to_o give_v himself_o his_o blood_n his_o life_n his_o soul_n a_o ransom_n for_o his_o people_n to_o ransom_v they_o from_o everlasting_a misery_n buy_v they_o out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o justice_n purchase_n for_o they_o a_o eternal_a weight_n of_o glory_n and_o a_o everlasting_a inheritance_n with_o the_o saint_n in_o light_n but_o that_o which_o add_v to_o and_o increase_v the_o wonder_n beyond_o all_o expression_n nay_o beyond_o conception_n itself_o be_v that_o all_o this_o shall_v be_v do_v for_o worm_n and_o rottenness_n for_o dust_n and_o ash_n for_o the_o most_o filthy_a and_o pollute_a for_o the_o most_o worthless_a and_o despicable_a creature_n who_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o merit_v or_o any_o way_n deserve_v this_o redeem_v love_n before_o or_o answer_v and_o compensate_v of_o it_o after_o it_o be_v beâ—â—â—â—ed_v upon_o they_o the_o five_o wonder_n be_v a_o wonder_n of_o divine_a patience_n long-suffering_a and_o forbearance_n in_o that_o the_o eternal_a do_v not_o speedy_o execute_v vengeance_n upon_o those_o ungrateful_a wretch_n who_o have_v slight_v his_o mercy_n abuse_v his_o love_n and_o scornful_o refuse_v and_o trample_v upon_o his_o son_n affront_a he_o for_o the_o kindness_n he_o offer_v they_o and_o spit_v in_o his_o face_n for_o the_o reward_n of_o his_o love_n in_o tender_v they_o pardon_n and_o forgiveness_n now_o although_o those_o dish_n which_o be_v already_o place_v on_o the_o table_n be_v admirable_a and_o splendid_a yet_o those_o which_o follow_v far_o exceed_v they_o in_o sweetness_n and_o afford_v infinite_o more_o delight_n and_o satisfaction_n to_o those_o who_o feed_v thereon_o and_o the_o first_o of_o they_o be_v a_o particular_a and_o effectual_a application_n of_o elect_v redeem_v and_o convert_v love_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o redeem_a by_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o mystery_n likewise_o contain_v in_o it_o several_a wonder_n as_o that_o divine_a goodness_n shall_v choose_v they_o
and_o neglect_v other_o make_v they_o to_o be_v the_o heir_n of_o life_n whilst_o other_o be_v leave_v to_o inherit_v the_o path_n of_o death_n that_o he_o shall_v embrace_v they_o in_o his_o arm_n and_o bestow_v upon_o they_o the_o kiss_v of_o his_o lip_n whilst_o other_o be_v not_o permit_v so_o much_o as_o to_o behold_v his_o face_n but_o be_v by_o a_o sentence_n of_o banishment_n for_o ever_o exclude_v from_o his_o presence_n that_o he_o shall_v indulge_v they_o in_o his_o bosom_n when_o other_o be_v trample_v under_o his_o foot_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v receive_v and_o accept_v constant_a and_o loyal_a to_o he_o the_o last_o course_n which_o i_o see_v serve_v up_o be_v unchangeable_a love_n bring_v to_o the_o table_n and_o hand_v down_o and_o convey_v to_o they_o in_o a_o unalterable_a and_o a_o everlasting_a covenant_n order_v in_o all_o thing_n and_o sure_a and_o for_o the_o better_a please_v of_o the_o eye_n as_o well_o as_o delight_v and_o satisfy_v of_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o guest_n the_o dish_n be_v cover_v over_o with_o promise_n of_o a_o inestimable_a value_n and_o garnish_v round_o with_o such_o assurance_n as_o these_o i_o will_v not_o violate_v my_o covenant_n i_o will_v not_o alter_v my_o love_n nor_o suffer_v my_o faithfulness_n to_o fail_v my_o covenant_n