yet_o they_o be_v but_o earthen_a one_o and_o will_v soon_o be_v break_v by_o the_o blow_n of_o god_n hand_n though_o these_o goard_n be_v very_o delightful_a to_o we_o and_o we_o find_v great_a ministry_n unto_o god_n then_o how_o diligent_a and_o laborious_a shall_v they_o be_v therein_o sure_o they_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o bring_v as_o much_o glory_n to_o the_o reverend_a and_o holy_a name_n of_o god_n and_o to_o do_v as_o much_o good_a to_o the_o precious_a soul_n of_o man_n as_o they_o can_v while_o they_o live_v for_o when_o they_o die_v they_o can_v do_v no_o more_o when_o death_n have_v seize_v upon_o they_o they_o can_v no_o more_o proclaim_v the_o glad_a tiding_n of_o peace_n to_o the_o rebellious_a world_n they_o can_v no_o more_o inform_v the_o ignorant_a quicken_v the_o slothful_a convince_v gainsayers_a persuade_v the_o disobedient_a strengthen_v the_o weak_a or_o comfort_v the_o disconsolate_a moreover_o they_o shall_v be_v excite_v to_o diligence_n in_o their_o work_n by_o that_o awful_a account_n which_o they_o must_v give_v ever_o long_o to_o their_o lord_n will_v a_o prudent_a servant_n loiter_v in_o the_o day_n time_n who_o know_v that_o his_o master_n will_v take_v a_o account_n of_o his_o work_n at_o night_n oh_o how_o little_a do_v some_o who_o enter_v on_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n consider_v that_o dreadful_a account_n that_o be_v a_o great_a piece_n of_o self-denial_n in_o a_o minister_n that_o be_v satisfy_v in_o his_o fitness_n for_o death_n to_o be_v willing_a to_o live_v we_o have_v a_o instance_n of_o this_o in_o the_o apostle_n paul_n who_o though_o upon_o his_o own_o account_n he_o desire_v to_o depart_v and_o to_o be_v with_o christ_n yet_o for_o the_o sake_n of_o the_o church_n he_o be_v willing_a to_o abide_v long_o in_o the_o flesh_n 1_o phil._n 23.24_o 2._o by_o way_n of_o exhortation_n have_v a_o care_n that_o you_o do_v not_o hasten_v the_o death_n of_o your_o minister_n it_o be_v true_a their_o day_n be_v determine_v by_o that_o god_n in_o who_o hand_n all_o our_o time_n be_v but_o you_o may_v be_v instrumental_a to_o shorten_v their_o life_n and_o that_o not_o only_o by_o put_v to_o the_o lord_n of_o the_o prophet_n you_o will_v provoke_v he_o to_o take_v they_o away_o from_o you_o if_o you_o fall_v down_o and_o worship_n these_o bright_a and_o glitter_a star_n no_o wonder_n if_o the_o father_n of_o light_n remove_v they_o from_o your_o sight_n if_o you_o advance_v they_o to_o god_n throne_n he_o will_v quick_o lay_v they_o in_o the_o dust_n 2._o by_o undervalue_v they_o by_o slight_v and_o contemn_v their_o person_n their_o gift_n or_o their_o message_n if_o you_o do_v not_o prize_v your_o mercy_n when_o you_o enjoy_v they_o god_n will_v make_v you_o to_o know_v the_o worth_n of_o they_o in_o the_o want_n of_o they_o if_o you_o despise_v god_n ambassador_n it_o be_v time_n for_o he_o to_o recall_v they_o moreover_o hereby_o you_o will_v wound_v their_o soul_n and_o break_v their_o heart_n and_o why_o will_v you_o bring_v their_o head_n with_o sorrow_n to_o the_o grave_n who_o have_v so_o great_a a_o regard_n to_o your_o welfare_n 2._o look_v upon_o your_o live_a minister_n as_o die_a man_n and_o that_o to_o these_o two_o end_n and_o purpose_n 1._o that_o you_o may_v moderate_v your_o affection_n towards_o they_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o vanity_n and_o frailty_n of_o all_o create_a object_n shall_v wean_v our_o heart_n and_o affection_n from_o they_o and_o this_o consideration_n shall_v have_v the_o same_o influence_n upon_o we_o with_o respect_n to_o gospel_n minister_n why_o shall_v we_o set_v our_o eye_n our_o heart_n upon_o those_o who_o be_v not_o for_o they_o will_v soon_o take_v to_o themselves_o wing_n and_o fly_v away_o from_o we_o into_o a_o invisible_a world_n second_o that_o you_o may_v make_v the_o utmost_a improvement_n of_o they_o while_o they_o continue_v with_o you_o endeavour_v to_o get_v as_o much_o good_a as_o you_o can_v from_o they_o while_o they_o live_v for_o when_o they_o be_v
