vouchsafe_v not_o to_o hear_v shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o allege_v one_o sound_a reason_n for_o his_o own_o defence_n but_o as_o i_o have_v say_v these_o repetition_n set_v forth_o the_o patience_n of_o god_n in_o call_v us._n for_o he_o summon_v we_o not_o for_o once_o only_o but_o if_o he_o perceive_v that_o we_o be_v slow_a he_o admonish_v we_o the_o second_o yea_o the_o three_o time_n that_o he_o may_v overcome_v our_o stubbornness_n he_o reject_v not_o those_o then_o at_o the_o first_o which_o disdain_v he_o but_o after_o he_o have_v many_o time_n allure_v they_o furthermore_o here_o be_v express_v the_o nature_n of_o faith_n faith_n the_o nature_n of_o faith_n when_o he_o command_v we_o to_o come_v unto_o he_o for_o we_o must_v so_o hear_v the_o lord_n that_o the_o fruit_n thereof_o may_v also_o follow_v those_o also_o who_o receive_v the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o faith_n do_v cast_v away_o their_o lust_n and_o reject_v the_o world_n wherewith_o they_o be_v fast_o bind_v that_o they_o may_v willing_o draw_v near_o unto_o god_n and_o that_o with_o much_o joy_n and_o gladness_n of_o heart_n yet_o faith_n can_v not_o be_v conceive_v without_o hear_v rom._n faith_n then_o faith_n god_n word_n the_o ground_n of_o faith_n let_v we_o remember_v that_o it_o must_v be_v join_v to_o the_o word_n in_o which_o it_o have_v her_o foundation_n where_o he_o add_v and_o i_o will_v make_v a_o covenant_n some_o demand_n quest_n whether_o god_n have_v not_o make_v a_o perpetual_a covenant_n with_o the_o jew_n before_o for_o he_o seem_v to_o promise_v a_o new_a and_o unaccustomed_a thing_n here_o i_o answer_v ans_fw-fr he_o promise_v no_o new_a thing_n but_o that_o which_o god_n have_v before_o contract_v with_o the_o people_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v but_o a_o renew_v and_o a_o confirmation_n of_o the_o covenant_n to_o the_o end_n the_o jew_n shall_v not_o think_v that_o god_n promise_n be_v abolish_v though_o they_o see_v themselves_o so_o long_o eternal_a and_o neither_o mutable_a nor_o temporary_a he_o signify_v the_o same_o thing_n by_o the_o mercy_n of_o david_n but_o by_o this_o clause_n he_o show_v that_o the_o covenant_n be_v free_a because_o it_o have_v its_o foundation_n lay_v in_o nothing_o but_o in_o the_o mere_a goodness_n of_o god_n as_o oft_o then_o as_o we_o mere_a with_o this_o word_n covenant_n in_o the_o scripture_n together_o covenant_n and_o mercy_n must_v always_o be_v match_v together_o we_o must_v therewithal_o call_v to_o mind_v the_o word_n mercy_n or_o grace_n now_o he_o pronounce_v he_o will_v be_v faithful_a therein_o and_o forthwith_o he_o signify_v that_o

god_n favour_v they_o exceed_o in_o suffer_v they_o to_o be_v safe_a and_o sound_a while_o other_o die_v if_o by_o man_n of_o mercy_n you_o understand_v the_o charitable_a and_o pitiful_a than_o this_o epithet_n must_v be_v diligent_o note_v for_o thereby_o the_o prophet_n show_v what_o the_o true_a righteousness_n of_o god_n child_n be_v whereas_o hypocrite_n place_v their_o righteousness_n in_o thing_n of_o no_o value_n now_o there_o be_v no_o virtue_n more_o please_v unto_o god_n than_o liberality_n whereby_o we_o manifest_v our_o righteousness_n and_o discover_v unto_o all_o a_o heart_n void_a of_o guile_n but_o merciful_a man_n may_v as_o well_o be_v take_v in_o the_o passive_a signification_n namely_o for_o such_o to_o who_o the_o lord_n show_v mercy_n for_o this_o manner_n of_o speech_n be_v common_a enough_o among_o the_o hebrew_n neither_o be_v it_o from_o the_o purpose_n to_o say_v that_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v privy_o oppose_v to_o the_o perverse_a before_o germany_n be_v pitiful_o waste_v with_o that_o furious_a war_n which_o many_o year_n before_o he_o have_v foretell_v while_o he_o thunder_v against_o the_o contempt_n of_o the_o gospel_n against_o the_o villainy_n and_o foul_a enormity_n which_o then_o overflow_v in_o every_o place_n often_o he_o entreat_v the_o lord_n to_o take_v he_o out_o of_o this_o life_n before_o he_o shall_v see_v those_o horrible_a judgement_n which_o he_o have_v threaten_v the_o apprehension_n whereof_o make_v he_o to_o quake_v for_o fear_n and_o this_o request_n he_o obtain_v of_o the_o lord_n soon_o after_o his_o death_n a_o sudden_a and_o unexpected_a war_n begin_v to_o invade_v and_o miserable_o to_o afflict_v germany_n even_o then_o when_o they_o suspect_v nothing_o less_o and_o example_n hereof_o also_o we_o have_v daily_o and_o doubtless_o if_o man_n do_v well_o consider_v of_o they_o they_o will_v not_o flatter_v themselves_o so_o much_o in_o their_o iniquity_n as_o they_o do_v