will_v i_o not_o break_v nor_o alter_v the_o thing_n which_o be_v go_v out_o of_o be_v sause_v with_o eternity_n and_o garnish_v with_o unchangeableness_n and_o instability_n neither_o be_v there_o want_v variety_n of_o delectable_a liquor_n for_o the_o satiate_v of_o the_o thirsty_a as_o well_o as_o the_o satisfy_n of_o the_o hungry_a soul_n for_o there_o be_v plenty_n of_o live_v water_n honey_a milk_n and_o spice_a wine_n in_o abundance_n and_o indeed_o the_o glory_n as_o well_o as_o the_o plenty_n of_o the_o feast_n be_v such_o that_o i_o fear_v nothing_o more_o than_o that_o i_o shall_v detract_v from_o and_o lessen_v it_o by_o my_o attempt_n to_o describe_v it_o and_o therefore_o i_o will_v have_v you_o guess_v at_o it_o not_o so_o much_o by_o my_o description_n as_o by_o the_o wealth_n and_o riches_n and_o the_o bounty_n and_o love_n of_o the_o king_n that_o make_v it_o and_o the_o quality_n of_o the_o person_n who_o he_o invite_v to_o it_o now_o you_o must_v know_v the_o king_n who_o make_v this_o feast_n be_v the_o lord_n of_o life_n and_o glory_n the_o eternal_a god_n the_o everlasting_a jehovah_n the_o mighty_a and_o the_o uncontrollable_a monarch_n of_o the_o universe_n who_o say_v of_o the_o earth_n it_o be_v i_o and_o all_o the_o fullness_n thereof_o and_o be_v the_o owner_n and_o absolute_a disposer_n of_o all_o that_o the_o heaven_n of_o heaven_n can_v produce_v and_o whensoever_o he_o make_v a_o feast_n he_o make_v it_o like_o himself_o that_o so_o he_o may_v thereby_o show_v forth_o and_o declare_v to_o they_o who_o be_v his_o happy_a guest_n the_o wealth_n and_o riches_n and_o glory_n and_o fullness_n and_o love_n majesty_n of_o their_o port_n and_o carriage_n they_o each_o of_o they_o resemble_v the_o child_n of_o a_o king_n now_o the_o table_n be_v thus_o spread_v and_o furnish_v the_o guest_n seat_v and_o the_o steward_n of_o the_o feast_n have_v implore_v a_o blessing_n from_o heaven_n upon_o the_o rich_a variety_n wherewith_o it_o be_v store_v the_o king_n himself_o array_v in_o royal_a robe_n of_o love_n and_o majesty_n gird_v about_o with_o truth_n and_o faithfulness_n and_o have_v his_o crown_n on_o his_o head_n and_o brave_o attend_v on_o by_o a_o innumerable_a company_n of_o his_o glorious_a splendid_a and_o shine_v courtier_n come_v in_o among_o they_o and_o salute_v they_o all_o bid_v they_o welcome_a to_o his_o table_n and_o turn_v first_o to_o one_o and_o then_o to_o irrefragable_a argument_n give_v you_o unquestionable_a demonstration_n thereof_o the_o king_n have_v make_v this_o declaration_n methinks_v i_o see_v believer_n who_o have_v before_o he_o will_v adventure_v to_o approach_v the_o table_n or_o participate_v of_o the_o feast_n to_o which_o he_o be_v invite_v pluck_v out_o of_o his_o bosom_n which_o be_v the_o place_n where_o he_o use_v to_o keep_v it_o the_o memorial_n of_o his_o covenant_n and_o have_v read_v the_o condition_n thereof_o and_o consider_v with_o himself_o how_o he_o have_v answer_v the_o obligation_n he_o have_v thereby_o lay_v upon_o he_o and_o find_v himself_o saulty_a in_o some_o particular_n he_o mighty_o bewail_v his_o folly_n and_o oversight_n therein_o and_o in_o the_o most_o humble_a manner_n imaginable_a upon_o his_o knee_n with_o shame_n and_o blush_a acknowledge_v and_o confess_v it_o and_o crave_v pardon_n for_o the_o same_o protest_v the_o sincerity_n of_o his_o intention_n to_o amend_v and_o