once_o enter_v into_o the_o gloomy_a shade_n of_o death_n they_o can_v be_v no_o far_o beneficial_a to_o you_o they_o shall_v no_o more_o entreat_v you_o caution_n or_o warn_v you_o counsel_n and_o admonish_v you_o comfort_n and_o encourage_v you_o than_o they_o shall_v no_o more_o pray_v for_o or_o with_o you_o as_o death_n stop_v the_o ear_n of_o the_o hearer_n so_o it_o tie_v the_o tongue_n misimprovement_n of_o they_o it_o be_v rare_a that_o we_o prize_v what_o we_o have_v till_o we_o have_v it_o not_o and_o we_o seldom_o know_v the_o worth_n of_o a_o mercy_n till_o we_o experience_v the_o want_n of_o it_o furthermore_o consider_v that_o as_o your_o minister_n must_v appear_v before_o the_o divine_a bar_n to_o give_v a_o account_n of_o their_o ministry_n so_o you_o must_v appear_v there_o to_o give_v a_o account_n of_o your_o attendance_n on_o it_o if_o you_o reject_v their_o message_n they_o will_v come_v in_o as_o evidence_n against_o you_o in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n say_v the_o apostle_n do_v you_o not_o know_v that_o the_o saint_n shall_v judge_v the_o world_n 1_o cor._n 6.2_o and_o minister_n shall_v with_o other_o saint_n judge_v the_o world_n not_o only_o communicative_o and_o participative_o in_o christ_n their_o mystical_a head_n and_o approbative_o with_o respect_n unto_o that_o assent_n which_o they_o shall_v give_v unto_o christ_n sentence_n but_o leave_v when_o they_o shall_v say_v lord_n these_o be_v the_o man_n upon_o who_o we_o spend_v our_o time_n and_o our_o strength_n who_o we_o teach_v and_o admonish_v in_o season_n and_o out_o of_o season_n for_o the_o salvation_n of_o who_o soul_n we_o destroy_v our_o own_o body_n we_o preach_v to_o they_o with_o the_o great_a seriousness_n and_o persuade_v they_o with_o the_o great_a importunity_n as_o if_o our_o own_o salvation_n have_v depend_v upon_o the_o work_n out_o of_o they_o we_o be_v as_o boanerges_n son_n of_o thunder_n proclaim_v to_o they_o the_o terror_n of_o a_o fiery_a law_n and_o like_o barnabas_n son_n of_o consolation_n declare_v to_o they_o the_o blessing_n of_o the_o everlasting_a gospel_n we_o set_v before_o they_o life_n and_o death_n blessing_n and_o curse_v but_o they_o be_v like_o the_o deaf_a adder_n which_o stop_v her_o ear_n at_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o charmer_n charm_v he_o never_o so_o wise_o therefore_o o_o lord_n we_o acknowledge_v they_o deserve_v the_o heavy_a stroke_n of_o vindictive_a justice_n three_o when_o god_n have_v take_v away_o any_o of_o his_o faithful_a minister_n be_v not_o insensible_a of_o the_o stroke_n though_o we_o must_v not_o murmur_v at_o it_o yet_o we_o ought_v to_o mourn_v for_o it_o shall_v not_o we_o lie_v in_o the_o dust_n when_o the_o crown_n be_v fall_v from_o our_o head_n shall_v the_o light_n of_o the_o world_n be_v remove_v and_o we_o put_v no_o sack_n clothe_v on_o our_o loin_n let_v we_o consider_v whether_o our_o sin_n have_v not_o occasion_v the_o removal_n of_o god_n prophet_n and_o if_o they_o have_v let_v we_o speedy_o repent_v of_o they_o and_o turn_v from_o they_o lest_o we_o provoke_v god_n far_a to_o stretch_v out_o his_o hand_n and_o take_v more_o labourer_n out_o of_o his_o vineyard_n if_o one_o affliction_n do_v not_o reform_v we_o we_o must_v expect_v another_o will_n quick_o tread_v upon_o its_o heel_n four_o when_o god_n have_v take_v away_o any_o of_o your_o minister_n endeavour_v to_o recollect_v and_o retain_v those_o excellent_a truth_n which_o be_v deliver_v by_o they_o while_o they_o go_v in_o and_o out_o before_o you_o let_v i_o persuade_v you_o who_o attend_v upon_o this_o lecture_n to_o call_v to_o mind_v those_o bless_a truth_n which_o that_o faithful_a servant_n of_o god_n who_o once_o speak_v to_o you_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n but_o be_v now_o enter_v into_o the_o place_n of_o silence_n deliver_v to_o you_o therein_o and_o endeavour_v to_o reduce_v they_o unto_o practice_n though_o he_o be_v dead_a the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n live_v and_o abide_v for_o ever_o those_o counsel_n which_o he_o give_v you_o from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v oblige_v you_o though_o he_o be_v bind_v with_o the_o chain_n of_o death_n five_o when_o your_o minister_n be_v take_v away_o by_o death_n consider_v what_o thing_n be_v commendable_a in_o they_o and_o endeavour_v a_o imitation_n of_o they_o therein_o it_o be_v true_a the_o best_a of_o they_o have_v their_o fail_n and_o imperfection_n moses_n and_o elias_n be_v man_n subject_a to_o the_o like_a passion_n as_o we_o be_v the_o most_o eminent_a saint_n be_v to_o be_v follow_v by_o we_o no_o far_o than_o they_o follow_v christ_n but_o when_o they_o be_v go_v all_o their_o fail_n shall_v be_v bury_v with_o they_o and_o their_o excellency_n shall_v be_v keep_v alive_a in_o our_o memory_n in_o order_n to_o our_o imitation_n of_o they_o and_o indeed_o there_o be_v several_a thing_n of_o this_o nature_n observable_a in_o this_o reverend_n old_a man._n 1._o his_o accurate_a and_o circumspect_a walk_n i_o do_v not_o say_v that_o he_o be_v whole_o free_a from_o sin_n sinless_a perfection_n be_v unattainable_a in_o a_o mortal_a state_n but_o yet_o he_o be_v one_o who_o careful_o endeavour_v to_o avoid_v it_o he_o with_o the_o apostle_n paul_n do_v herein_o exercise_v himself_o to_o have_v always_o a_o conscience_n void_a of_o
